To me mask means around the eyes. But idk how we have handled these kinds before..how about all of the above?

I think I got myself a bad reputation around here this morning. My iV antibiotics are 4 hours on and 4 hours for around the clock.

So this morning when they were done and the machine was doing it’s beeping like it does when it is done I waited about 15 minutes for my nurse to hear and finally pressed the call bell. One of the aides came in and looked and said she would tell her.

Nothing

Anyway ther 20 minutes or so go by and I hit the bell again. Was told the nurse was with someone else but would be with me ASAP.

Nothing

Another 20 to 30 minutes go by and I rang again. She will be right there.

Now keep in mind I had been attached to this thing since 5am and had had less than 4 hours sleep because of these things, and it has been that way since I got here.

I desperately needed to pee. And bathe and brush my teeth and dress and just get up!

Finally an hour and45 minutes after it started beeping I gave up, got up and unplugged it and dragged it into the bathroom for some relief!

And then I got an idea.

I pushed the IV stand out into the hallway and shut the door the best I could.

It was less than 5 minutes before someone came and disconnected me.

I get being busy, something extra going on with someone else, whatever. But 2 hours! That's unconscionable. I do like how you got their attention - I mean at that point you would have been justified in having a screaming meltdown. Instead you quietly got their attention. Especially since you only have a 4 hr break - it was half gone by then!

(No need to answer if I'm prying, but do they consider you a fall risk? If so, evidence that you're walking around unsupervised -- like you pushed the IV stand into the hallway by yourself -- creates a liability issue for the home, and they're lucky they disconnected you before an administrator saw.)

[edit]Side note: I'm really an incredible baby. I can weather tissue biopsies and broken bones with suitable aplomb, but the moment I get an ordinary flu, I'm shivering and whimpering like nobody's business. I ate the last of the ice cream in the house and anything else just irritates my throat and starts me coughing again. I know this will run its course in another day or so, but I hate hate hate how I get overwhelmed by something so minor.

Trust me, I was having a meltdown on the inside. This girl was one I had problems with a few days ago and I am starting to think it is personal.

I am not considered a fall risk. Good thought on the liability issue though. I am not sure I would have thought of that.

Wish I could bring you some ice cream or something else equally soothing. I am a baby when it comes to that kind of thing too. I think it has something to do with having a fever. It always makes me want my mom.

Do you have to teach tomorrow? I hope not. You need to rest and get better. Here in the HOME they have restricted visitors to just two per person and no one under 18. And we have been asked to stay in our rooms.

My mom is a fall risk, so we've been down this road before.

I managed to get some ice cream. I do have to teach tomorrow. Bleah.

Do you know what virus we have? When the event started there were so many glitches I'm not sure what I ended up with. I know its not green, and I'm pretty sure its not white (which they said stage 1 was very subtle). So Yellow or Red???

: It was pretty miserable -- taught five classes with an increasingly raw throat. But I survived. No classes today until 3:30pm, so I've got plenty of time to rest before the next onslaught. Thanks for asking. Except for the throat, the rest of the flu symptoms are pretty minimal at this point -- I'm about out of the woods.

It sounds pretty miserable. Sore throats are no fun even when you can lay on the couch and drink tea. I imagine being forced to speak because of work would make it more so. Hope you rest well before teaching those ungrateful kids today!

I am home! Came home yesterday evening Have to go to UVA on March 5, which is an upgrade from the original appointment. Being sent home was on again, off again all weekend. FINALLY on for real!!

So what can I do for anyone? What needs taken care of?

Everything seems to be on track for now. I haven't touched the toy list since Survival started, but I'll get back to it soon.
