No, he had Carl with him when they met in Season 3...and maybe one of the women, don't remember for sure (maybe Michonne?). Definitely not Daryl though.
Yeah, I'm really enjoying this season so far. I was really expecting them to drag out the termites for much longer, I'm glad they ended it quickly. I had no sympathy for them - sure they were attacked, but that's a reason to beef up security, maybe even to devise some nasty tests for newcomers - but turning to cannibalism? They were too whiney and blamey and unwilling to take responsibility for their own behaviour, it was always someone else's fault.

termites? haha love it. I was afraid it was going to turn into just another bout of the governor. Yes, whiny. Glad they are done with so soon.
I loved Michonne's reunion with her sword! It was almost as good as Daryl and Carol. And it think it is dumb and total waste to be using the biggest guy in the group as a babysitter. UGH
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Yeah, and Michonne said she didn't miss her sword...just people. That was a LIE!
I'm in two minds about using tyreese as a babysitter - I mean yeah you do want a big powerful guy protecting the baby! On the other hand he's 'broken' - still hesitates to kill. Still feeling guilty for not saving Mika and agreeing it was necessary to kill Lizzie. Right now I'm not sure he'd make a good fighter in any circumstance other than, maybe, to protect the baby.

I am sure you are right about all of that but it still annoys me~!
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Well, I was right that it wasn't Carol in the bushes, I'm guessing its the guy with the limp. I'm so terrible with names!
So did Carol purposely get caught? Or did they get surprised?
I must say I was pleased that the rapist was killed by his victim, nice poetic justice there.

What I really want to know is why are all these unconscious people lying around and not getting eaten?
And when did Beth to be such a crack-shot? And where did all those bullets come from when she never reloaded?
And what was Carol doing wandering around Atlanta anyway? They have repeatedly been told it was overrun and to stay away.
And...what exactly happened after Beth got in that car last season? They totally brushed over it so fast that AI couldn't understand anything they said.
Your spoiler tag on the end has the wrong kind of bracket.
SPOILER (click to toggle)
I'm not sure what unconscious people you're talking about. In the elevator shaft? They were dead (brain deaded before being tossed down there) and partially eaten.
Daryl was training her while they were on their own heading to Terminus. Though I agree that gun had way too many bullets, not to mention that no matter how a good a shot you are, the kills in the dark basement were pretty extraordinary. Though at the end, a lot of the zombies were being killed by the 'cops' that re-captured Beth - but it was hard to see that, I actually rewound that scene and watched again.
I'm guessing they were following the car that Daryl saw 2 episodes ago - the reason they left to rescue Beth in the first place. During the escape, we see several cars with the white cross in the back. That would have led Daryl and Carol to the hospital/atlanta. And both Carol and Daryl have already been to Atlanta - in the first season they went to the Atlanta Center for Disease control, so they would have both known what they were getting into.
As for Beth getting kidnapped - from what I could figure she was fighting off a walker while separated from Daryl, she blacked out during the fight and woke in hospital. They don't say it specifically, but I'm guessing the "rescue" was the cops knocking Beth out, killing the zombie then dragging her in the car with them. She was just their type, seemingly alone, young, pretty, strong enough to survive, but weak enough to enslave.

the unconscious people they were "rescuing" and bringing into the hospital. Like Carol. And the other Doctor he got Beth to kill
Yes, Daryl was training her but I don't remember her being all that great/useful. She always just seemed to be boring and in the background or being helpless a lot.
IDK how you remember all that stuff! Like Carol and Daryl having been in atlanta before? I don't even remember the cars with white crosses. :x
I watch the Talking Dead, on after the show. It helps cement details and sometimes reminds me of stuff I've forgotten from previous seasons, or missed during the episode.
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Oh, I see. The cops made them unconscious, then took care of the zombies, then claimed to have 'rescued' them. The doctor who was murdered "fell out of a first floor window" just when the group was passing by no doubt.
True that Beth was never that useful, and most of the training happened near the end of their time together, just before she was kidnapped.
We see the white cross car twice - once when Beth is originally kidnapped in Season 4 - Daryl runs to rescue her from zombies and he sees the back of a car, its black with a white cross on the window. Then in Season 5 when everyone's at the church and Carol is debating just leaving in the car she and Daryl found when Daryl shows up to either stop her or go with her. They're about to go back to the church when Daryl spots the black car with white cross, and he and Carol jump in the car and go.
Then, of course, during Beth's escape attempt you see several of these cars in a parking lot. Ties it all together and gives us the final clues about what they were actually up to when they 'rescued' people.

I really need to start actually WATCHING the show when I watch it. :p I missed those cars at the escape and missed that he fell out of the first floor window. Must learn to watch and do nothing else!
Do you watch masterchef junior? It starts tonight and I am excited for it!
I got in the habit of watching shows that had "subplots" that were ongoing through the season. You could watch an episode, and never notice anything, but there would always be a throw away line of dialogue, or something going on in the background of a scene, that later on, when the subplot was revealed you'd go "ohhhhh! that's what that meant." Or in movies that had a twist at the end like "sixth sense" - if you watch it again, knowing the 'answer' you can see the clues throughout. Now I just look for that sort of thing as a matter of habit. I will also stop and rewind if I don't understand a conversation or something looks strange or odd.
As for masterchef junior, no. I've cut out a lot of stuff, mostly "reality" and contest stuff. I can't currently keep up with everything - my DVR is sitting at 85% or more and I DO watch stuff and delete it, but there's just too much! More gets recorded before I can finish what's already there.

I hear you on too much to watch. I go through that sometimes. Not so much now that I have moved though. I lot of the shows I did watch were because they were things I could stand and he liked so we watched together. I have dropped several of those now. Don't miss them a bit! Some days it seems like I have nothing to watch and some days it is way too much. Thursdays are the best TV day in my opinion, haha.
You do have a point. There is stuff on our DVR that's just for me, some just for him and some for both of us. It's funny how sometimes its almost full, but I can't watch anything because I need to wait for my boyfriend to be around to watch it.

"I am not a scientist!"
I totally expected that to be followed by "I am an Elvis impersonator!"

OMG LOL!! I suspected the truth from the start because the things he said just did not make sense. But one can never be sure with TV and movies if the character is lying, or its just bad science on the part of writers. I have definitely heard worse science spouted by characters intended to be "real" in context of the show (LOL Star Trek comes to mind for a lot of science gobbledygook).

haha, yes. After years of watching ER and Grey's anatomy and endless other medical shows I thought for sure I would be able to pass the medical terminology test, just for the fun of it. Well, no. I didn't make it to question 6. Of course, that was probably more me than the shows I have seen but still.
Nope, its not you, its the shows! I always hated when House had an episode featuring an illness I'm very familiar with because I simply could not "suspend my disbelief."
I've worked for a couple of disease based charities (not to mention my own illnesses) so in some very specific areas I have more than average medical knowledge. Every single time a show features one of these, it becomes very quickly obvious that they either don't know what they're talking about, and/or they are very, very willing to mess with the facts for "artistic" license, i.e they need the drama to move the show along.
I'm quite sure that even with shows who have professional consultants, they either don't listen to their consultant or they just don't consult them properly or fully.

any thoughts on this weeks episode?
Well a lot of loose ends got tied up :)
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Now we know who was in the bushes with Daryl, from....3, 4 episodes ago. Carol is not going undercover...though I'm still not totally sure of that. I was watching the aftershow and one of the guests made the point of "how did she get hit by the car...its not like there's thousands of cars around anymore." Both the movement and the sound should have alerted her. Not to mention they SAW the guys coming, that's why they were getting the hell out of there!
As for character development...that was just wow! I think I may have even more questions now. Did Daryl pick up the book about abuse for personal "self-help" - to better understand Carol - to better understand his brother Merle? All of the above? Also interesting that he wants the kid, Noah, to live in spite of stealing their weapons...then changes his mind when this puts Carol at risk.

yes! I feel like all those storylines that have been dragging along finally gave us a payoff.
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Part of me feels like Carol let herself get caught as part of a plan to rescue Beth. Part of me feels like no matter how much you want to rescue someone it would be really hard to throw yourself in front of a car. But yeah, how could she not have heard it coming?
I assumed Darryl picked up the book to help him better understand and help Carol. But your other suggestions are possibilities too. Though really I think it is not going to turn out to be much of a story point going forward. The book that is. It just seems like a little tidbit into how their relationship has developed.
Again, it took me a minute or two to realize who Noah actually was. Letting him live was a statement of his feelings for Carol more than he could have with words.
