No, it's true. I almost NEVER get to come home and visit. I was going to maybe leave after lunch today, but I just read an email from my boss to a client that says we're planning on opening late this week.. so I might hang around here longer and head back later tonight or even tomorrow morning - Nathan is always busy all day on Sundays so it's not like I'd be able to hang out with him anyways.

Not being paid REALLY sucks. I messaged my cousin who's a lawyer and asked what I'm eligible for and he said that it might be worth it to write a letter to someone once the blame is laid for the hole and try to claim lost wages. I'm out about $500 this week :/

Ah, Nathan didn't go with you? I guess he's still got work? You should stay, who knows when you'll next get this chance, especially if you've been missing home. It really doesn't seem like you'll be missing anything at work anytime soon.

I can't believe there's not some kind of system in place for situations like this! Plenty of people can't afford to miss a week of wages (or more, who knows how long until things are back to normal?) Like, isn't there someway to claim EI or some short-term compensation, when it's totally out of your hand? Also, I wonder if this will have any long-term effects, like people not feeling the area is safe and avoiding it? It's quite unfair.

He stayed in town. He had a bunch of stuff to do this weekend - he's getting ready for a camping trip next weekend. I just got off the phone with my sister and she begged me to come over and clean her house. She said she'll pay me with lunch. Sounds good to me ;) Her and her husband are teachers and are super busy doing report cards so I'll go help them out.

Yeah, it's really sucky, being salaried has a lot of benefits. That's not really an option in your industry, though, right?

I wonder if it's possible for the businesses in the area to sue because of this, especially if the aftereffects mean less business for them.

Not really an option, no. Which is once of the reasons I'm tempted to walk away from the industry soon-ish. I don't know. That and the scheduling are pretty crappy.

Yes! I am doing about 100 items at a time but they cost around 50k per item now! Occasionally there will be a random one for like 3k haha but it got very expensive very quickly!

Oh man she has some GREAT stories about her kids. I actually went into her class on Friday when I got to town and I don't know how she does it! There was like 5 kids all at once asking her questions and she handles it so well. I'd get overwhelmed. I actually have a degree in Biology, but never did anything with it. I've never had any big career aspirations. I just want to have a steady job that enables me to do the things I want to do, but I also want to enjoy what I do. I worked for a small private company for a while out of university and hated it 'cause I wasn't challenged and was bored sitting behind a desk not talking to anyone all day.

Ick. Yeah that's expensive. Lots of questing I guess, then! xD I've been buying achievement sets and they're pretty pricey too! Getting some food items and plushies. I've probably spent like 250mil so far.

Thank you :D Nope! It's mostly diy kinda stuff (paint, tools ect.) but there's plants and garden stuff, furniture, kitchens and bathrooms.

I'm only going to be a Cashier so I don't have to worry about the heavy lifting or know too much product knowledge. It's going to be interesting after being out of work for 3 years :O
