I haven't heard that's not supposed to happen but also am not sure if staff have ever previously said anything about that. I can say that I've had multiple r99s stock in the same restock on multiple occasions in the last 2+ years, so it's at least not something new. I haven't had it happen a ton compared to how often I RS, but it's still happened a good number of times for me. I figure it makes up for all the new stocks that are nothing but common items. ;)

I have a suggestion regarding restocking changes. One of the complaints myself and many others have is that due to the large numbers of different items that restock in some shops, it's fairly difficult and time consuming to scroll up and down the pages to restock.

What if the size of the shopkeepers' images were reduced? They're a link to refresh the page, and many of us click them instead of f5 or whatever. However, they could easily be ~40% smaller and still look good on the page, with their details and shading visible. And maybe their little text/greetings could be to the left/right of their image, conditionally formatted into a smaller text box-type thing as well? That way there aren't 2k pixels of space being taken up at the top of each page by the shopkeeper and greeting. That would help quite a bit with the scrolling problem.

I personally think it would make the most sense to have the shopkeeper on the right and the text on the left, if not simply because the sidebar is on the left so I think most of us tend to naturally keep our cursors more to the right of the page. Also no offense to you lefties, my Grandma's one, but something like 90% of the population is right handed :P

I actually had no idea the shopkeepers were clickable or that they refreshed the page, ah ha ha...

Learn something new every day on this site.

But I concur with the suggestions for these images, as in addition to the reasonings above, this is a huge part of how long it takes pages to refresh (at least for me on my junky laptop). That image with its size trying to load, competing with the images of all the items, doesn't help matters much.

I would get so annoyed if the shopkeeper weren't centered. It just...shudder

I wouldn't mind if they were sized to be smaller (although I like the detail on the large images) but I would not prefer shopkeeper on one side and the text on the other.

What if the shopkeeper were still centered, but smaller, and their message was on one side? I understand what you mean about them not being centered, it wouldn't be as aesthetically pleasing. But the way it is now, many of the stores with full shopkeep images + the name of the shop + the time since the last restock + their message take up basically the entire screen. Before you even get to the items. It's a huge waste of space.

Eh, I think it might be an OCD thing. Having the text on one side and not the other would just feel unbalanced to me. shrug It's a personal preference, but even Reischen makes me twitch now and again.

Given there's a bunch of rows of items to scroll through anyway I don't see it making much of a difference, IMO.

I'm more bothered that the user shop rows are hugely wide now and it take forever to scroll scroll click scroll just to edit shop stock. That's what kills my scrolling finger and what I would put as a higher priority than shopkeeper alignment.

yeah, I get that.

What do you mean by 'edit shop stock' though? You lost me there, sorry XD

OH NEVERMIND I JUST SAW YOU SAID USER SHOP

Yes that's annoying, haha.

And I wasn't so much saying shopkeeper alignment was the highest priority, I was just offering a suggestion I thought would help with one of the problems with restocking. User shops are a whole other can of worms that we could fill pages with, pfft.

Could you tell me how to do that? I have adblock but I had no idea I could block the shopkeepers with it!

right click on any image and you will see a bunch of options, from the top i think the sixth option is adblock. In chrome it has its own walkthrough, on FF choose the image file only (extention name .gif) and the image is blocked!

the shopkeepers are a link - if you click them, it refreshes the page. It's faster than refreshing the browser or pressing f5, in my experience. I've been playing around with it just now and blocking the image takes that option away.

yes it does, its a small price to pay seeing as the image + shop blurb leave just one row of items visible :/ esp in cases of Apothecary and Smithy where when they are fully stocked the good stuff is always in the second row and rsing them is time sensitive.

Personally I think it'd make more sense to have them laid out like updated quests for consistency. Though tbh I just like the bigger images XD Having a wider screen makes this layout preferable to me too P= so I'm pretty biased here.

ooh I like that! I have a widescreen as well but my res only goes up to 1600 x 900. Yours appears to be a fair amount wider than that, I'm wondering how well that would work on smaller screens - it might just recreate the same problem, as you would then have a reduction in the number of items in each row. Although there's still a lot of empty space there, all of that could easily be pushed closer together to create more space :)

the current layout drives me around the bend THIS is what the shops look like to me, the white space man ;A; When the quest pages get to below 930px wide the info on the right drops down below the character image, so I think that might stop the rows getting too short. I'd presume the minority/only phone users have screens that narrow at this point.

One big problem is that some shops have such a large number of different items that Normals turn up less often than Super Rares in other shops.
