oh so cute I'd be interested adding one of my Lavellans, I just don't really have their back stories really worked out

I'm the worst. I didn't write anything for Alleria yesterday. I just did laundry and watched Doctor Who and Torchwood (I still can't deal with the fact that Ianto is played by Gareth David-Lloyd, Solas' VA. It's always weird finding video game voice actors in other things. A lot of the Inquisition VAs have been on Doctor Who and/or Torchwood. Oh and then there's Cullen in Pirates of the Caribbean.

I want to do some noodle baby snippets. I'm basically putting Georgie's entire story plus the noodle baby canon into one long ass piece of garbage. I'm skipping around and doing things as I get the inspiration. I'm scrapping some of what I've written already because I went back and decided I didn't like it. I also decided I want to delve more into stuff like Cullen and the lyrium withdrawal, Georgie's back story, dynamics between the Trevelyan family, all that good shit.

ME ME ME! I've never actually tried to write incorporating other people's OCs. That sounds like it could be fun.

I haven't bought Descent yet. I'm not exactly looking forward to it because I hate the deep roads but that won't stop me from buying it and playing it.

I'VE BEEN WRITING. I haven't written anything in forever so for now it's gonna just be snippets, maybe once I've got everything figured out this can turn into something larger. ;u; But I'm excited.

Tbh watching TV shows sounds like a nice way to spend a day, I've been mostly just drawing last-minute stuff for a con while watching Cryaotic's Let's Plays, hah. I've seen a couple of eps of Torchwood, isn't Merrill's VA also in that one? And yess, Cullen is that one officer in Potc, it's great. ❤️

I really enjoy developing my characters so that they can interact with other people's OCs, be it romantic/familial/platonic or absolutely at each other's throats kind of relationship. Makes brainstorming and writing about them much more interesting.

Aw yis, it would be super neat to build a nice clan with all of you guys. ;u; I don't really have anything all that substantial yet either, all that I've really got so far for Quil's clan dynamics is that he has a friend/sibling/romantic partner (idk which yet tbh, if anyone wants to insert their character here they're more than welcome bc so far I've been just using a dummy character to fill the role). Quilahn calls them 'little blade' (da'mi), and they maaybe probably perhaps do scouting for the clan, while Quil mostly tends for the halla and does stuff at the camp since being a blind mage doesn't really lend itself to being a useful scout. So he just worries a lot for their safety. I'm also quite tempted to include a forest/field fire of some sorts but idk how cliché that would be.

I basically am carver so ofc i love carver heheh,, I imagine, that hes a very awkward flirter, who tries to flirt like hawke does (seeing how successful at that he is) and even if he fails to, its still adorably awkward.

Tsk i love drawing, but i wish my style was a lil more consistant, although it only probably changes according to whats comfortable for my wrist or smth. i gues its why i have trouble with interactions in drawings? my wrist gets real tired easily eugh.. (/gestures to my new forum img, my cute lil mahanon <3)

i seeee, I'd probably take bull and viv with my lavellan then, not sure who else tho, when and if i get the dlc. Def not varric, i wouldnt want my best friend to suffer the deeps /again/, but blackwall would be real useful.

Ooh Alleria is dual wielding so I could see her as Quils whatever we decide on. I personally could probably make any of the three work. If I kept it in her canon playthrough it could actually be really interesting for me to play with since I ghink clan Lavellan was slaughtered during the protect clan Lavellan war table operation chain. This has potential. I'm at work eightb now though

You've got a really neat art style, Mahanon is a mega cutie ❤️ Although I know the feeling, I wish my style was more consistent as well. :c Every time I switch from pixels to traditional to any other method, I feel like my style changes drastically. I've got similar issues with my wrists, after getting CTS repeatedly I've actually just started to wear my wrist braces every time I draw since it helps to keep the pain to a minimum. (also for other health reasons but ppplplt.) Just remember to take breaks often and stretch your hands to avoid carpal tunnel syndrome, don't force yourself to draw if it hurts!

I really like working on backstories, shaping them out usually helps me to connect more with the characters c: Although they ARE a bit of a pain in the arse since there is usually just so much you need to take into account, so many different routes to take. I was thinking that if I properly figured out and wrote down Quil's backstory, it would give me a better grasp of him as a character during DAI's events and after. Also, our Lavellans seem to have rather similar skintone and hair, hoho. Any chance Mahanon would need a sibling? c;

I actually sold my console to a friend a while ago so I can't even play Dragon Age for a couple of weeks now until I get my hands on another, this is the worst timing for DLCs. )8 I actually quite like the Deep Roads though, they always have so much interesting lore. And I can't wait to see how horrifying they're going to be this time, even the little caves we got to see in Storm Coast etc were super immersive and a little bit frightening.

Ooooh good good, I could definitely see that happening! Perhaps not (blood-related) siblings since they look rather different, but I could most certainly see them as bffs or romantically involved. I don't think I've yet done my clan Lavellan quest so I've got no idea if I'll manage to save them, but having them die in Quil's canon too might make things interesting.

So if you get his backstory down, i could look at it and try to tack on things about mahanon if i can come up with them. I'm all up for building relationships and headcanoning on how he acts around that individual, and personal interests,, but when coming up with other stuff i cry sigh and go onto drawing instead. Should probably add that it hurts to type a lot :')))

im nearly done my playthrough with mahanon, sadly, i wish the game/main plot were longer so he can have more intimate time with bull :^) So much could've been done in the writing of the game, such as lengthy discussions and scenes about the mark and how it's affecting the inquisitor, but oh well. (hopin' for a 4th game thats beautifully long and well writen, probably bringing up the da2 crew or da:o crew, especially zevran. Possibly situated in antiva or places we've never explored before!)

Omg thank you ;U; At first Quil was supposed to just have super crooked teeth, but now I've started to hc elves with sharper teeth in general (and the cat-like reflective eyes!), so he's got.. crooked sharp teeth. His smile is a wee bit terrifying. if you're not used to it. :')

I've got braces for most of my joints due hypermobility (not fun), but I noticed that they also work well for drawing-related problems, which is pretty neat. I'm pretty sure that you can get regular supportive wrist thingamajigs from most drug stores (at least here you can, idk I'm not from either US or UK so I've got no clue), although the better ones have these tiny little metal bones that keep your wrist in place proper. It does make drawing anything with curves a bit challenging though, so I tend to prefer the regular support ones. I'm really bad at taking breaks, but I've tried to get more routinized to taking breaks after every hour I spend drawing, but usually I end up taking my first break after five + hours or something, it takes me forever to ever finish anything. ;;

Ohoho, good good, I'm glad you're up for the idea of our babes being brothers. ;u; And ikr, I wish the game was so much longer / had more companion interaction, it's what makes these games so immersive and interesting. I could just talk to NPCs and companions for hours. :c Quil romanced Dorian, but I am so .. curious.. about romancing IB with him as well.. (although brothers dating the same horned giant miight b a little bit awkward.) I'm also not entirely sure if I want to romance anyone with Quil for his actual story, or at least any non-original character. Let's just say that for now, everything about little Quil is a mess.

AND YES. Give us Zevran, Bioware. Just give us Zevran. I'd love to see a game focused on ANYTHING but Ferelden/Orlais, I'm so curious about Antiva and Rivain and Tevinter, just.. literally anything else than boring old Ferelden for a change hah. Although it was super nice to see just how much Haven had changed since DA:O.

I thought that if its in Antiva, we could have characters they grew up in the crows, depending on the story. We'd get to meet, have him as a companion, AND romance him again, i just love zev and i want him back. (snorts i AM a proud ferelden, /coughs at me bein carver) Idk abt tevinter, but if it involves us helping dorian fix the damned nation i am IN.

Aah, Mahanon is a darling ;u; At first Quil was supposed to be very shy about his teeth and would talk with a hand in front of his mouth, but after I made him blind, I doubt he much cares about that particular thing anymore. He does smile quite readily by nature. (His actual name in my game is just Jonquil because I got too impatient trying to decode elvhen, but being the linguist nerd that I am, I've been since trying to include a proper Dalish name for him as well. [ Sulahn = to sing / Sulahn'nehn = joy, so I figured that I might use certain parts of the root words to come up with something of my own hah. Then again, the word 'ahn' also appears in the word 'away', which.. makes decoding the meaning a little bit more difficult, since there doesn't seem to be any correlation at all. It's a shame that we have so little to go on when it comes to canon dalish, I'm so used to Tolkien elvish having literally everything and then some. XD ]

Ouch, I remember what it was like back in school, I started wearing braces in high school because the pain would get pretty unbearable otherwise when we had to take notes. :c I'd definitely recommend bringing the topic up with your parents if you can, it might help with the pain. I take far too long breaks from drawing in general, I can be weeks without doodling much and then spend the next month drawing every single day, it would probably help trying to be more consistent.. Ohh that would be absolutely adorable oh no. ;-; Especially in Skyhold when Quilahn is still getting used to the whole human settlement thing [and living in the middle of constant repairs and renovations, that can't be all that safe when your surroundings are constantly changing and overall very unfamiliar. Once he gets used to a place though, he'd be very precise about not accepting any help, unless he was feeling particularly vulnerable. (or affectionate.)

I'm romance-repulsed aromantic myself, yooo. It's nice meeting other arospec people hehe. I do love my fix of fictional romance though, but I also really love inserting parts of myself into my characters... which probably explains why so many of them are aromantic. Can you see my dilemma. I was actually supposed to romance Bull at first for the .. exact same reasons why Mahanon is with him (safety and care, but also v spicy relationship < u < ), but then Dorian happened out of the blue. He and Quil do have quite a lot of differing opinions they need to work through though, considering Quil was quite ready to punch him in the face when they first started talking.

Aah I love OC interactions so m uch that sounds so good. ;; Please blabber on, I love hearing and talking about this stuff. Me and have wardens traveling together, and at some point SOMETHING happened and our total rival Hawkes ended up together, oops. The actual best thing about Dragon Age is how well everything works for story purposes.

I'm still so bitter we didn't get more of Zev in DA:I, I mean come on, just a couple of letters? That was just unnecessary. I'd love to see some crow plot tbh, there's so much potential. We've known since the first game how infamous the order is, and just how much power they've got in Antiva and in other countries. A character growing up as a Crow trainee would be more than interesting. Also I'd really love to play a game where the main character is not in charge of everything? Tevinter in general could be incredibly interesting imo, there's so much conflict and old lore to discover, I want to know more about the connection between the Old Gods and the Elvhen Pantheon, dammit. (.. I still haven't played any of the new DLCs, so if there's more abt those, please don't spoil me. ;A; ) SEHERON. Fog warriors and the whole Qunari vs Vints situation would be also interesting to delve deeper into.

I thought abt giving mahanon a custom name, but i cant find anything i like,but i actually am really fond of just mahanon, obvlsy with my un and all! i think it suites him quite well. Hmm, i think mahanon would come to skyhold with quil, knowing he'd need help with adjusting with the human surroundings, and tbh i think he'd give forehead kisses and hair ruffles before leaving quil to his business and private conversations unless he needs to stay, smth he'd do as they were growing up? And hey, its canon i think, that dorian is into bondage and stuff as well (i mean,, he DOES get with bull if you arent romancing either of them) and i do the same with characters, except a lot of the characters are not my characters, just ones i relate to. (this would kinda make carver agender and demiromantic/sexual lmao)

Ooh boy, mahanon and tally (my friend's lavellan) are very close. They like to wake up early and cuddle and talk about how their nights were over a bottle of wine or two, and tally would help mahanon comb and braid his hair, as he'd talk about adventurous nights with bull. Before he even noticed he actually /loves/ bull, he seeked her out to help maybe figure out his feelings, as he wasnt really in love beforehand, and tally would talk him into pursuing his love interest and even provided moral support by being somewhere in the back ground while he asked bull abt it?? Tally and mahanon also are prone to platonic kisses and stuff and its really sweet, bc he'd smile, which he rarely does, and kiss her hand as a thank you for helping him bc, and she's real happy bc she loves seeing him happy! In orlais, if hes inquisitor, he'd be faking his charm bc under it, he'd be seething with rage bc he hates how the nobles are belittling tally and him just bc they're elves, and tally, being less drunk and in control of her own attitude torwards the nobles, she'd watch him and hold him back in case he lashes out at one. Bull would also do this. prolly distract him him a quick personal session ;))

We discussed tonight, that if tally was the inquisitor, mahanon wouldnt want her to go to the conclave, and would be absolutely torn after hearing abt the conclave's explosion bc he feared tally would've died, which lead him into alcoholism and a habit of running away. She was his best friend and he let her go. (he'd be the same, maybe worse with quil as the inquisitor) but as hes wandering around alone, prolly drunk, they run into eachother and mahanon just breaks and they hug and he shakes and sobs and hes so in pain bc he thinks its a dream when they meet up again. always gotta give ur characters some emotional pain heh.

Mahanon is actually a really good name, and it could easily have a Dalish meaning as well! I poked around the dictionary and there's some stuff that could possibly lend meaning for the name, although obviously it's up to you if you decide to use any of it.
Ma = My/mine or you/yours hanin = glory (ma-hanin, my glory) hah = old, ancient. This one I took from the word hahren (elder, but the literal translation seems to be old voice/mind since the root 'ren' appears in words related to those.) nehn = joy (ma-hah-nehn, my ancient joy) Can't find anything if there's something that could affect a vowel switch like gender affects lethalla/in, but I wouldn't really put it past the language. Oh god I'm so sorry, I'm a horrible language nerd. Meanwhile Jonquil is just an english word, so I've now started to headcanon that Quilahn uses the name in Skyhold either to hide his real name or just because he's kind of tired of everyone mispronouncing his real name, but I'm not sure which reasoning I like more. Or it's a nickname, either given to him by the clan or Varric.

FOREHEAD KISSES are so important, oh gosh. Quil is quite affectionate, he likes touching people (although obviously only with their consent), gentle hand resting on a shoulder or fingers petting the inside of a wrist, little calming things. I don't think Quil becomes an Inquisitor at all (i think he might become a companion or advisor though), so he could technically still hang out in Skyhold even when Mahanon is the Inquisitor.

And yeah same, I love diverse character headcanons I can relate to, especially when it's my faves.

I was having a PotC marathon last night, I'm on the 4th one (the only one I haven't seen before). I just fucking can't anymore. I'm like only half watching so everytime Groves speaks I'm just like, Cullen plz.

(jumping into the conversation sorry :x) This will be good practice for me building characters. I don't have screenshots at the moment I'll have to grab them later but my two Lavellan are Bryluen(mage, romanced Iron Bull) and Kian(dw rogue, romancing Solas) both female. Bryluen was my first playthrough so not much thought has gone into her. Kian has a little more thought put into her but that mainly boils down to grumpy. I probably can't handle two characters so I need to pick one.

That war table mission is the freakin worst. That happened in my first playthrough and I was devastated when I read it. Waht made everything worse though was no one mentioned it? Like the Inquisitors whole clan/family was just wiped out and no one is gonna say anything? Uh that made me so mad.

Two things I'll never be able to do, make Cullen take the Lyrium and sacrifice the Chargers. I have exiled The Wardens (kept Blackwall though) and let me tell you that about broke my Warden loving heart. I always say I'm going to do those things, and then I don't.

ooooh boy, i love both of the translations you provided for Mahanon, although i have a little bias over "my Glory" (just like, a small bit of bias) and don't worry about being a language nerd, its nice to get to know a lil more elven for future use heheh

mahanon is only very affectionate towards Quil, Tally and Bull (i mean... sometimes they get it on a lot in the tavern opps), and i myself have a preference to Mahanon being inquisitor to protect his family and clan, and the fact that he'd be kinda the most powerful in thedas and he likes being dominated /snorts But it's mainly bc he wants to fix the fucked up world and make lives better for those being discriminated (Quil is a elf AND a mage so thats smth he needs to protect) even if it means risking his own life. He'd love to bring Quil along, on most of his quests, except for ones he's worried that will be too dangerous, even if hes sure of quil's own power.

Also, before the whole conclave thing, Mahanon would braid quil's hair if asked to, talking to him in dalish and listening to what quil has to say, just generally being a good (older?) brother to him. He knows how proud quil is of his fabulous mane, and would reassure him that it'll grow back? May i ask why he has to shear it off?

No worries! Working together is always good for character building, i find. I say feel free to jump in at anytime when you have ideas!

Yesss you've heard correctly, a da game built and mainly within antiva with a pc crow recruit who can have zev as a companion and a LI, tsk, something i bet EVERyONE wants in their life i mean, who can resist that bisexual? (useless as he may be, hopefully hes still has the insufficient pick locking skill and still asks if he can have a try ;)) But he certainly picked his way into my heart) I think everyone is bitter abt the lack of zevran in both da2 and da:i. :^))

I'm kiind of tempted to suggest that Quilahn is older of the two, just to switch around the caretaking trope a bit. Would make them arguments quite interesting, if Mahanon doesn't want to take him on missions he considers too dangerous, so they just end up bickering about it. "I'm the Inquisitor!" "Yeah but I'm older than you!"

Also imagine Quilahn and Bull really talking for the first time, before they've been just acquaintances but when family is involved, Quil gets protective as hell.

Aah, all the hair-braiding and touching and pillow-talks, yes good. ;; His hair ends up getting him in a few near-death situations (someone grabbing his hair in battle despite it being braided and he thought it was safely tucked away under his armor. Cassandra ends up hacking off almost half of it. They don't talk for a week. (which is childish, because Cassandra saved his life.) The next time it gets in the way is when he has ichor or other lovely gooey (probably poisonous) fluid sprayed on him, and it just won't leave his hair no matter how many times he tries to wash it off.

I'm afraid my reply is already too long but I AM HERE for all the emotional pain and angst, just bring it on.
