Today's gonna be a scramble, y'all so hopefully I can quest this afternoon/evening - but I had to say I adore y'all to bits, I've felt so guilty about not helping the team and site I've been part of from almost day one, but all I had time to do was compose the WS posts for Lisa (atrueheart) if that.

And now Seg just came home sick again, migraine that made his vision blur, and in the lunch room it's excruciating for a kid like him. He's so thin, and under so much pressure to catch up at school.. I am beginning to hate that entire building. They need to leave these kids alone.

Anyway, Seg is the bone cancer survivor but it's almost time the yearly exam that is painful, invasive and terrifying. So I'm not sure if its from stress about having to go back to the cancer treatment center in a few weeks or if he's getting sick again since I wasn't around the first time, or if it's the way he's treated at school because one leg's shorter that the other, or all the walking he has to do or what.

I do know I am beginning to seriously dislike like the school district they attend. School just started and he's come home 3x already so whatever the reason I talked Sicca about other options and now she's talking with his dad about homeschooling.

Good(ish) news -- they seem to think that the problem they found yesterday is related to a drug interaction. They've taken mom off of one of her regular medications and want to keep her a second night to see if things improve. Mom's awake and alert, but antsy to get out and go home.

ugh drug interactions...well that's better news than the alternatives.

I went to a pretty good grade school, but even so there were problems because I was never a typical student. I can't image the trouble I'd have gotten into if I'd ended up at a less than stellar school. Home schooling isn't easy or simple, I hope you can work something out that benefits the kids and doesn't stress the adults too much.

Great to hear your mom is home! Does that mean that it was the meds, and things are now solved? Or does she have to start a round of testing various meds to see what works?

: They've got her on a new drug regimen. They sent her home with a list of call-911-if-this-happens symptoms to watch for, and have her coming back in two weeks otherwise to reassess. I'm optimistic, though -- she is definitely more alert than she was before (or, more precisely -- she stays alert and focused for longer periods before her mind wanders and she loses her train of thought), so that's already an improvement.

sounds good! Changing meds can be a challenge.
