He felt bad for mentioning it, but it was true. He just couldn't eat sweets without thinking about the children at the home not having any which made him rather not like sweets at all. His eyes twinkled mischievously, "the less you know... the better..." He had plans all right. One of his items from Zonkos was a portable swamp. He'd heard about that one and wanted to give it ago... in the middle of the boy's loo at lunch time and see what havoc it caused.

"I won't ask how many of those Canary Creams you bought then," she replied with a grin, "I'll have to avoid eating any stuff you offer for a while, just in case."

"I had a good time. I found some great stuff in Spintwitches. How about you?" Beth asked Magnus ().

He smiled. Now who said anything about offering food? He wondered with a chuckle. Those would be nicely hidden and changed to look like other things. "Eh, I'll take a couple myself if things get too boring. I did," he said to Beth, "I don't really need 'elp getting inta trouble but nonetheless found me some great aids. Might 'ave another two weeks o' detention coming up, unless o' course I ain't caught."

"I'm all done. I have a great time with you guys. And I got everything I needed for the time being. Did you? Now I need to go back to Hogwarts and study a bit before baking cookies."

Magnus' mischievous smile made Paddy realise that he had more creative plans than just offering Canary Creams. She still wasn't too keen on discovering what feathers felt like over her fur, but resolved to just be extra careful with anything he might have planned.

"Manage to find everything you wanted?" Paddy asked Gaia and Beth as they joined them. "What flavour cookies are you baking?" she added to Millie.

() "I did! I usually place my orders before coming. It helps with my spending!" Gaia said while shifting some packages to be able to see the ground better. "It got colder while we were at the village. Without the buildings I can feel the wind chill even more."

"Named your pup then?" he asked changing the subject. "It'll sure be nice ta thaw out by the fire with a good book. After food 'o course... wonder what they are making tonight. Millie, you going down ta the kitchens then?" His eyes sparkled and he said,"ask the elves if they've got an ham. I'm not sure they found all the fake ones I put in there."

"It's very easy to get carried away in those shops," Paddy replied, "even though I don't feel the cold as much as everyone else seemed to, I'll be pleased to get back in the warm common room."

"I'm hopeless at picking names," she said to Magnus (), "I'd had Mouse for months before you made that name suggestion for her." She grinned at Magnus putting fake hams in the kitchens, "didn't you worry you might get sub-standard food if you play tricks on those House Elves?"

"I'm going to make chocolate chunk cookies and sugar cookies. Once I go home for break and go visit my grandparents, I'll make more with them".

"Oh dear. You're the one who placed the fake hams." Millie said with a giggle. "I heard the commotion from the common room. Yes, I'll be going down to the kitchen tonight. The elves let me have full access because I give them some of my baked goods. I usually wait for them to finish with supper so I don't get in their way. I'll always really nice to them because they have such difficult jobs."

"Nah they always wanna make ya 'appy. Though they may be a little less friendly to ya if you play a prank on 'em. But ya know, gotta keep 'em on their toes. Thats cool. i can't cook to save me life."

"Yeah, I'm a people pleaser as well. But I love seeing their faces light up when I give them a plate of fresh cookies. I love to cook and bake but I wouldn't want to do it for a living. I found it stress relieving."

"those sound delicious! I might ask to borrow the recipe for the chocolate chunk cookies before I go back to my Uncle's house, as I think he'd like those too."

"I wouldn't have the confidence to play a prank on the House Elves," she replied to Magnus (), "even though they love to have people happy, I'd still be worried I'd get them in too foul a mood! Although having said that, I've not actually met a House Elf here yet, other than the one that came to the COMC class of course."

He listened to the conversations whilst plotting his next prank. It had been a good but long day and he was feeling tired and hungry. But it had been a really good day.

"Sure, no problem. I'll write it up for you when we get back to Hogwarts"

"In that case, I bet you had to get stuff delivered," Paddy replied to Beth as they walked back. Paddy's mind wandered as they walked, as she thought over the upcoming Ball and wondered if there was a way to avoid having to dance.... or even just avoiding wearing a dress or skirt. "Thanks," she added to Millie, "I won't try asking the House Elves if they'd mind me using a space in the kitchens though - I'll wait until I get to my Uncle's house for the holidays before trying the recipe out."
