Chakara or Chaokra or Chaqura
These are all plays on the word Chakra, which is (in Indian thought) each of the centers of spiritual power in the human body, usually considered to be seven in number. The idea of this pet put me in mind of India and the spiritual aspects of its culture.
Currently selling:
Someone already suggested this on the front page but I wanted to explain why it seems like a good solid choice to me and probably the one I'd vote for if it ended up on the poll:
Phantasma
Other ideas in order of personal preference:
1. Ypnagog 2. Somnoliphant 3. Hyphasma 4. Somnir 5. Oliphir 6. Bakir 7. Qir/Qipir 8. Ylephan/Ylefan 9. Ylefant 10. Ylefir/Ylephir/Ylepir
4-10. Though some are likely already repeated in the first 16+ pages of posts, these are my other contributions. They're all mashups of various words relating to the theme that I'm making big assumptions about, this time with a heavy use of bits from "tapir" because the baku are rather shaped like one and tapir are even known as/referred to as baku.

Quai'usa (kw'eye oosa)
A playful twist on the tea Ilex Guayusa (native to the rainforest), believed by the Quechua people to induce dreams.
Qitaperh (key-ta-pair)
Qi + taper + erh
Qi - "Ki" energy, life force;
taper - Tapir an herbivorous animal with a small, prehensile snout; named after the dream-eating Baku.
erh - a variant ending for pu'er or pu-erh tea.
Quigan (key-gahn)
Qui + gan.
Qui - "Ki" energy, life force;
Gan - from Ganesha, the hindu lord.
Ulang (oo-long)
Based on the Bulang or Blang people, worshippers of the Spirit of Tea and birthplace of Pu'er tea (and, apparently, tea in general).
Also a play on words on the traditional chinese oolang tea.
Yuhu (yoo-hoo)
Yu + hu
Yù - chinese word for jade. Jade itself has many connotations. I noticed a slight jade/mint green in the concept colours.
Cháhú - Chinese word for teapot
Excited to see the new pet when it comes out!
P.S. No offense intended toward anyone for misspelled/mispronounced/misrepresented words! :o
Q: Quet - "quiet" with the I missing. dreams are generally silent things. U: Uunrae <OON-ray> seems like a sound this animal would make. also, I looked at "unreal" for inspiration. Uliim <OO-li-em> partial scramble of "subliminal". Y: Yeil <YEE-ill>
Binet - looking up the definition of "dream", I came across bobbinet. I didn't really like that one, but binet is nice.
Yantor:
A twist on the original "Tantor" (from the Edgar Rice Burroughs novels) which referred to the great elephant in Tarzan mythology.
Oolophent (Oolong elephant)
Oolephas (same concept, but mixed with latin characterization of asian elephants)
Came here to suggest Quigan but someone else was faster lol
Kukurai (Baku, kurai)
No idea if that has been suggested yet because I have to go to work in like a minute and don't have time to look through 16 pages ;)
I'm excited for this, this sounds like fun. Can't wait to see what it actually looks like 😊
so im going off the basis that this pet is a mix of a baku and a foo/fu dog and maybe indian elephants/elephant imagery so if im wrong on either of those parts then my names wont make sense but oh well :P :)
sleepir (a pun of the word sleeper, made by using sleep and tapir [the animal bakus are based on] if the new pet had more than 4 legs it'd be a pun on sleipnir but i dont see any extras. oh well :P) -slepir is an alternative to make the vowel short like in tapir
ukonba (the word "baku" mixed with a few other letters to play on the word "ukoncha" which means "tumeric tea". looking into it, tumeric actually ties in well because its native to india and is considered holy/spiritual there OvO)
bakfu (a simple mix of baku and fu dog)
matcapir (mix of tapir and "matcha" which is a group up green tea which is specially grown for this purpose. it's traditionally used in chinese and japanese tea ceremonies OvO)
i dont want to take up anyone else's chances though and i feel a couple of my names are strong enough contenders, so i'll stop here, hehe. good luck everyone!! i cant wait to see what this new pet looks like! OvO
I suggest: Chaxiang (ch-ah-shee-ahng) Mandarin words 'Cha' (tea) and 'Xiang' (elephant) Chameng (ch-ah-mung) Mandarin 'Cha' (tea) and 'Meng' (dream) Chaye (ch-ah-yeh) Mandarin 'Cha' (tea) and 'Ye' (leaf)
MIGHT I ADD I LOVE THEM ALREADY ❤️ so excited for these
yatembo ( = the elephant )
" tembo" is elephant in swahili
"ya" = the
ya-tembo or yatembo
- we do indeed have no pets with those 3 letters , so here you go at least for the Y :):)
Darje from Darjeeling. Andarje from Ande (Spirit) & Darjeeling. Sondarje from Sonder (the realization that each passerby has a life as vivid and complex as ones own) & Darjeeling. ...I really like Darjeeling tea, okay? Toska (the russian word for the "sensation of great spiritual anguish" with no apparent cause). Tuska (A play on the above word and the fact that it has tusks... um, yeah).
It's late and my words are lost. This is the best I can do. Fantastic entries so far from everyone :3
Svadilfari, Svadilfaria, Svadilfarios just sounds nice
Assamicore based on the tea Assam - and a manticore, since that was my first impression of the shadow
Quingmao is actually a red tea bush, but sounds like an animal, too
Teacarcha tea is obivous - carcha - one of the bigger wolfes in ancient literature
Leafour leafes (which are floating around) and four legs - on which it is standing
Huan PU-Erh Huan again is a big wolflike animal standing on four legs - PU-Erh after the tea
Zoulong Zou is actually the japanese word for elephant - and oolong
Brewooi from brew (ing) - and the ooi from Rooisbos
Matora Matcha (after the tea) and tora which is tiger in japanese
and last but not least (for now)
Yumekocha Yume - dream in japanese, kocha - tea in japanese
