In the past couple of years I've had to transition to a different post-secondary study because my depression couldn't handle the rigors of the biological sciences. But now that it's summer again I am reminded of the last field work I did, and it brings happy and fond memories. Here are some pictures I took in the field.
under a spoiler in case people don't want to see bug photos :P
This boy had a lot of character!

A monarch I raised from a caterpillar, just out of her chrysalis and drying her wings.
Just because I can't handle the study of sciences at this point in time, doesn't mean I can't still enjoy entomology as a hobby! I'm staying pretty positive about it! :)
I'm really in love with this giveaway, simply because of the "post something happy" aspect. Right now, I'm in a really dark place, so I understand why something like this is so important and I appreciate that.
The image is too big for me to embed, so you'll have to click here to see it. This is fresh-faced me and my best friend, Liam. This photo was taken in October, I think, back in 2014. Liam was the first person that I've ever met from the internet and they quickly skyrocketed into my favourite person. It's crazy looking at this photo, because back then they were just this dude that lived a few hours away from me. Right now, I love them. Except things are so complicated. It's a bit bittersweet, honestly. Liam is my best friend and a lot of firsts for me, but they only want to be friends and nothing more, and I am 100% okay with that, but it's still bittersweet. It's photos like this that remind me of all we've been through together, from them getting lost in the woods and me waiting anxiously while the rescue team went and found them, to them dealing with money problems and me talking them through it, to us accidentally talking for 14 hours on Skype. It's been a journey that I won't ever forget.
And this one doesn't count, because very few of the posts are original, but this is my happy tag on Tumblr.

I have the most affectionate dog in the universe. His name's Bentley and he's a goldendoodle (although he's black, go figure), and he absolutely will not spend time by himself unless he's sleeping. His favourite thing to do is lean up against your legs when you're standing, but he's also very fond of jumping up to sit with you, regardless of what you're doing (and the fact that he weighs like eighty pounds).
So here's a (terrible webcam) picture of him shoving himself between me and my laptop. He's the blob; black dogs don't photograph all that well, lol.

Thank you for the generous giveaway!
I took this at work... you can probably guess where I work from the picture. >> I think it's part of the display at the front, I'm not sure why they'd taken it down at that time... they did take it around and get pictures of people posing with it, but I wasn't there that day so I didn't get one (sad). But seeing it made me smile and seeing it still makes me smile and even just thinking about it makes me smile. She's just so cute sitting in her little chair!

First of all thank you for doing this!
One of my happiest moment was last weekend when my beloved, her best friend and I finally got to visit the zoo together. My beloved's friend is going to reallyhard times right now and so to see her smile in awe when we went to the butterfly garden was awesome. She was so happy seeng all these tiny creatures flutter around and show their colours. And she was again very very happy when we could buy her Comodo Dragon plush at the Zoo shop. Iz made me feel really warm to know we made her day.

Thank you so much! I wrote that post five minutes before I left for work today, I can't believe it actually made sense xD; Does this link work?
I also took in another stray, Coco, hopefully this pic shows up for you! According to the adoption center, someone threw him away thinking he was a pregnant, female cat. Nope. He was just a fat, and very definitely male, cat.
Oh, this isn't to get an extra item, btw. I just wanna share the stray love <3
CAT LOVERS UNITED <3 Have you ever stepped on a cat's (or any animal's, for that matter) pawn by accident, and felt like the worst piece of human trash in the world? ;_;
I need that sign outside my house. Just...whoa. And thank you for the compliments, as always ;u; I can't recognize any of the items on your HA, so it's either an -awesome- layering work, or you're just that good at picking matching items. Either way, kudos to you <3
it's so generous of you to do this!
So a little backstory- I got accepted, through my university, to go work as a research assistant in England for the summer, and I've never really gotten to travel internationally before so it's been amazing! So these photos are from my summer so far, and from some experiences that have made me smile. (I'm going to use spoilers because the photos are fairly large).
This unimpressed butcher figure was my absolute favourite at the London Museum- something about his expression still makes me laugh when I look at the photo.

This was from my trip to Bath, and I'm not sure if they were up for any particular reason, but it was a bright sunny day and the display was beautiful (and a bit surprising to stumble across, since it was only on one street).

We also went to an outdoor museum made up of relocated old houses that were turned into displays for various time periods, and they had loads of animals up in one area! There were geese that were as loud as an guard dog could be, shire horses that were huge and beautiful, tons and tons of sheep, and this one pen with a mama pig and her piglets, which were just about the cutest things ever <3

Cute story. I was at the lake this weekend with several friends and their kids. Claire, who is 4, decided it was time to go inside and take a break, but she couldn't quite manage the doorknob. She twisted it and turned it and pulled as hard as she could, but the door wouldn't budge. So, I came up behind her and said, "here, let me get that for you." Once the door was opened, she turned around, blinked her big blue eyes at me and said, "You're beautiful."
"Thank you."
And that was that.
Thank you so much! I've been after that hairclip for AGES!
Well let's see. I certainly worked hard at the layering, yes, but I think they matched pretty well. --You know there's always a list on my profile if you wanna check, right? =P

This is a picture of me (right) and a boy I met in the hospital (left) over 8 years ago. Between then and now we've shared many wonderful and unforgettable experiences. This February, I became the happiest and luckiest girl in the world because he finally proposed to me! I have a photo of us on my profile if you scroll down (if you are interested.) So much has changed since the beginning, inside and out, but our feelings stayed the same (actually gotten much much stronger!) He is the other part of me; the happiest and best thing in my life! ❤
This is incredibly nice of you! I unfortunately don't have any pictures but around a year ago my cat named Oreo, who I grew up with died after 15 years with me. I grew up with him, he was such an important part of my family and I was devastated. In april of this year, for my birthday,my boyfriend at the time gave me a box and inside was a little grey and white kitten who I named Spice. Everyday I smile on how fiesty and cute he is, and I am reminded of my Oreo. :)

It took me a long while to dig around and find an image that really made me laugh when I remembered it. I recently graduated college, so going back through and seeing all the crazy shenanigans I got up to with my college friends was a bit bittersweet knowing I may not see them again.
We were very active in school activities, mainly the After Dark program which occurred on the first Friday of every month. It was a free night with games, movies, giveaways, and all kinds of stuff to do - including giant inflatables.
I remember very specifically one night where they had a massive Volcano 'battle arena' set up for playing. We of course got in on it without much hesitation, donning helmets and giant stuffed poles to smack the crap out of each other. The goal was to knock your opponents off the gray platform and into the lava - last person standing won.

We got a little TO eager though and my buddy Christine smacked me and I fell back into our buddy Halsey - and the two of us fell onto the Volcano. Not a problem except it was nothing but inflated air and so we FELL INTO THE VOLCANO. It coned downwards and the pull of the middle going knocked both Christine and Megan in as well, trapping us all down in the volcano.
I just remember laughing so hard I couldn't breath and I about wet my pants because we all had gotten into such a ridiculous situation. We were all stuck - sandwich down on top of each other in this plastic death cone - and ended up just kind of giving up and laughing while we waited for help.
The attendee had to run in and pull us out one by one - I still laugh just thinking about it.
Well, I've got a couple of videos that are so amusing, they make me happy. And hopefully, they'll make you happy, too! :D

thank you for the giveaway, this is a great idea! 😊
I like baking, even though I'm still not that good at it.
These are some silly cookies I made for my mom on mother's day. One got burned and I drew a sad face on it. Don't worry though, it wasn't sad for long, it got eaten first
