I'll be interested to see how you feel about it.
: Watched the first two episodes. After seeing him as Michael Bluth, and before that, the Hogan kid, and before that, a Teen Wolf, I'm having trouble buying Jason Bateman in a dramatic role. I don't think he has the dramatic chops to go toe-to-toe with Laura Linney (and the second episode, where they went off their separate ways, really kind of confirmed that for me). I'll watch a few more episodes, but so far, I'm not really loving it.
: I accidentally knocked SubetaLodge offline today for a few minutes while backing up the site. Everything's okay now, but in case someone got in touch with you about it, you can blame it on me. (On the plus side: we have an A rating on the Qualys site security test)
How goes the new job? Have you gotten back to it or do you still need more healing time?
congrats! I don't know much about security and encryption. I've never understood certificates, only that my browser sometimes objects to them, or the lack thereof. My guy used to listen to some podcast about these things, but even though some of it was simple enough, the real info went over my head. I'm glad you understand it enough to give us a secure site. Thanks!

If you decide not to stick with it give Sneaky Pete a try. If I had to choose one or the other it would probably be Pete. With Ozark I may have just been needing a new drug lord since Breaking Bad ended.
I went back last Wednesday but yes, there is still healing that needs done. I just couldn't collect Unemployment Compensation anymore so didn't even have that paltry income. It is going good. I think I will like it a lot.
: Glad to hear you're enjoying the new job.
I think I'm less wired for crime drama than most people. I didn't care a whole lot for Breaking Bad or the Sopranos either.
that's promising! Having a job you enjoy makes such a huge difference.
Healing is such a chore. Because I'm hyper I tend to heal super fast, but I don't think things heal quite right. Hopefully things will continue to go smoothly for you, even if it does take more time.

Y'know -- with so few users on, you'd think I could nab SOMETHING from BHH...
In case anyone cares or needs me, tomorrow I start working 2:30 - 11 with Sunday and Wed. off. ick
: Ugh. Not the greatest shift, but I hope you find the job enjoyable and supportive.
I was a MUCH younger woman last time I worked this shift. Not that I don't stay up late anyway but I don't have to have my brain intact to sit here playing or watching tv
- Ugh, that shift is not the best. Hopefully it will be quiet though?
Is that permanent? Or do you move shifts around regularly?
I worked a similar shift for about 6 months and found it pretty awful. I'm no social butterfly and quite enjoy the hermit life, and even I found it completely disrupted whatever social life I did have.

Turns out I actually kind of liked it....for tonight at least. It was busy enough to make the time go pretty fast but not so busy I wanted to pull my hair out.
It is a semi-permanent shift. When more people come in I will be able to request a different shift, if I want to, Last week I worked 12:30 - 9 because it was the last week of training. I thought I was really going to love that time frame but turns out I really didn't. Since I hate getting up early I really didn't feel like I had much time to do anything before work and after work I was so tired I was afraid to lay on the couch to watch tv for fear I would fall asleep.
Interestingly enough, turns out having 9 months of just laying around, sleeping when you want and doing almost nothing makes it difficult to transition to working again! Who knew?
EVERY MONDAY FOR ME:
Interestingly enough, turns out having 9 months two days of just laying around, sleeping when you want and doing almost nothing makes it difficult to transition to working again! Who knew?
LOL - Me too... :P
Ha! Then I guess it is a good thing I don't have two days off in a row!
I liked the evening shift at first, but it really didn't take long for it to become a problem. I figured I'd get up early (but not too early) get some stuff done, go to work, then come home and do more stuff.
But in the end I was getting up with just enough time to get ready and get to work. Then I'd be up most of the night, sleep until my shift and so on. My guy, at the time, was working a 7am-3pm shift. So I was going to bed right when he was getting up. I'd be out the door and off to work before he got home. Then I'd get home and he'd be in bed within a half hour.
