i officially graduated from lazy pet person to stupid pet person today. i'd completely forgotten that the zapper has a knack for destroying minions, and i'd given my zapper pet an old token shop minion because you know, why not. surely you can guess what happened.

thankfully i had a second one kicking around in my shop so there wasn't any major loss there, and i'm keeping the second copy locked in my inventory until the zappage is done. but good lord do i ever feel stupid

I did the same thing. Completely forgot about that nasty trick. Except the minion that got zapped was just a cheap something.

At least you had an extra laying around. ^^;

i'm actually toying with giving my pet a cheapo minion in the hopes of zapping it into more slimes (which is what happened this time) and selling those off, since they're not the best boosters you can find.

i actually had no idea i had the second one, because there's so much stuff in that shop that i must've overlooked it. i'd gone to go buy a second one and i saw my shop name in there, and only then did i get the idea to go and check.

That sounds like a good idea. And since slimes aren't the most reliable boosters selling them is probably better than using them. I didn't even get one of those. I got Evil Goop. x) Completely useless. But it'll serve it's purpose for coding pet profiles.

At least you noticed your shop name before buying, rather than seeing it out of the corner of your eye just as you clicked to buy another. (What I probably would have done)

That's some good advice o: I'm just worried since most of my future pets I want are kinda iffy, as far as ideas go, compared to the ones I already have I also want to finish more on my current pets before I get more too and overload myself ;-;

On one side it's probably easier to substantiate the iffy ideas if you have the pet, but on the other side that pet might take up the place from a great idea later on.

I know if I didn't have extra slots empty and suddenly got a really solid idea I would probably have a hard time getting rid of my two character-less pets. Just because I've had them for some time, I've trained them and I really like their names. x)

I'm worried I'd be in the same position if I adopt both of them, but then find a pet that I really want x-x I also just need some motivation to kick me in the pants and get me working on the pets I already have, lol

Well there's always the option of having someone hold a pet for you, if you really want them, I suppose. ^^;

Thanks! :) I think what I most need to do now is to sit down and focus on on story at a time. I have all these ideas I love, but I need to write them out and then get art based on the completed ideas. C: Then probably buy profiles, haha. I'm figuring out some of the coding based on premades and looking at the codes others have used, but I don't know if I'll ever be able to make them as nice as I'd like.

I've been in that boat too. :) I've had a couple instances where I saw pets in the AC or on the forums that I instantly had an idea for, but after trying to flush it out realized I wasn't that in love with it after all. On the flip, I've adopted out pets that I thought I was over only to realize later I loved the name and should have just changed the concept. Good luck!

Then again I've done the same as Faune. Getting a pet from the AC because I had an idea, but not have the idea pan out. I still have the pet, but have been through a couple of different ideas already. I did write out a quick story draft for the latest idea, but never got further than that.

It's definitely easier to just focus on one at a time. Pick one and then forget about the others. At least while writing.

The premade profile are a really good place to start when figuring out how to code pet profiles. Just so you don't have to start from scratch.

I think that if I could find a good pet profile maker that didn't charge an arm and a leg, I might get my ass in gear and start working on stuff. Until then, I'll just slowly work my way there.
