what youre saying is that they raise naturally due to supply and demand, collection items naturally have lower supply as they're put in to collections, so the price goes up, eventually a lot, as it should. Subetans in general have this ridiculous notion that they should never have to pay that much for an item because it'll just be released again at some point for 1/100th that. Only it's not ridiculous because it's true. That is not conducive to a good economy.

I feel like this is getting slightly aggressive and I don't mean to come across that way sorry =x

I'm just a bit confused by your stance as the staff have said that they are open to ideas for how to get these into TC/Galleries as well without leaving the items open to inflation by people buying them to hoard. They aren't hating on the TC collectors, they're trying to discourage people from making a profit by just throwing something in a vault and unfairly charging users 10x the price in the future :) - as well it not actually being possible to transfer to TCs currently. There has been some good suggestions for how to get things into TCs on this thread so hopefully they can code a way to make it work.

But why shouldn't things be rereleased? Why should collections be impossible just because you weren't around 5 years ago? As someone who has struggled with collections before - often it's not a matter of price but the fact that there are literally no items to be bought ._.

Collections were also easier 5 years ago because there was simply way less to have to buy :/ If you add up all the collection/plot etc collectables that have had to be added since then then imo the newer collectors have more than paid their due.

YES! That's precisely it! :)

I don't want people paying an arm and a leg for something, yes. But saying "you collect therefore you deserve this for waaaay cheaper than someone who collects for a TC or a gallery or whatever else they want to do with the item" is irritating.

Because if that's the logic, can I get straight to hair salon cheaper hair styles? You guys can have your 250 csc hair coupons to flood the market and I can redeem the hair straight to the hair salon for 50 csc, okay? Sounds good? Because that's what this is.

Sorry, I don't mean to be aggressive towards you. If that's how it came across, it's because I'm like wtf over this. My entire point is price discrimination based on what you do with the item. :s Even if TC/gallery people eventually do get to buy the items, I hope they aren't at higher prices than what the account bound were, which is what staff is saying on this thread.

I agree on that point 100% it should not be about price at all, but about availability. So, if there are 3 that have sold recently for 250m, why should the price be 50m, is it just because there's no chance they'll save it and sell for 300m? That's what I'm saying.

But then where is the fairness in selling it for 250mil when all that person did to earn it may have been to click for an hour and buy it for 100 points, then sit on it for years?

Just because people did something sooner doesn't mean they are entitled to sell something for hundreds of millions.

Yeah I mean I totally love the thrill of wondering if the page might load!

No, if selling csc was removed today I wouldn't care what the price was because the site would die in a matter of months. On the flip side it's a luxury to have time to earn sP on a site that wouldn't exist without csc. I can't recall the post I made, though, expecting staff to sell all of the prizes (or at least the ones I purchased) for cash shop credits or the equivalence in sP? Feel free to show me that though, I'm running on 4 hours of sleep and 6 hours into a work day so I might be deliciously posting?

The point is why should work in the past be lowballed for ease of today? If the hardcopy costs more than just get the collection direct version. And for the record your weapon would be sold for 50m too, not 500m remember no one cares what you did for it and worse case it can just be nerfed.

If everything 5ever is dirt cheap yeah that's great buy stuff but the worth of sP is never going to get better if the sP isn't removed and a few million here or there isn't going to help. Neither is damning people who use money to play the site? I get it, you don't like me because I choose to spend my extra money on subeta-- I don't care, world peace ain't a thing-- but here IS the thing: time doesn't keep anything operational. If people don't give subeta money, there is no site.

because they sat on it for years? that's the tradeoff? they could have sold it then for a decent price and used that sP otherwise... that's what investing is. Subeta really needs to have an economy where investing in items is viable, which won't really happen until there's significantly larger active user base, but still, there's no reason to set such a bad precedent as significantly devaluing what should be long term investment items.

Perhaps for the wardrobe have them so they go directly to the wardrobe but can't be removed, just deleted. That way people can buy them as wearables but only those who worked to get them in the past can have them as gallery items.

That may require a whole reworking of the system though and may be way too complicated.

I agree with all that said. This is really making me feel like my goals are invalid because I'm not into official collections like apparently everyone else is. Basically if you're working on a collection here's an asspat but if you wanted the item for something else you can go screw yourself and prepare to pay more.

You like collections? Here's your item for half as cheap! You like TCs? Pay twice as much. I feel like if they're going to make the items available for people to purchase, people who weren't around to participate, they should make it the same high cost for everyone, no matter what they want to use the item for...

I mean, I know they don't want the "market flooded" but I really don't see people buying like 10 items for 50mil each and ... putting them up for sale for what? More than they paid? Then other people could just go buy it for cheaper from the shop? Or they sell it for less and lose on profit (why would someone do that??)? Not really understanding how this flooding the market thing would work, if someone could explain...

EDIT: Also! It's not like this in any other part of the site as far as I know? For example in the Vesnali shop, the blooming teas are both edible and wearable. People who want a Dancing Chai Blooming Tea to feed to their pet don't get to pay 15 coins, it's still 30. 30 for foodies and 30 for wardrob...ies. 60 if you're into both. Having different prices based on interests is just... wow...

This is right on the money with what Ive been thinking and most people are saying.

It ridiculous that people expect X item to hit a ceiling price just because they expect it to be reintroduced into the system (and well, the user base has been conditioned (Pavlov?) to expect such a result because it has been the case over and over again). In fact, it's utterly BS.

That's like saying real life art collectors all decided 1 mil was the max amount they would pay for a painting because in the future they could just clone da vinci and get his paintings at a lower cost and at a higher volume.

what said is valid. Lets say A wants a food item to be in a gallery. B wants it to be fed to his/her pet. Why does A have to pay X times more for just happening to enjoy/collect the site item differently? While the compromise idea is not a bad idea, you guys should have just set it as a high price and give users free range.

how is 25mil an item EXPENSIVE? Collections aren't supposed to be cheap to complete. Illyria (did i spell that right?) spent 1B on the monkey item (1 fucking billion). For battlers, a "cheap" t12/high leveled staple weapon is 500m+. And Godlies sell for 3-4bil (last was sold for 3.5b i think? im not sure, before that i remember WoTP sold for 100k csc coz it was on tumblr). And this is for quite a broken battling system.

I'm super happy this is finally a thing (like really really happy), since it's a good step on making collections possible.

But I'm kinda afraid of the prices they'll have. Considering how much time I spent finding the pirate plushies for sale, even a high price as 50m seems really cheap to me (note that here I'm considering the effort of finding the seller, not how much I paid for them). The problem with collections was that there weren't people selling them at all, not that they were expensive. If you're willing to spend 50bil in a plushie, you still couldn't get it since no one wanted to sell it. So making them available is already a HUGE help for collectors. I don't see the need to make them super cheap so you can get them with 2 days of questing.

If you REALLY want to have a complete collection, I don't see how spending 50m in a plushie is crazy at all. After all, if you're not REALLY into the plushie collection you'll probably never complete it.

Love this idea and definitely looking forward to seeing how the clothing is handled too. =) As for flooding the market, maybe make it a timed thing like the Token Shop or Millionaire Center where you can only buy like two or so items per day? (This has probably already come up as a suggestion but I don't really want to have to read through all of this to check. xD )

I disagree at certain goals being more important or more "authentic" than others. Honestly, the only thing I personally put merit into on-site is pets and their treasures. Relatively speaking, having completed pets and treasures account for a pretty small part of gameplay (well, achievements and rewards at least.)

Trust me, a great solution for the other items is my ultimate goal! the only items I care about on-site fall into that "non collection" section and mama needs some stuff!

We're not trying to tell you guys what to do, which is why we haven't just implemented this feature that locks items that otherwise aren't used up when used for their intended feature. We're just trying to encourage more people to work on collections and give them a glimmer of hope that it is possible, because right now it isn't.

@Sincerity The problem with a specific rarity, as elegant of a solution as that seems, is that it would prevent all of the existing items from being moved/sold/whatever as well. It's the same as if it was marked in the way that Loyalty Boxes are, it would render ALL of the items immovable.

Wearables are a bit different in that you can remove them from their intended use. These items aren't like that, once you use it it's gone. It does seem like people are torn on wearables and other items being "locked" in a way they aren't usually, which is why we were reaching out for other items.

@Memoria I'd imagine (I'm not a programmer!) it would work identically to the way it currently works. If your pet isn't hungry it won't eat. I can check on that, though!

@osterizer That's actually a really neat concept, I'd never heard of it!

@Necolasa Also a really cool idea! Maybe something to consider going forward. Prices could even increase as time went on to make the items progressively harder to get.

We really do get that people have spent lots of time and money on older items, which is why we're looking for options other than just free-range toss into the token shop kind of solutions. We want the game to be playable, though and hanging onto old items and expecting to make a profit has always been risky. Some items have been kind of immune to this, so we're working to tweak them without making items that are unbuyable and have been for years suddenly 5 mil in shops. If I recall, you've been fully in support of the price of pet slots/name changes being reduced over the years. If an item was worth it to you for X at some period in time, that was your choice to buy it. Again, we're not trying to just completely devalue them, but expecting items to only ever get more expensive isn't realistic on Subeta. We always try to get items back out there!

But why should they be impossible to complete? We're talking about pixels, these aren't works of art (sorry artists ❤) they are things that we can click a button and reproduce on the site.

As more users sign up for Subeta, older users churn (who have these items on their accounts) and items get put in collections we have a scarcity problem with these items. If one sold for 250 million, that item has to be sold for 250 million (or more) next time because it's likely one of the only of that item being sold on the market.

Also, Amber and Ariel have made it clear that we're interested in extending a system like this to people working on TCs, wardrobes, etc in the future. We chose one shop (two shops technically but from the same time period) and a few types of items that we can put directly into collections. When we push this feature we can observe what it does to the prices of those items and make choices about the rest of the items going forward. There have been some really great suggestions here (especially for TCs!) that we're looking at implementing down the road.

I never supported a drop in name prices, when the name swap board came up I was the one who specifically said it's already possible for 1.5k csc and that 500 csc was a huge loss of money because anyone daft enough to do it probably already does it :P

I said then I'd have paid the exact same price (1.5k) if only for the lack of stress involved but why would I boycott a cheaper price? Like no I'm going to stress myself out moving names for more money... that's absurd.

However, I've never said I think the price of anything should be 5k csc. That's, frankly, effing ridiculous and the fact that myself and others have paid that.. is ridiculous. It never should be that insane to complete a collection HOWEVER there's currently a book only obtainable by deleting an Ether.. which is 400m. That's absurd, too, so Idk why 5k is any worse in that regard and it'd be nice if that particular book was included in this antique shop but it won't be so it'll just rot on my wishlist 5ever. I digress, I never said 5k... I said I don't understand why it's going from such an extremely rare thing THAT was rare and expensive at the time of release is going to be reduced to a few million. That's just sitting on the opposite side of the spectrum and isn't going to encourage anyone to buy anything with a big pricetag because they can jsut complain and whine and get it for a million a few years later.

Like I already said I understand not everything should be expensive but it shoudln't be basically free either? The items had a point system originally I don't understand why they can't be priced based off that. I mean unless that be the case, which in case that 85m in my bank outta last me 5ever and I think I can just start wasting my money elsewhere because apparently subeta doesn't need it anymore since everything is just going to be cheap from here on out?

Thank you for basically saying well sucks to be you don't you feel stupid for buying something. I'll be sure to remember that every single time some new stupid book comes out and I can just plan to wait for it to to show up here instead of wasting money on it (:
