well, I found the add on a facebook group, and I can't go visit the place, and it's not going through an agency but straight from the owner which is always a bit more iffy. Also, the price is really great, and they always say, if it's too good bee suspicious. And he's asking for quite a large deposit. But well. We shall see.

It's actually even worse XD I send the deposit and they send me a letter saying that I have a right to enter the property and get the keys from the reception.

Ouch, 3 weeks is a lot to go without a pay cheque :/ If it's up to the city, hopefully there's some kind of compensation you can petition for.

Wedding stuff is nice, especially if you're not involved in the wedding party, you can just sit back and enjoy the festivities. I guess it's nice it occured on your off time, so there's no need to book it off?

I'm really enjoying this season, I wasn't a huge fan of last season tbh. The last few eps were good, but the rest of the season fell flat. I've really enjoyed this one, though. I'm impressed with how they've handled basically doubling the character count! And a character I really missed last season is back, yay.

Yeah, 2 weeks is standard in Canada, so 3 weeks vacation is actually really good. I'm planning on spreading a few days off here and there throughout the summer for various things. Then taking off some time in december - some friends have been talking about vegas.

Wow 9 years! That's commitment! I might have considered being a professional student too, if there was some subject I was passionate about. I always enjoyed school. Are you going to be TAing any classes? I know a lot of PhD/Masters students did that when I was in uni.

Oh! Good luck, I don't know much about living in Oxford. Depending where you're studying is placed in proximity to stations ect, it might be worth looking farther outfield and travelling in?

Well I did have to book it off to begin with, cause it would have fallen during work xP But yeah I'm going to use the fact that I didn't technically take a weekend off as leverage ;) I'm actually going to be filing a suit against whoever ends up taking the blame for loss of wages. I applied for EI earlier this week, but I'll be lucky to get like $200. I'm out about $1500 because of this whole thing.

Yeah I'm glad I have a bunch of sP stored up. And I actually don't spend a ton on it daily. I only buy items less than 4k. That's the cap I made for myself so that I don't drain my bank acct!

Ouch 3 weeks is a lot. It's completely understandable you'd need compensation. That EI is just sad. It's barely worth the paperwork. Three weeks off sounds nice until that reality hits. Hope it all gets resolved soon!

That's a cool way to sort of apply what you learn at least? I always liked teaching, it's just a really hard field to get into around these parts! When I was a kid, I actually wanted to be a teacher haha.

Yeah.. I finally went back to work today and turns out the pay is a HUUUUUUGE mess.

They didn't provide any info on compensation? Seems like the responsible thing to do as an employer? At least you're back. Was it busy?

Not super busy, no. I only had two clients and was sent home early.

They did provide information.. but they want us to lie on our EI forms and basically told me that we're not going to be paid for time owing.

Yuck, that must make you feel kind of crappy about work, knowing they're wanting you to lie. By not being paid time owed, you mean hours worked before the sinkhole? Are they even allowed to do that? It sounds illegal.

I don't add to it everyday, I save up to about 15mil and then buy lots of things haha
