Thanks O. I have made quite a few desperate phone calls including to my husband and they ahve all gone unanswered. I have applied for two loans online. They are most probably not going to hand me money in time to get to work any time soon though. like tomorrow. Or Saturday. Or Monday.

I am at a total loss as to what to do now. Other than like, jump off a bridge or something but any that are high enough to do the deed are far enough away I need a ride to get to them!

How far is work? Anyone you can carpool with for couple of days until a loan check arrives, even if it means chipping in for gas money?

I'd check out a local credit union, too -- they'll have better rates than anyone else.

Work is 22 miles each way. No one live here in this dinky little town. At least no one that works till 11 with me. I really don't know of anyone else that does either.

Georgie, so sorry to hear about your car issues. I've never lived anywhere I needed a car - sure places where it was easier, but I've always had access to decent public transit.

Well, I got to work and that was good. I got a rental through Tuesday night so I can get to work Sat. Mon. and Tues. My pastor said the church would be able to reimburse me for that. But still, it was %120 today for the rental. which I know is an excellent price. THe guy felt sorry for me I think. But I also had to get full coverage insurance which was $125 added to the $100 for the tow truck. I mean, good thing it was payday yesterday but I was planning on paying existing bills.

The loan place here in town called me tonight while I was at work. IDK if it is good or bad news cause they did not leave a message. Not counting on good though. Nothing seems to go that way so why get my hopes up?
