I have been unable to get on SubetaLodge since yesterday evening. I've done all the usual, clear cache, shut down my extensions, etc. Even tried calling it up in a variety of ways, through google, tried opening the wearable cron. I finally tried a System Restore from 3 days ago, when I could get in. Nothing.

When I try to open sbl my working bar gets just under halfway, then it just sits there with the loading symbol, before finally giving me the Page Load Error, Network Timeout page.

Does anyone have any suggestions at all?

Laurie I think I very vaguely remember that now. It didn't seem to amount to much at the time.

try going to pagewash.com and going in through there. I really would guess though, if a system restore did nothing, that it might be something from your ISP. :/

I sort of remember that now that you pointed it out. I am impressed you were able to find the topic!

Huh...that worked. I'm going to have to figure out what pagewash does, then work backwards to figure out why I can't get there normally. Thank you! This will get me closer to figuring it out!

good! It basically gets rid of all the crap in your browser...cookies, extensions, other add ons, etc. It strips them off while you are on their site, not for real.

that is so weird - that it worked, because I did try to get to sbl with a stripped down version of my browser, with no cookies, add ons or extensions and that didn't work. I was starting to think it was system related - my firewall or other security stuff might have accidentally blacklisted sbl somehow. Anyhow, I'm still trying to figure it out, but at least now I have a workaround. My boyfriend's better at this type of thing than I am, so he's working on it too, LOL but since I'm on here so much, he only has limited opportunity to look at the problem.

I didn't even think about your security things but I imagine those are removed when you are on pagewash too. The best way to diagnosis issues really is to remove everything and then add them back one at a time till you come to the one that causes the problem. At least, that is how we always did it at Dell.

Yeah, that makes sense. I'll get my boyfriend to try that next. I was very familiar with our old security system, but not so much with this one. But if that is the case, why didn't the system restore fix it???? LOL before this is all over, I may end up having to contact my ISP. But, talking to other people is always a last resort for me, I try everything I can think of first, then call for help!

I am the same way about calling for help! I would almost rather go without than hae to call someone! Not sure about the system restore. I know it doesn't always revert everything though. That stupid printer I was fighting to install the other week? I tried to use it last week and it would not print. I un/reinstalled. system restore. blah blah blah. Finally downloaded HPs diagnostic tools and ran them. IDK what it was but that fixed it. And so why did the system restore to when it was working not work> I WISh I KNEW

Its so frustrating sometimes. I've used system restore several times successfully, but other times, like this one, it seems to have no effect at all. Oh well, I'll eventually get it working again. Just don't know how long it will take.

Not having access to sbl shows me just how much I rely on the site on a day to day basis. Of course pagewash helps, at least I have it as a resource for looking up stuff, but its frustrating not to be able to do anything in it. And of course not being able to do my job.

Congrats on getting your printer working!

Don't worry about getting stuff done on sbl. We are good for now and even if you aren't fixed by the time fireside starts we will survive and you will get a bit of vaca. (:

I know it can be frustrating to have to update big checklists when you don't have access for a while. I always try to keep a notepad with things I have added, etc. to help ease the pain, haha.

Thanks, hope it works next time I go to use it, without any issues!

Yeah, I'm doing the notepad thing with foods eaten. Not too worried about wardrobe since I can update that based on most recent. And I'm not at a point with the petdolls that I really need the list yet to track down the few remaining.

I'll probably take the opportunity to work on scrolls and pet species since neither of those requires tracking in sbl.
