Yeah, I'm starting in october, and then I have 4 years! So lots of time. It is pretty darn specific you're right, so yeah it does help! I'll be able to do some demonstrating during the 4 years I think, which'll be cool!

Are you going to get to take some time off during the summer, or will it not be possible with your just starting there?

Same on OitNB :) Been binge watching and I'm (sadly) almost done.

No group interview thankfully, it was just me! Only a few made it to interviews, so a lot of the people who applied probably weren't qualified.

Wow, 4 years! I didn't realize PhDs were that long, I thought they were like masters and took 1-2 years. You have to be pretty committed. Another reason you'll stand out further for jobs. How many years of school total will that be for you? I think I read somewhere the average lawyer/doctor have 7-8 years. Sounds like it might be more for you!

I get 2 paid weeks off this year. I usually get 3, but since I started later in the year one was taken off. I can take it any time I want. Plus I have 3 half days I can take off in the summer - it's a company bonus so everyone can enjoy the summer :)

I had a wedding to go to, actually! So my trip was full of wedding stuff. Went to brunch with a friend from university on Sunday and then headed back to my folk's place til yesterday.

I've actually not been around much either, surprisingly enough I've been in constant conversation lately with a bunch of random people online. I've not been getting a lot of work done because of it though, hah. I'm probably going to refrain from saying a whole lot today so I can actually work on some more coding, and maybe work on some fan art drawings I've been wanting to do.

I've been pretty good. Really bored - still not back to work, but doing well!

Nathan and I got into a HUGE fight last night and I'm actually having like an emotional hangover from it :/

Yeah, normal phds are 3 years, but since I don't start my project straight away, I have 4 years. I'll have done 9 years total XD OMG, I didn't realise how much I'd be doing till I just calculated it now. How crazy. The only thing that makes me feel better is I'm pretty certain my sister will do more than me, since she's a doctor and might be doing surgery as a specialty lol.

That's nice; I always find it so cathartic to talk over problems with people online. Probably since they're not involved so they can give perfect ousider opinions. Good luck getting everything done that you wanted to do!

It was a ton of fun! Probably one of the funnest weddings I've ever been to, actually! So much dancing and I got to catch up with a friend I haven't seen in a long time, so that was great! C: How are you doing? How goes the apartment search?

There was a sinkhole just outside my work about 2 weeks ago and the city hasn't let us back into the building yet. Just got word last night, though, that we'll be back to work on Friday - FINALLY!

We fought about stupid crap that we always seem to fight about. It's not super Subeta appropriate, but we've argued about it since we started dating and I'm SO sick of it. We haven't talked yet, no.

Oh my gosh that's awful! I can't believe that happened! There was a sinkhole in Greenwich about 2 months ago when I was still there, a car went into it but it was ok haha

Yeah a van went into this one and it spanned the whole length of the 4 lane street! They're finally getting it all sorted out, though!

I had a doctors appointment earlier (and another one tomorrow morning as well sigh), so I went to the shops as well, it's about a mile walk into work and me and my mum went on a 4 mile walk yesterday so my legs really ache haha
