: Here's where the problem is coming from: the shops used to be arranged with five items on each row (you can see that in these old screenshots), and now they show six items on each row.:

Since we have to fit a sixth item in each row now, it's going to matter how wide the original graphic was. The Emma layout, for example, has plenty of room, but the candy store layout doesn't. I've played around with a few of these, and some of them are just so narrow that any fix we try to do will be ugly.
I think the better thing to do is to just put an announcement on the shop layouts page that some of these layouts are too narrow to fit six items comfortably, but give people instructions for how to do so if they want.
Sounds like a plan
: Done. Here's what I put.
We should find a graphics artist to patch these layouts up.
I love that you placed the blame firmly on Subeta's shoulders, where it rightly belongs.
Patch them up coding wise or...? .We have had horrible luck with graphic artists. I have given up even trying.
Well, that explains things. :/
No, I need further clarification on your statement about patching things up.
What I meant to say was Please may I have further clarification
I was thinking about getting something who had the ability to redo these graphics. Sounds like it's more trouble than it's worth, though.
Do you think they look outdated? I know they are old but I kind of thought most of them were still okay I never got files from any of the old GAs and the files for mine are on my old compute which is sitting here needs a new graphics card.
I didn't mean they looked outdated; I was thinking about having someone redesign them to make their columns wider. In any case, it sounds like that would be a pretty big undertaking.
See, this is why I didn't tell the reason I wanted clarification... I didn't want you to try to cushion your response. No backpedaling now! ;)
I can probably do it. I'm not great with the actual design part, but manipulating images is a breeze. Looking at the graphics, even without the layered images, I don't think it would be too difficult. There are well defined edges and/or outlines on most of the images. It would take a fair bit of time since there are two images per layout, but the second, repeating image should be easy peasy.
The only hard part will be figuring out how many pixels wider I need to make the "item box" - 75 ish? 100? 64? Or, I suppose that will vary by layout? They should probably all be standardized.
I can test one out. Try widening it and see how it goes. Post it and let you take a look and see if you want me to continue.

Thanks for your willingness to take these on! THe only issue I see with what you suggested is that it would not be just the repeat that would have to be adjusted but the header also. The top of the content area is in the bottom of the header image. These could be changed too but we might end up with some really huge, potentially distorted, images on some of these.
As far as a standardized width for them, I don't think that would be possible, The one with the wizard is probably the biggest and to make the others match that size would be some HUGE headers.
Or maybe I am not understanding what you are saying...
I wouldn't be touching the images. In the example below I would remove some pixels (the red boxes), then add some pixels in the box where the shop items show up (the green boxes).
The thing I was talking about standardizing is the width of the shop items area, where the black arrow is.
Anywhere that images intersect, like the white area with text, would simply be lifted out and added to another layer, the new pixels would go "underneath"
The cream area would end up slightly narrower, the blue section slightly wider, and images like the wizard or luna wouldn't change at all.
I had assumed all the jpegs were a standard width - 800 pixels or so?

omg I am so stupid. Of COURSE that is the way to do it! DUH
Yes, as far as I remember they are all the same width
I'll download GIMP. Probably spend a day or two learning it - all my experience is with photoshop. I've used a few online graphics programs for profile and pet profile images, but wouldn't want to do that for a project like this. So it will be a few days before I can show you a real example.
[edit] LOL and I'm being stupid now! I wouldn't need to modify two images - just modify the header then chop off the bottom to make a brand new repeating section. Duh!

- Hey everyone! I just wanted to give you all a heads up that I am back to school now, which means my time is back to being significantly limited. Pretend I don't even exist during the week :P Weekends, I'll be here!
Good luck in your classes ❤️
I'll be back in just over a week too gah.
Also waves hi everyone. Things have been not great and busy and stressful irl so I'm not super chatty lately but I'm trying to check up on adding things to sl when I catch them being released/approved. Much love to everyone who's been helping out with CWs when I haven't been on too.
, - I think I broke SubetaLodge... I may or may not have pressed the "Flush Cache" link (to fix one of the new minions), and I haven't been able to get SL to load for the past 20 minutes.
-- sorry I didn't see this sooner, but SubetaLodge is loading fine for me. We had a hardware problem a couple of nights ago (see this thread), and it's possible that when the site came back up the cache was in a corrupted state, but everything looks fine from here.
