obviously its name should be Maximus Elephante
I also think "Noot Noot" or "Toot Toot", whichever you prefer, would be really fitting
...But in all seriousness, I think the name should reflect its elegant and fantastic long nose. So here are some completely made-up names that build off of the word "proboscis":
Probasha Laprobos Theproba (pronounced teh-PROH-buh) Omniprobas Biglongnose Bambroscis Prothereal (proboscis + ethereal. winning combination am i right) Etherius Aurifantos
Good luck to the staff on picking a winning name! I can't wait to see - I am REALLY excited about the color palette preview. :-D

Bakubaku
All men dream: but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible. This I did.

Psinensis: Playing off psychic + sinensis, as in Camella sinensis, which is tea 8D Steepir: A bit silly and pokemon-like, haha. Steep + tapir (only works if this is a baku as many have guessed). Bakoe: Baku + pekoe Tasseir: Tasse, as in the root for tasseomancy (reading of tea leaves) + tapir
...or some combination of these bits and pieces! I don't know, they might be a little goofy :x

Youkabai a play combining "Youkai/Yokai" - a classification of Japanese spirit creatures, and "Baku" - the dream eating tapir spirits.
Name Breakdown You'll notice Baku is spelled backward in the middle to better fit with the flow :) this obviously fits with the dreams. Sandwiching the backward baku is Yo(u)kai, fitting the spiritual description of the creature as well.
"Kabai" (which you'll notice is formed at the end) is also a verb form of the term meaning to defend. Such a gentle giant surely seems like he may be a defender for whatever Subeta family he joins!
"Bai" which is at the end is also a brand of tea, which is important to this creature!
"Ouka" (again in the middle) is a Japanese girl name meaning cherry blossom. The description of the spirit mane flowing makes me think of beautiful cherry blossom trees swaying in the wind - magical and seemingly ethereal!
Finally, "Youkabai", if pronounced (Yoh - Kah - Bye) sounds a bit like you're saying "rockabye", like the lullaby song. Which, given the association to dreams, just makes the overall sound of the name flow really nicely in my opinion! :)
BONUS POINTS: It starts with a Y and we don't have a pet name yet that starts with a Y according to staff :) :) :)
Gajasimha after a mythological creature from southern Asia that has the head of an elephant an the body of a lion.
