I think this helps not only as an sP sink, but also with the much more aggravating problem of Subeta's nepotism based battling system. As someone who has time and again spent literally tens of millions (often in one day) replacing crystals in borrowed weapons that aren't for sale anywhere, I can see how this would be widely used. I also think it would help stem the drop out rate that tends to occur in the middle tiers when people discover just how expensive weapons really are.

A wonderful and innovative idea!

I live in MN, and whatever you've heard... It's much worse.

One could charge SP for extra tickets at Ruffie Raffle; the first go would still be free, but you could buy up to extra 4 tickets daily, with increasing prices. E.G.: the first ticket would be free, the second 10k, then go to 20, 30 and 40k. Of course, it would require constant lifelike doll updates with more species/colors, so the sink remains consistent and attractive to the public.

Making the "SBQ invite" Random Event a tad more frequent would also help a bit, as people could use the store more often. Of course, not too frequent, though.

A new type of collection, with its own shop. We already have plushies, beanbags, stickers, trading cards... What else is there to collect that doesn't make the site look like a rip-off of the competition? Postcards? Souvenirs from the Subetan lands? Those small bouncing balls we buy in those machines? Action figures?

More betting games. Like, a freaking Subeta Casino or something like that. Just put a daily limit so people don't get too addicted to the point of requiring help and we'll be fine.

Buyable premade site things, like profile/pet layouts, forumsets, and all that sort of stuff. some people are too lazy to make their own custom sets or don't really want to commission the artists/coders in the forums to have their shenanigans customized. Sometimes they might just want a generic flowery profile layout that costs 250k SP.

Buyable background music! I know, silliest idea ever, but the only person who would listen to it would be the user themselves, so, why not?

Entry fees for some competitions. Like, a small entry fee (on, let's say, a custom wearable or a writing competition) makes a world of difference when it comes to sinking SP (since it'll be literally thousands of people spending this amount to enter). Also, it makes people put more effort into winning.

Giving more use to already existent items. I mean, there are plenty of items that could be far more valuable if they had any use other than taking space in one's inventory. Making them wearable, playable, edible, part of a new collection or just plain useful in some way might increase its value by a little bit and make it more sought after in main shops.

Additions:

  • i would gladly pay to be able to add stickers to my own collection. Considering that last time I got my stickers stolen i was told that having others stick your album is at your own risk. So yeah, let me pay to avoid the risk.

  • A subeta kickstarter with sP. Working sort of like this:

  1. Someone suggests something and the suggestion is added to a list. (a list sorted in categories: eg: pet species, experiment, pet color, wearable, books, food item, minions, fix a certain feature, etc)
  2. People get to vote
  3. if it has enough votes it's turned into a kickstarter. eg: - raise 500 mil and you get an elephant pet. Or raise 100mil for a certain book referencing to a popular fandom.
  • 50mil to have the alerts fixed on certain features

Just throwing numbers around. It would be pretty intense on the artists though (and perhaps on the programmers as well if you include fixing things)

Since February started, I got 10 invites. Maybe 11 or 12. But, I got a lot. The event really is common enough, and it seems I'm not the only one. 200K an invite is really cheap.

Yeah, I'm also curious as to if anything mentioned thus far is being considered outside of the TC slots/hair styles..?

Were those two enough, or have the rest of the ideas mentioned been flops for one reason or another? It'd be nice to know if those two changes were enough so it's not necessary to keep grasping at straws and/or if certain things just aren't going to happen point blank.

I know we're about to nosedive into a large number of back-to-back events, and that some of these will definitely take more effort/consideration than others, and the minion battling too of course, but there's been a handful that seem relatively simple and that have had a fair amount of support such as pets having multiple minions or being able to stick yourself for a fee.

I'd like to know if anything is being considered/worked on (even if it's just there's a few we're going to do and hopefully they'll be released in the near future) or if we're just throwing stuff out here for no reason |D

I never thought I'd say this, but they should probably either reduce the RE or put more items in the shop so we can actually use them up.

THIS I mean I get more then 1 a month maybe 1/2 a week but I have to buy most of my invites myself. I would really hate for the price to go up though.. I'm buying 1/2 pieces a day usually and they already cost almost 200k a piece so thats almost 800k if you include the invites.

It makes you wonder if reducing the number of items was a good idea... less items brought + increase in cost in player shops doesnt really help sink that SP!

At the current Invite price of less than 200KsP, I don't even need to earn them from playing the site. They get distributed by Random Event, which is in relation to how much you play on site features that do a lot of refreshes. Battling takes up a lot of refreshes, and I have 22 pets and I train all of them and fight with all of them and I buy all the extra challengers. I would have nearly 100 Invites by now, but because of this topic I blew forty of them on makeup I'll seldom if ever wear.

We are not forgotten! has been able to get the data and is analyzing which combination of quantity of stocked items vs 'que Invites results in the most purchases from the Subeautique shop. This particular part of the whole exchange and only this part of it is the one that's the sink. The purpose of Subeautique is not and never ever has been "preserving the value of Subeautique Invites". It is not and never ever has been "preserving the value of the fashion items so you can restock them without any risk to yourself". (Want less risk? Do elixirs or jewelry, don't advocate messing with this feature.)

If making the Invites makes the fashion more available to more casual players, perhaps more sP is leaving the system, but only by poorer people? If you play this casually, perhaps you are not one of the people Keith wants to dump a ton of sP out of site. Does it matter if the fashion amuses our fellow players so they're getting something that's delightful for their sunk sP? I dunno. Right now I have all but the two newest Professor New lines, which are still too pricey for me who has a ton of sP to blow by buying from other users, so I'm buying extra copies of what's available to sell just for laughs. The Invites don't do me any good getting the newest items, I'm too old creaky and slow.

The more you play, the more invites you get. Between just doing quests and the random crap I do like checking the forums and whatnot I usually get at least 2 invites per day sometimes 5 or mroe if I'm buying a lot of items from user shops. If you play more, you'll get more :D.

BTW the subeatique items costing more from player shops is exactly the way to make it a good sP sink. If there is too many released and they cost less than user shops, no one is going to buy them from the tique and they're not going to take any sP out of the system. An sP sink isn't one person buying from another person's shop o.O. Of course it's a delicate balance to maintain the optimal supply to get as much items sold/sP out as possible but not to satiate demand and make them worth too little so they're not bought.

Has the idea of paying a certain amount to reset your stats so people at the cap can manipulate their builds? Like pay 5m and you can allot 50 stats into other stats. This lets builds be more flexible.

only problem with this is that HP is weighed differently in exp, but really who would put all their exp in str so they could reset it to hp. it would make more sense to buy hp boosters probably if this is set up correctly.

I said I'd ping you to this. Ideas?

I'm not totally against it but I think the idea of having it be based on the battle shop or xp cost (I forget what thread that's in, maybe the raise the cap suggestion) makes more sense as it requires direct effort in battling. 300m to directly spec out of all my 3k speed and into str/def seems a bit low, so I think the price would need to be raised considerably as well.

I just threw out numbers, didn't put any thought into them. 300m sounds like a good amount imo though.

I put it in sinks because they're more likely to put a sink in than some other battling mechanic, I didn't read the raise the cap thread anyway.

Not sure this thread is really being watched at the moment, but an sP sink just occurred to me. It's minor, but would also require minimal effort.

Make the Slots more expensive to play? I mean, 50 sP is such a small amount that it doesn't really matter if you doubled or tripled it, it would still be miniscule. Make it 150 to spin, put 50 of that into the jackpot pool. Sure, it's not a whole hell of a lot, but even at those numbers you'd be taking 5x more sP out of the system than it is currently.

Since it seems like a lot of the great ideas in this thread are not getting the proper attention they deserve... or they've been rejected. In any case, I'll add some more ideas.

[li] A sP shop that is like the token shop. Limited quantity, buy it quickly, etc.

[li] Transform Retired Currency shops into sP shops

Make people spend what they have left of their currency points. Give people a very good warning in advance before this is done. As of right now, I am simply hoarding points in some of these shops in case of some sort of Item Hunt emergency and/or because I see no reason to spend them.

I think the site is already planning something with Islander/Pirate shops. But the other ones should be considered as well. Many users dislike the idea of there being an enormous amount of different currencies anyways.

[li] New pet slots sP/CSC combo.

I believe there currently is a maximum of 5 from the CSC buy option (correct me if I'm wrong). So, 2000 CSC and an amount of sP that increases each time you buy a slot. The sP would be a substantial amount obviously. I'm not sure what's a fair amount though? 100, 250, 500 million? A billion? 5 billion (the richest user has 35 billion)? The people who are dying for more pet slots should probably decide whether this is a good idea or not and whether or not they would be willing to pay for it.

[li] Referral Points

The site has put some of the items in the token shop before. Why not just put them in the millionaire centre for a very very short duration (and it can be a very limited amount too, or added the sP shop idea above).

I'm out of bad ideas so I'll go away now.
