I would stress it too but I've got pretty strong shoulders hon. You've suffered far too long with wrist pain waiting for things to fall into place for this and now that it has, it has to be done.

You'd do the same for me and have when things came up in my world that kept me from here and SubetaLodge. Luckily we're not all scrambling with life at the same time xD

I just feel so bad about the timing, just as I'm nearly ready to get back to it from my eye surgery, this comes along. LOL would have been better if the wrist surgery could have happened right after my eye surgery and I could have recovered from both at the same time.

Hi there. How is everyone settling in? So many of us now and things are really quiet. Too quiet!

What is everyone doing with their summer? Any exciting vacations planned? Any boring vacations planned? Any plans at all?

: No vacation for me this year, but big plans in the work -- I'm under contract to buy a house (and to move out of the Jed Clampett "before" shack I'm currently in!)

Oh! That is very exciting! Congrats! Hope we get to see some pictures or both the shed and the Clampett Hollywood mansion. :p Are you going to have a cement pond at the new digs?

- We'll be going on vacation in upstate New York from July 12th through the 26th, I believe. I'll post again once we get closer as I don't know how reliable I'll be for those two weeks. I'll have internet access, but we'll be visiting family and generally out doing stuff every day, like taking my little one to the zoo and children's museum. My husband and I may leave her with the grandparents for a day or two and go travel to Boston or New York City. Other than that, my plans for the summer are absolutely nothing, except relaxing and mentally preparing myself for the new school year in August. Oh, and doing my horrible professional development reading... Those books are always awful.

- Good luck with the closing and moving! That's always stressful, but very enjoyable having a new place to live and setting everything up the way you want! Use it as a time to purge your life of things you don't need!

LOL no plans...same old, same old. When you have time to do stuff, you don't have the money. When you have the money, you don't have the time. Life sucks!

The new house looks pretty! I haven't moved in 15 years - which means, as Kathy said, I haven't purged in eons, and it shows!

That sounds fun. It would be nice for you and your husband to have a mini-vacation from the kid.

I love reading - but there's nothing quite so dry as when you have to read something not of your choice.

Very nice! I actually like the looks of the shack too but admittedly that is a small photo and may be hiding many drawbacks! When are you closing and ,moving? And have you started packing yet?

relaxing sounds pretty perfect and I am sure the grands will love some extra time while you tand your hubs are off galavanting alone! Can't say as I envy the professionally required readings though. :p

I am glad you are around! You remind me of how nice life can be, lol. My problem is I have neither time nor money...boohoo!! Still better than my old life though...

glad you are back, or sort of back anyway. If you need more time or sporadic time don't worry about it. Just give me a yell if it will be more than 48 hours or so, please.

LOL well that's true I was only talking about time & money when there's lots of more important things, like being happy.

Pretty HA by the way.

Well, being happy? I have hopes that is still to come! For now I am content with being far less miserable!

ENough crap about my crap (but thanks for the compliment!) YOU are looking all ready for summer. How long does it last up there; something like 2.5 weeks? :P

2.5 DAYS :P

Already almost over, on May 5, it hit 35 - that would be day one. Tomorrow its suppose to hit 29 (that would account for the .5). Not sure when the last day of summer will happen, could be later this month, or may not happen until July.

The shack: Not so bad from the outside -- but it's very old (pre indoor plumbing), and the wiring and insulation is a mess. Costs a fortune to heat in the winter.

Closing was scheduled for the 23rd, but we may have to put it off to fix a couple of things that the home inspection revealed. Some packing done, but there's a LOT more to do.

When we bought our house the electrical panel was a scary mess. The inspector said it was a fire waiting to happen. The very first day we took possession of the house, before moving anything in, we fixed that mess. There were a few other problems, but that was the worst and I wasn't willing to spend even one night in the house until it was fixed.

LOL that's okay, you can keep your summer days. I hate the heat.

Thank you!

Earlier in the week I thought I was going to have to skip my birthday and celebrate on a different day. My fav restaurant has no A/C and the long range forecast was saying it was supposed to be very hot and humid, no way to enjoy a hot meal under those conditions. Happily they were wrong! Its a lovely 20 degrees and moderate humidity, so I get to celebrate on the actual day :).

Glad you get o celebrate at your favorite place on your day but I AM CONFUSED. Are you saying this is an actual summer day? Or...not? If it is summer then I think you must be done for the year. :x

LOL nope, not a summer day. It was looking like it might be a summer day, but the forecasters were wrong and its a lovely spring day instead!
