You can set items to 0 in price (or 0 in stock) and they won't show up to people viewing the shop, just the owner.

And yeah, I'm trying to work out a way for the slots :)

Ah ok yay, this makes me happy 😊

and erm, but wouldn't the item still be there, and cause lag, even if it's just to the owner of the shop?

also, I just thought of something, will we be able to have shared shops? I know a lot of people like having a collab shop with a friend, such as

Not any more than it's already in the system :) This just sets a "is this in the shop or not" toggle.

Yeah, I'm still trying to work that one out. The CW itself is still "on" an account. I'm thinking because I've given a lot of freedom on the message, you can just link to a specific category in a friends shop. Not an ideal solution, but it's much easier than changing the entire system to have "shared" CWs, those thats a possibility in the future!

Oooh ok, that sounds cool! And I like the idea of linking friend shops/advertising a friend's shops 😊

Hmm what you could do for the shared shop, is instead of giving both users the ability to control the item, that one of them submitted which they don't have now anyway, is to just give them the ability to each add something they've drawn or commissioned in the same shop? Might work out nicely, Idk

Just to clarify, when I mentioned shared CW shops I didn't think of shared CWs xD They could be a neat idea, but most of the current existing shared CW shops are places where two or three different people pool their personal CWs and help each other with general shop management ^-^ Even if they can't submit batches, it helps if one of them is on vacation, etc. so the other can still send notices to the customers. In a shared shop on the new model, I imagine each user would have the responsabilities regarding their own items, they'll just take advantage of a single interface and a single group of followers.

So basically, in my mind, I would either have the option to run my own shop or to "join" a friend's shop; if I pick the second option, then I can't have a shop of my own unless I "unjoin" my friend's c: (Pretty much how it is now, I can't sell my items in a thread of my own because I've chosen to sell them in a friend-shared thread! We'd have to close and restart if we were to split.)

This supposes it would have to be a reversible option, so I would always have the opportunity to change my mind. So... yeah there would have to be a way to "delete" CW shops like we can delete regular shops we own, and then have our items be automatically transferred somewhere else.

[edit] I'm hoping the lack of need for CW groups (which hopefully will arise from the new changes) will make it so the "pressure" on the coding lowers enough that the other groups could be left alone :/ But I have no idea.

I'm still concerned about ping groups not related to CW shops. I feel like there's a need for almost two separate threads/discussions

Right - so groups like newcustomwears or w/e are all totally fine - they can stick around. I think that they'll be a little bit redundant when you can go into the new wardrobe, choose custom wearables for sale and sort by newest, and buy directly from there, but we'll see.

i think the redundancy/even the need for those groups will be eliminated if we can figure out a way to slot the first batch directly from the shop! as said above, right now this seems like more of a cash shop "solution" than a ping group solution. i just hope that this large issue is hashed out before all of the specifics get thought about ^_^ it could be as simple as having a separate page in the shop where a user can show previews/jpegs for upcoming items, "ping" (aka notify) their followers, and have people comment on the news post (or whatever it ends up being) to slot for batch 1.

so, for example, i draw a pair of shoes - i post a "news post" on my shop with jpegs and previews of the shoes, their future price, etc. i press whatever button to notify all my followers, and they see my "post" with the shoe previews in it. a few people comment on the "post" claiming a slot, and voila! first batch is tentatively filled. then i can submit it the traditional way, get it approved, and move it permanently into my shop!

edit: also i might be kind of uncomfortable with people being able to buy my CWs straight from the wardrobe - i like having control over who gets my CWs and in what order, will that be mandatory or..?

I would also be uncomfortable not having control over who gets my CW....I remember a while ago someone made the suggestion saying that users could request a slot at our shop (via a button, or something like that, or "express interest" in items temporarily retired) I would much prefer that.

Yup, and thats why I said I'm working on a solution for the first slot :)

And and If you have your item set to be purchased, without a password, then anyone can buy it. It'll show up in the shop search. If that makes you uncomfortable, then you should probably stick to just taking slots for it.

Do you expect that people not using the new shops will put users selling cw at a disadvantage or do you think it won't matter to buyers?

I think that people will really appreciate the ease to buy stuff - so if you're making things that are similar to other wigs/accessories/etc, people will probably always go for the ones sold easily. That means being able to buy them directly from the wardrobe, shop search, etc.

So then maybe I'm confused but this doesn't sound very different from the cash shop's cw shop. Idk maybe I was just really liked , and 's ideas. Especially what Blanche said on the first page

"Instead of having people automatically sign themselves up for slots, they could maybe apply for slots? Then whenever a mod logs on, they can "approve" people in order of slot "application" (there absolutely must be a timestamp on claims!). Like how now we can "reject" a slot payment assigned to us, a shop owner can "reject" a customer that has proved to never pay on time, etc."

Is that really a concrete no-go? Maybe I've just got my heart set on it and need to be solidly shot down haha.

Um, my idea was to have people sign themselves up and I personally don't like the idea of picking and choosing who gets what on public items...seems elitist to me. Especially since the cws are sold not by batch, but by copy in this shop idea, and payment is made immediately upon purchase.

Blanche's idea was if every cw had to be sold by batch.

What I've been describing in these posts is the system as it stands right now, completely coded :). As I've said in the past few posts, I'm working on a method to get around exactly what you're talking about which is getting people signed up for those slots outside of the forums.

I meant looking at your mock-ups and then following up with Blanche's and Reaper's comments/ideas

But then maybe I misunderstood Blanche. As I understood it, someone would click a button like, idk "I Want That" or something, I'm sleepy and have been doing homework for 4 hours excuse me XD And then when the seller comes online, you'd see who wants to buy and you just click "yes" and the exchange is done, or "no" and they're declined

Sort of like the ping you get for trades when someone offers, now that I think about it.

Ugg tell me about it...I'm in midterms, chaucer midterm next is officially dead but I took Blanche's posts as an if we have to fill a batch type of thing. We have no say over who buys what in the CS now, and this shop seems to be an almost carbon copy...granted with the ability to set our own prices xD

I personally would find a trade like event annoying because I personally have never denied anyone a slot so long as they pay...plus events sometimes never come through...so people could sit there 5ever and not know DX

Ugh god I know. I'm not at midterms yet but my classes all decided to have synchronized tests apparently anyway, so I sympathize haha.

Yeah right now it does seem like a carbon copy. Though I'm SO glad we can set our own prices...

Honestly I know there are one or two people I just really wouldn't want to sell to, because they were really rude to me and honestly like, no ew leave me alone you're an ass so you don't get nice stuff if I can help it? XD But you've got a point about it being annoying. Maybe having an option (i think youtube has something like this?) where you can set it to either slots needing approval or just anyone who wants it can have it. I suppose a middle ground from privates.

Yeah I'm super sleepy too so I have no idea what's going to come out of this post. xD I originally thought of the CW shops with a batch system, mostly because I wasn't sure Subeta would allow sales of items in amounts smaller than 10 :x

When it comes to public items, my biggest concern is paying on time, so if the person was clicking a button and buying the item / paying at that same time... I guess that works for this specific issue. I'm fine with that when it comes to unlimited / mostly permanently available items, but I'm not sure how I feel about the concept of not knowing who buys your very-limited-but-still-public things. Technically someone could buy your single batch public thing anonymously and insta-resell for 10 times more, then if the artist confronted them (people often get shop banned for that) they could say they bought it for that price and skirt around someone's shop rules... idk.

I think the issue gets solved if we have a way to either do that OR take batches of 10 using the "apply for a slot" method OR doing a personal-code (better than password!) release. Maybe we could even have another option, opening an item to shop followers only...

I'm hardly making any sense, but basically give people a couple/a few more options so they aren't forced to do that. People who absolutely want to retain control/ban users can still do it and those who don't care as long as they pay can also have their option. ^^ Most of us are likely to do both things depending on the item sold.
