I really do not like having an auto-buy button on every page like this. Can it be a link to the CS instead? I don't normally buy stuff from the hustler, and I'm terrified I'm going to accidentally buy something eventually.
And after reading the rest of the thread, I agree with everyone else that it should only be in the CS. Or maybe add it to the top of the news page?

just please tell me there is a css way to get rid of this. i don't want to have to click yet another no thanks every single time i log on.
i got a gold account to get rid of ads. this makes it feel like wasted money.
We shouldn&;t be hiding things like this behind something like cash shop -> hustler -> timed release -> requires joining a group to be told when there is something new.
I don't care much about the "lore" of it all, I just don't want to see an ad on every page when there are designated places (CS, news) for this to be already. There are ways you can bring more attention to it without plastering it all over the site.

This seems like such unnecessary coding imo. And yeah, I'm gonna be hella mad if I accidentally click buy because the only button to X out of it is tiny and most people will hit the green on instinct. Stick him in the dailies section of the news if you want him more accessible. Or go with the suggestion of making this opt-in via the hustler page.
He changes daily - I don't think that news or the CS are actually good places for this. News would be spam, basically, and the CS is somewhere that users don't actually look unless they're actually motivated to make a purchase, and then they've already chosen what they're going to buy typically.
The flash sale is meant to be for more spur of the moment type deals and that's why I think this makes more sense (and has resulted in significantly improved hustler sales of at least this item).
As always we appreciate the feedback and we're taking all of the feedback here into account, especially about the buy button and lack of confirmation.

- It doesn't have to be an actual news post. You can just put this banner at the top of the page so people see it whenever they check the news regularly. It should still bring in sales from outside the CS.
And maybe extend it to include items that are about to retire, because right now I think I'm driving a lot of your last minute sales with my deadlines group. :P

Is that because people legitimately want the item or are accidentally clicking the purchase button

Like some others, I'm not really keen on this idea. I can see it being useful for some people who are stalking him so they don't have to rely on a ping group, or people who are new and/or don't really know about him/what he sells, but I really think there should be an option to opt out of it in user settings, else it just feels kind of spammy. Even if it only takes a second to click out of the banner, it's still annoying imo.
Perhaps something that would be better? Since his item changes daily, perhaps he should have his own little box thing on the news page, maybe under the potion lottery and recycle beast or something, that shows what item he's currently selling and a link to his cash shop page?
Eh, that's just my two cents.

If this thing is going to remain where it is, I would love to see some kind of news post explaining it more fully for people who are not familiar with the Hustler.
The Hustler is, by definition, a Hustler, and not everything he sells is worth buying. When someone is presented a banner "sale" at the top of the site, the implication is that is a site supported sale, and therefore worth buying, which most of us who know the Hustler know isn't always the case. But when there's a big BUY NOW button, then folks unfamiliar with the Hustler could get fooled.
I think a news post pointing out that even though it looks quite official, it's really just some dude selling overpriced stuff off the back of his truck and it's worth researching before you buy.
Unless that's the point.
(and has resulted in significantly improved hustler sales of at least this item).
Is that because people legitimately want the item or are accidentally clicking the purchase button

Or because the item is priced at 36mil in user shops so it's a good deal? :o

let me have my conspiracy theories dang it. also i think the last time i checked the hustler it was something awful ;_;
Either way, it's clearly too early to say anything about increased sales. We only have one data point. :P
[edit]
...not that that's even really the point I think we're trying to make.

I like it, many times I didn't get the ping and I lost an item that I need.. Also, many users are not in the group and not using the forums, so I don't think it's correct to exclude them from an important feature.
I just don't like the name "flash sale" it's too commercial, I think it's better to change it to something more cool in the Hustler way..
I'm so glad I'm not in the testing group for this because I am a notoriously inaccurate clicker and I'd probably accidentally buy something :/
I think it would be better, personally, if it were just a link? Rather than a DO YOU WANT THIS Y/N kind of thing. Because yeah I can see you guys getting inundated with tickets from people who
a. didn't actually mean to buy it b. bought it thinking it was a good deal and then shop search it and discovered it wasn't c. how are you doing to know the difference and they can blame it on 'oops there's a huge button at the top I didn't mean to click it refund please'
That also fits more with the lore, like the Hustler kind of sidles up to you and whispers that he has something in stock, follow him back to his van or whatever if you want to check it out.
I like the idea of the little dailies icon thing, where it can be like for example:
Today's Sale: button for hustler page
everyone visits the news page so if they see that in their dailies next to RB and potion lottery they may be more inclined to like it that way, and it's not in your face which is what I and several others do NOT like about this.
Let's have it change at midnight every night and stick it in the news, that way the new news not showing up at midnight gets fixed :(
The Hustler rotates stock multiple times a day (sometimes), so I don't think putting it in the dailies really makes sense.
Maybe not under the dailies section then, rather in the "Check Out" section perhaps, or maybe even his own Hustler's Current Item section. I don't know about anyone else but I go to and see the news page rather frequently, and I'd much rather have it there than getting notifications for it every time the item changes. Of course, if we can opt out of the notifications to begin with then it really doesn't matter that much x)
