<p>The colossal sheepherder grunts and says that he simply “knowsâ€. DÃse could tell that this fact won’t satisfy your curiosity so she digs deeper. Finally Custenhin lets you know that he has some sort of magical connection to his sheep. Of course every single one has a name --- they are unique! Do you see the one who hobbles a little bit? Armin… The one over there with the broken horn? Otberga... And there, the sixth sheep from the right, between the one with the runny nose and the one with eyes like cave onyx? Volkward... They share an empathetic bond which causes them to “answer†if Custenhin calls for them. The giant and his mastiff share a look. His herd (and companion) seems to be like family for him. If any member would get lost he definitely could “feel†it. He’s THE mythological shepherd, you know?
<p>Your guide reminds you that it would be tricky to get Custenhins sheep “stood stillâ€. She doesn’t believe that the part where everybody falls asleep has something to do with the motion. It seems to be the pure mass. But this is something you have to try to approve or negate.

I'm pretty stumped. I'm going to want to know what sort of solutions people come up with, if the others don't mind. I don't need to know who comes up with what, but I do want to see the ideas after they're all turned in.

Just letting you know that Yitang Zhang (AKA Tom, his own choice of first name) is an actual person and one of the most brilliant minds I have ever had the please of hearing lecture. He also has a quirky sense of humor, so I'm sure he'd appreciate your conundrum for this chapter. :D
Before [DÃse] answers the remaining questions I like to have your opinion on something. So see this notice as some kind of "mini poll": Would it be okay for you/your team to share the solution to the current chapter with the rest of the participants? Of course it would be anonymized (just plain answers without usernames). asked for this and I like to have a mood feedback from the others. I'm fine with whatever the majority wants --- so please make a sound. 😎

I would be fine with that. I'm actually curious to know what other people will have done.
<p>Custenhin&;s mastiff may be huge and grim looking, but he remains a dog. He surely is loyal to his “owner†but he also knows his purpose in life --- which is to watch over the herd. So if you want to do something that doesn’t break the rules (such as harming its members) he’ll gladly help you with anything. Just try him. He loves to hunt and taking care of Custenhin’s sheep. Nobody knows their ways better than him.</p>

<p>Remember the colossal sheepherder is in need of your help so he won’t argue about the solution as long as you get the job done. (; He just wants to keep his herd intact and healthy, so using some sort of mark on them won’t be a problem. This is just aesthetical.
Since Custenhin knows all members of his herd by name he doesn’t see the necessity of collars. This matter is similar to the one with manmade boundaries: He wants his babies to be pure. Naked, happy and free.

I actually thought of that paradox, as well as the theoretical hotel, and integrals and limits. But I'm not sure how to apply it to this, nor does that video you linked make complete sense. There's a few flaws in it for me. However, the deadline is not past yet, so you should get rid of that.
