I adopted Polka because I'm a sucker for pound lurking. I remember looking up the name a long time ago and being sad it was taken. I have no idea what I'm going to do with her TC. I think lots of dark pink/purple/blue moody things, like this sticker:

Also, after all of our overlay discussion, it got me thinking about the Neela. I really love the Neela, but I just wasn't feeling them 100%. I love the Glade pose, but I like the Common coloring. So I figured why not branch into the overlay world? As everyone said, it would be a way to get the best of both worlds. But before I take the plunge and buy a Neela elixir, I want to make sure that I can get the type of overlay that I want. Does anyone know of any good artists that would be able to redraw/recolor the Common Neela in the pose of the Glade Neela? And how much do you think something like this should cost?

ugh, the thing i hate most about experiment zapping is i always seem to get every experiment EXCEPT the one i want

@ Hopesoap is great with recolors! She has an album of examples on her profile (I'ma link you anyway tho cause they're great) and it looks like she's taking commissions :) She did Alibi's recolor for me and I can't remember exactly what it cost but it was very affordable.

@ satyr that's usually the way it goes when you know exactly what you want 😔 do a little chant before you zap next time: I really want a swampie, I really want a swampie!" the zapper is so stubborn sometimes that I swear it has its own kind of sentience, so reverse psychology might just work. :P

Hi friends! I'm super excited today because the uh-mazing made a custom overlay for me (I haven't actually uploaded it to the system yet because monies) but guys, guys look. I am so happy cries of joy. I've been playing around with coding some more, as you can all clearly see. Not there yet, but I'm learning slowly. I'm also really close to being done with Alex. I need to go over his story again (especially since I know there are spelling errors in there) and I still want some art of him (right now it's all art of his dogs) but I'm super happy C:

Wow, all this creativity. I was just excited that I managed to beef up my pirate pet's treasure chests a bit this Keelhauliday. It's sad when you're proud to have bought half a dozen Magical Keepsake Boxs..., especially when most of your pets still have generic SubetaLodge layouts. Sigh, wish I knew how to code.

That's not sad. Working on the treasures is an important part. ^^ A good treasure can really help showcase what the pet is all about.

Personally I think it's sad that even though I do a ton of pet profiles, most of my own pets have absolutely nothing or just something temporary.

Me too dear. There's lots of help on the forums if you're interested in getting started. I have a feeling I'll end up buying profiles for all my pets eventually, but it's fun to learn. And congrats on the TC boost! I really need to do that, I have so much stuff just sitting in my gallery waiting for me to get MKBs. :P

Thanks! I get so lost as to what goes where, and when to put curvy brackets versus straight brackets, let alone spaces, dashes underscores and quotation marks. I bought HTML for dummies..., but I must be dumber than a dummy when it comes to code, 'cause I was lost before the end of the first chapter.
Oh well at least I can draw my babies.

Absolutely! I wish I had the artistic talent or coding abilities that I see so many people here use! It would make my life monumentally easier (and cheaper) if I could make custom art/overlays and profiles for my own pets. It's really cool that you can do that! :)

HTML is a good place to start though. Since it's the basics of how a website works. For styling pet profiles though you need css. Which is a lot easier to learn (at least I think so) if you have basic knowledge of html first.

But really, most people seem to be worried about the coding part. If you can make the profile graphics yourself there is the option of having someone else code it for you. (Gosh, this seems like horrible self-advertisement)

For making your own graphics do you mean making the boxes and background and then just having someone place it all for you? I'm not sure what constitutes graphics versus the coding itself.

Yeah, what said... :D I have pages and pages of art. I have one profile that I paid another user to put my art together on. Jolette isn't the greatest, but she's the best I've managed so far even with help.

Okay, I'm just going to use one of my recent-ish profile commissions as an example for this.

This would be the graphic and this would be the finished profile, coding included.

So the graphics are really just the background images. And the coding is placing the content and styling text and hover/clicky sections.

(note that you could also do a profile with just the pet image and then do the rest with coding, like this)

That overlay is adorable. And I love Alex too. And oh my goooddd. That is me right now. Now slots, but I love looking. And then I do quick judgment calls of do I like this pet more than my pet? Loyalty boxes need to come around, like, quarterly. :P

Right? I have a few pets I'm still working on concepts with and I'll think of a name or see one and be like - does that work better, am I willing to part with my pet for it, ah! And thank you! Disney is my happy place, and Alex is inspired by the novel "Into the Wild" and my recent trip to Alaska, so it makes me very happy that they're coming together and that people like them. :3

Well, I've finally gotten to work on Anastasia! I've had a few different ideas for her since I've had her, though none of them have exactly taken root yet. I might work a bit more on her story before I put what I have so far up, though.
