now exists so we can ping people who want to find out updates that staff doesn't ping us to. We can make threads and ping people. All we have to do now is get people in this group.
I did not care, but now I am confused :-) So, there is a rule that QP should be given out 1:5? But it is not working? And for some reason the message that was added in June last year is only now showing up? My....
I did Shinwa, got no QP. I did another Wizard Quest, got QP and message (technically the 6th quest). Did another WQ and got QP and message (technically the 7th quest).
So, why not removing that part of the message about the 5th quest again and everything is as before?
I think it made no difference whether it was announced or not. I think I often got 2 QP for every ten quests I did anyway. Occasionally three, since my count is a little weird? Nothing out of the ordinary though.
What I don't understand is this. Reaper simply expressed why there wasn't an announcement, and how she didn't like the QP changes and explained her reason why. Maybe she missed what Keith had written, since it was awhile back. Is it wrong for her to voice her opinion on this matter? Why is it that when a user disagrees with staff because of certain communication issues, it is taken as "complaining" rather than just constructive criticism. We cannot be considered as "ONE" community, if everything that is said, is taken negatively ~ :D ~

I can't say much about rates of quest points, since I don't really pay attention to how many are given out, but I'm very confused about complaints relating to "remainder" quests being carried over to the next day rather than resetting to zero at midnight. Surely using remainder quests will result in extra quest points in the long run?
I just received a Quest Point after my THIRD quest of the day without cancelling one so I'm not really sure what to think about the script. OnO
Seems I got a lot less quest points than I normally do :(

I am not old. I am gracefully aged
heh. talk about slow. lol. i was just thinking thing this past weekend. (how i seem to be getting them every five quests)
Agree
This seems very odd.. I'm not an everyday quester but I do them frequently enough to know that this message has not been happening to me since May. Just the other day I was amazed that I got 4 QPs from 4 quests in a row. It doesn't really make sense that all of a sudden, 6 months later, the change goes into effect.
Other than that.. I'm not too upset about the drop rate. It means less than I'm used to getting but if I complete all quests for a day (10 each) than I get 18 QPs.. not too bad I guess. But, I rarely do 90 quests per day so in reality I'll be happy to get 5 QP a day. Looks like I won't be getting all those awesome Quest Shop items any time soon!
Everyone who uses shop search would see that there are new special shops listed as original selling location, but they still made an announcement. It would have been nice to at least get a SiteUpdate ping, as that is what the ping group is for.
Overall, I'm wondering if there was an issue with everyone getting cycled into the 1:5 group like mentioned. With all the different results people were getting, my first instinct was to think we were still in different parts of the A/B test. =/

The message is new, but the 1 in 5 has been happening for a long time. It was stated by Keith in a clusterfuck of a board once upon a time, which seems to be the staff's preferred method of letting people know what's going on.
An announcement would have been nice and I'd rather they be random and not only every five!
=^^=
I just noticed this today, because I managed to read a bit before the next page loaded. I tend to go on auto-mode when questing, and only kinda see when I get QP to log them.
That being said, last year I was pretty inconsistent with my questing, but I should have noticed the change, as indeed, since May 2015 I've been getting 27 QP (I can't do Sarah's), and when lucky one or two NPC give me an extra random one, for a total of 4 QP.
[edit]
It doesn't reset at midnight. Meaning, you had two quests yesterday that you didn'r get a point for
It also always worked this way since May
I didn't notice this change 0_0 I agree that this makes the shop items much harder to obtain (specially seasonal items); I don't like this change.
Oh nooo, seeing really great stuff and not able to buy them. :O Well this was rather informative.I am glad the staff do pop in to clarify things.
Where does it end? Where does it begin? Does it begin again, is mortality a revolving door or indeed life's final exit
I pay close attention to my quests. What gets awarded, how many I do a day, etc.
I know (and wish I could prove it, because I never thought I'd need to take screenshots like I do now with my wizard quests whenever I get 2+ in the same day in spite of being told by staff and players that you can only get 1 extra a day, or take tallies of my quest points like I do with my zapping and tc slots) that I haven't been receiving 1 every 5 quests to this point. The message has been the same, and I've gotten the message back to back multiple times.
The change may have been in since May or whatever but that doesn't mean it was working correctly.
I just noticed the change today when I did my very first quest and suddenly the message is different. The fact that it suddenly changed and I didn't understand what it meant prompted me to assume it was a bug. I (I suppose incorrectly, now) put a post in bug forums as a result.
So all those going "this is straightforward and no one should be confused and it didn't need an announcement"?
Well, um. Sorry? I was very confused. I didn't understand it or why it suddenly cropped up without (seemingly) any warning. Especially when it was informing me that I had earned a point for completing 5 quests...
When it was my first quest of the day.
(Yes, I've read the previous posts in this thread, I understand now this is due to it not resetting per day so it's carrying over from previous days, but I didn't know that at the time and I feel like that is one of the points people are trying to make in talking about "why wasn't this talked about/announced as part of a news post anywhere?" in addition to the fact that it's clearly not been working correctly since its implementation...)
Shrugs.

Subeta reminds me of my high school : p At least when it comes to announcing things. In the hallways there was this one monitor that usually informed us of the most important things and if you forgot to check it out and didn't hear the news from others, you were screwed. Of course, in Subeta it isn't THAT big of a deal but yeah. But I still do hear pretty much everything from other users!
Ok, I'm not insane and the notification is kind of new. I did notice that my sP reward seemed awfully on the low side today, but that's probably RNG and n=1. It seems that with the change and the only things I really buy off the quest shops being new seasonal books that I can no longer afford to splurge on anything else.
