Since this is becoming a thing, I have to ask... will we be getting the same filters in the Vault that we are in the Shops? I've always hated using my Vault because it's harder to find items and harder to navigate than the shops are. I think implementing a better search/filter in there would really help with this.

Can we also expect Forum Group Vaults in the future? One of my galleries was dedicated to holding prizes for my cult/forum group... but with the limitations now, it would be nice to have an alternative to store the prizes.

Two questions I haven't seen answered/addressed anywhere. Not sure if you will know or not but worth a shot.

  • Will we be able to autoprice more than one shop?
  • If we have duplicates of an item and don't put them on the same shop since we didn't know, will the site combine them into one unit somehow or will we be competing against ourselves when we price out multiple shops? This is worrisome mainly for autopricing for me since one would be at a lower price.

I don't know if anyone has answered this, but what happens if you have a GA, get the max amount of shops/galleries, and then your GA runs out?

I have not found this question in the FAQ.

Why approach you moreover GA members to participate? I mean if you need help from users to figure out what's the real technical problem at the shops? I assume how more users could help you with testing a bug at the shops, how sooner you could get more clearness what the technical problem is, then when you ask extra cooperation from GA-users. I don't understand this way if the target to figure out the well known bugs and errors has got priority.

The source why I got this question is by this argument:

Quote
The reason we&;re doing something about it now is we believe the user shops have been causing huge bottlenecks in our database, and are a major reason for the 502s and 504s of late.

I don't see where the logic come from to make a difference between GA-members to participate the beta test and everybody else.

It seems to me the beta test has got also something "semi commercials" nigh the way to look for the source of the technical problem. That's a confusing point. Tell me if I got wrong.

I appreciate that, but shouldn&;t these discussions have taken place <em>first</em>?</p>
<p>Take the time to implement the right solution, instead of implementing a wholly unsatisfactory solution with promises to look into tweaks and changes later. I understand that you personally won&;t have all the answers -- but saying &quot;we&;re going to force everyone onto this awful system on the 17th, and golly, we&;ll try to make it better later, just like the wardrobe and the minion zoo&quot; is a terrible way of going about this, particularly after we&;d been promised less than a year ago that gallery limits wouldn&;t be affected at all.

I could not agree more. The VERY least the staff should be doing right now is putting the mandated system switch ON HOLD until this mess is sorted out, things are heavily beta tested, and user feedback is taken into consideration.

The site is running fine right now, even with the occasional error, and I'm certain the vast majority of users would not mind continuing to use the current version of the site until a more refined version of the proposed updates is completed. I know I'd sure be willing to wait. Would you have more faith driving a brand new car that has been detailed and crash tested, or taking a risk getting behind the wheel of a clunker, not knowing how functional it will be until you either A) get it on the road and realize it's driving, but still having a sense of uncertainty in the back of your mind for how long it'll continue to hold up OR B) completely crash and burn the moment you steer it into the street?

With the life of the site on the line here, I would like to think our voice has some weight. But, I could be wrong and the update could be pushed out exactly according to plan anyway and I would hate to stick around and watch the site I've played for almost a decade swiftly die. It appears with the release of the FAQ and this thread that we are at least being somewhat acknowledged, which is a step better than we were yesterday, but I am still not wholly convinced that much of anything is going to be changed before the update goes live in almost a week and it makes me upset that I lack this trust.

Similar to what users such as and others have said, I really don't understand why this mandatory change is not being rolled out with the code to mass move items already written. This change is not so urgent that it has to be done IMMEDIATELY. It's been talked about for over a decade, what's another few months or however long it takes to have this code written and have a proper transition in place?

And reading through some of your other posts, I have to disagree that even getting people to test this system does not need to be done IMMEDIATELY. I think waiting for code that can help transfer 50 or even 25 items at a time if complete mass movement is impossible would be better than nothing.

I think I might like the way the new shops work once they raise the limits and add the search options/filters. But the limits of 6 shops/galleries and items per shop is way too low. And it takes too long to transfer stuff. I had 2 windows open side by side last night with my gallery in 1 and new gallery in the other moving items into inventory and then quick stocking into the new gallery then having to go back and recategorize everything in the new gallery. Because we have to go down the list and click the down arrow to click 1 on every single item to remove it, it took what felt like forever. And I only moved ONE category out of my gallery. Too bad they don't work like the vault where you just click the item (so only 1 click per item instead of 2) or you can click check all, that would be easier. To move everything into separate shops/galleries and recategorize everything is going to take days or longer. What a pain. :( And I would have to have at least 5 galleries and 3-4 shops just to fit what I have now with these limits, with no room for future stuff. Grrr.

Would it be possible when you go to create a new shop or gallery-- for it to not be changeable? So it's either a shop, or it's a gallery. Period.

If that were doable, then to take it a step farther it could be done where galleries don't pull prices from the user shops (something that happens currently when you have a gold account). If that were the case, then galleries potentially wouldn't be pulling anything from the database, right? And if that is the case, then there'd be no reason not to allow galleries to have unlimited stock.. because they couldn't be converted to a shop at any random point in time, and they wouldn't be pulling anything from the database. It would literally just be a place for users to put the things they want to collect... which seems to be what a lot of users want?

I'm still 100% behind the achievements being retired regardless... but a lot of people like to collect things and display them in their gallery/galleries, and if there's a separation of shop and gallery it seems like people could still do just that?

The galleries and shops MUST be on different codes/servers/whatever. There's no point to a gallery if you cannot collect what you want. It totally defeats the purpose of a gallery or galleries. Shops, sure. Limits do make sense. Galleries, on the other hand, should have no limits. It's like giving you a massive box to collect something in in RL but someone tells you that you can only put 10 items in that massive box when it could easily hold hundreds if not thousands of items XS

Item limits??
We&;ve been warning these were coming for years, and they&;re finally here. But, as mentioned in the news post, we anticipate these initial limits will be raised quite a bit before we settle on final numbers. And even after they&;re &quot;final&quot; there&;s always the chance they could be raised again in the future.

There's been a little warning. It was never discussed in much openness. Instead of having a major discussion thread about this, all there's been is an instant, "Hey guys, we're changing the way shops and galleries are going to be and you have a week before the switch-over!" This should've been talked about in great detail before this even became a feature on Subeta. This is why people are so upset. Even Keith's Twitter in 2015 was vague, "Isn't looking forward to the change that's going to happen on Subeta next year." People even commented on that post asking what it would be, or even some foreshadowing, and there was never any reply that I saw when I looked.

Something this drastic SHOULD'VE been talked about greatly! Now players are panicking and are not happy. May be good for the errors, but certainly isn't good for the players. You fix things and then what? You won't have any userbase left to play on here and the site shuts down. This could very well be the beginning of the end of Subeta with the way this is going on.

Making players pay for features that come with GAs (the shop/gallery amounts, for example) is really uncool, too. These should be open and equal for everyone. Everyone should still have access to up to 10 shops/galleries. Not 3 for a regular player and 6 for a GA. There shouldn't be this whole, "must pay to play" option or get the short end of the stick as to what limited access to the site you have if you're not a GA. GA bonuses should be exactly that - bonuses. They shouldn't detract from what a regular player gets if they can't pay to play.

This whole thing is going to ruin the site if something isn't done about this drastic change and fast.

This is EXACTLY what my biggest gripe with the whole thing is. I don't want Subeta to become "pay to win", because I don't support that at all. It's a business model that screams "we only care about the money", which is extremely greedy and inconsiderate of people.

Yes, Subeta DOES need the money to operate, but this is NOT THE WAY to do it. They'll end up losing more business because of it.

I'm not sure if this is really the case, but I don't do something if this is actually against my principles of business ethics.

(I hate to speak this out).

No.

I try to understand the priority from the staff. Figure out bugs or find a way to make something more commercial and the bug is actually a side issue? I have really still no idea. Let hope these doubts are just my stupid figments. Better than when my feelings are correct.

By the way, I have got my GA already activated in March.

It specifically says on the gold account page that one of the perks of having a gold account is beta testing

I'll answer more things when I can later today/tonight, I'm running a fever (around 101 ugh I was really hoping I wasn't sick and it was just allergies) and on cold medicine that is making it very hard to focus long. @ Seerow and others with the autopricer question: According to the autopricer page on the new shop, "You can use the autopricer for free once a day for each shop". So yes, you can autoprice all your shops for free once a day.

@ Annet - Don't worry, I don't think you're the only one who's refusing to test the new shops. ;)

I've only created new shops/galleries and sold one item. I've attempted to autoprice, but it doesn't work. I'm only helping in hopes that this will help with increasing the limits. But, if everything goes as planned, I'm not spending any more real money on this site.

- Dang, don't work yourself too hard. Please get a lot of rest... your health is more important. Thank you for answering what you can. :)

Amber, I see the tiny orange figure which looks alike a tree or a deformed doll with big brains.

Okay I have always overlooked, but I still think it's a bit strange that users without GA have less space for their stores than users with a GA. It seems to me as if something new unexpected commercials is introduced while the technical problem which everyone complains about for months, has nothing to do with this new aspect of the differences between the storage capabilities for GA-users and non-GA-users. This aspect appears so suddenly. It could be me why this doubt and reluctance caused me, but it feels not good.

My priority would be with the help of inventing technical improvements to participate in a beta test. O, yes I'm willing, but... not if this means I support in the meantime something new commercials in a way that I would never stand behind. No sorry.

Tough, I'm aware that my suspicion is maybe unfounded and that in the future it is not so that blue account members have less storage space in their shops permanent, but that this difference is only a case during the beta test. The problem is, there is no clarity if this new difference between GA-members and non-GA-members is permanent.

By the way What bad for you that you have caught cold. Get well better soon and condolences for Ariel.

I put a small handful of items in my new shop posted at the lowest prices and haven't sold anything because I guess not enough players are using the new shop search. Just hope we will get more than 6 shops/galleries because right now I have already filled 1/4 of my new gallery and have barely touched the old one with moving stuff so it would take at least 5 for all my gallery stuff plus about 4 shops. Ugh. Hope they raise the shops/items limits before this goes into permanent effect.
