Sounds very boring to me. Please don't water down the pet aspect of the site anymore than it has been done already
Just no. Firstly, there are people who do collect the elixirs for treasures or for galleries. It's happened in the past and I presume some still do it today.
Secondly, I'm honestly kind of sick of the whole make everything instantly attainable with a certain amount of sp movement. Sometimes, I like being required to get an item to get something and having some random NPC make it instantly attainable if you just have the right amount of sp is uh... not that interesting to me.
As for battling, I'm not a battler. I rarely remember to battle or train my pets unless it's for an event that requires battling, but that said, pylonics when they showed up were great for low end battling when I did battling so I guess I'd agree with having them be available more.
what if the npc gave you the elixir? honestly I don't see how that is different than going into user shops and buying the elixir. they are both instantly attainable at the click of a button. it's not like elixirs are rare or certain ones very sought after.
I might be in the minority, but sometimes I want to have to buy something to get it and by buy something I mean go into a shop to get it. I understand why everyone seems to want to make it easier by just having an NPC give it to you but I honestly don't think everything should be an NPC related event nor would I honestly want everything to be an NPC related event.
I'm fine with them restocking, I'd just like them restocking elsewhere. they sit around and prevent actual useful stuff from restocking. there are 23 elixirs just sitting there right now, non-restocking npc shop just makes the most sense to me for these.
My issue isn't with them being restockable. I like them being restockable because sometimes I just want the physical restocking aspect of the site. I am however against just doing away with elixirs entirely and just paying a certain amount to have some random NPC change them into whatever color you wish as long as you give them the amount of sp the NPC desires. I was under the impression that Metroid's post was referring to the latter which yes, I'm against.
That said, I actually have no issue with them being moved to a shop that's considered non-restockable like the zombie den or Gooutside beacuse it'd still require a transaction of some sort and it might actually raise the elixirs value as well.
ah okay. I thought you were against both. I think completely removing elixirs would upset more people than it would benefit, so I'm more in favor of keeping them but moving them anywhere else. or moving the battle stuff elsewhere. dark potions are very handy in certain battles, and pylonics are even a necessity in higher tiers (certain ones anyway) it's sad how rare they are now.
In any case, something needs to be done. Make 36 empty more often or see if there's a way to change up the sitting stock? All I ever see in there are the same elixirs over and over again. Fester, Mahar, Mortiking, Dragarth...it seriously never changes from those species.
It was that way when Magic Box was still open, and it's not any different now.

Putting them in a non-restockable place would make them seriously lose value, because they retain value by being high-rarity quest items.
Why don't we go the other way, make the dark potions in a infinite supply shop, and leave the elixirs alone because this would be a lot less hassle on the item admins
have them continue to restock at AA, but add to battle shop
completely remove and add them to some infinite supply shop (battle items only)
have them stay at AA, and make them drop as additional BQ reward items (doesnt have to be 100 % drop rate)
have them be vendable! (not srs)
referring to potions/pylonics only in each case
I hadn't actually considered that but true.
Honestly I could go either way.
glad its not just me i thought i was missing some thing....will read more but we need the stuff back in
THANK YOU! NHS... Think pink this October..
I think that the reason that we don't see the restockable boosters appearing in the shop is also partly due to the changes that were made to the restocking algorithm. The same rares appear to stock over and over (as in I just bought them and the next restock the same rares are stocked again), which is something I have also noticed in other shops, while super rare items are very rarely seen. I know that super rare items are supposed to restock rarely, but now they appear to restock too rarely.

Yes please to giving the dark x potions + pylonics their own shop ala GoOutside. I'm not even really worried about the boosters, I just want to be able to restock pylonics when I need them. .__.
Would lowering their rarity help? I don't really understand all the recent restock algorithm changes (I gave up restocking a long time ago), but that could help them restock more often, right? And it would be a pretty easy thing to change.

it couldn't hurt.
honestly the biggest problem I have with the change is that "magic box closed down and had its stuff moved elsewhere" but looking at the shop, it looks like apothecary closed down and magic box just invaded apothecary. wouldn't it have made more sense just to close apothecary and move that into magic box? a small store wouldn't just take the majority of a much larger store's inventory and start selling it and kinda forget about what it sold before. I think the change was to combat the mystery box giving out too many boosters, but wouldn't it be a lot simpler to remove apothecary from the mystery box? does anyone actually use the mystery box on non apothecary days other than for drills?
There once was a mini-plot in which the dark x potions were available in the thousands and all y'all didn't buy them from the shop. Heck, the big fight not too long after this they were still stocking regular and all y'all didn't buy them from the shop. When it was easy what you did instead of get them yourselves was sit and complain. Now, it is harder but still do-able.
In addition to being a battler I'm a restocker and I had a huge supply accumulated over time, which any of you could also do. And a big factor the price didn't go higher was largely because my stash is priced and sits there as a price barrier since I'm too lazy to raise prices on you and had more than I wanted to use myself. Based on my sales and how quick they went even at 10K they're actually worth more than that to the average battling user.
Calling dark x potions battle supplies implies that they should be regularly used. I don't know that I agree with this. Maybe if you wanna regularly use them you can, but then their price isn't outrageous at all.
There's much talk of sP sinks. If these items get "sunk" I think their price should be around 16-20K a pop.
No one is going to spend 16-20k on a one use battle item that adds 11 icons. The ones you sell are probably from quests, Maleria asks for them iirc.
Maybe some of us have had stockpiles of these but it is now harder to replenish our supply because they aren't as readily available as they used to be. Not all of us hoard everything we get our hands on.
Personally, I only bought the potions when I needed them. The only time I hoarded them was when they were in the mystery box and I was trying to get boosters anyway. I don't think you should be expected to hoard them, and really, even if you had a hoard before it's now harder to replenish it. I thought my few hundred of each type of potion was fine because it lasted long enough for me to replenish the next time the apothecary was in the mystery box, but I can't be bothered trying to get them from there anymore because having to wade through the elixir-priced items is a pain. I'm now completely out of them except the few I get each day from BQs.
At this point, something needs to be done, either about the potions or the elixirs. Personally, I think elixirs should be moved to a GoOutside type store. As far as I know, hardly any of the elixirs are worth buying for quests, and other than that they'd only be used for changing pets or TCs/galleries. Having them be restockable just feels like a Neopets idea more than a Subeta idea at this point. And hey, if you move them to a dedicated store you can up the price on them and make it more of an sp sink. I know it wouldn't be too much trouble for me or anyone else who wants to change their pet to pay 1mil(or more) for an elixir. /shrug
