Woo!! The limit was finally lifted like he said it was days ago :P I'm finally here :D And to rejoice, I'll start by saying I've done nothing for my pets in days weeks, even 😅

it's actually one of my goals to get custom overlays for all of my pets!! i don't have any of the new ""official"" type overlays yet but my pet unicorns has an overlay and so does wessley. ((excuse their pages, i'm in this group for a reason))

I love custom overlays :D I have four at the moment, with more to come once I can wrangle some. For me, most of my pets are characters that I've used off-site, and when I brought them over to subeta I had a bit of a sad that I couldn't get them looking exactly like I wanted to, but I got some regular overlays and shrugged it off. then they released custom overlays and I found an amazing artist to do some for me, and it was love at first use. ❤️ I really enjoy seeing my bbs everywhere around site - battle, the healer, job agency etc etc. Of all the things I've spent csc on, I enjoy my overlays the most. :) I really like seeing other people's overlays too! There are some amazingly designed pets out there.

Right now, I have 12 pets, two of them are pretty much done, but for the rest of them I only have some faint ideas of what I want to do with them. Haha, one actually doesn't even have a name, oops.

As for the topic at hand, I can definitely see the appeal in custom overlays. For myself even, I would like to get one for my Sailor Moon fan pet. Then he'd be a "Sun Legeica" or "Golden Legeica", which suit him as a title, but the image would be of a winged pegacorn. And just like was saying, then I'd get to see that very specific and unique representation of my pet everywhere on site, which I guess is the premier reason for getting a custom overlay as opposed to one that only shows on your profile.

Gosh I don't think my dog would ever accept a pet sitter unless it was family LOL. I stayed at my brothers for a week to watch his dogs and I'd stop by my place off and on and she'd give me the cold shoulder because I wasn't with her as much ;; she's very spoiled.

Yeah for my human pets with no linked quad I do this. I jus am picky and like to get my own art of them to get profiles for them ;.; i actually managed to get a good one going for one of my bbs and I'm super excited to see the turn out. I just need so much art it's crazy. This is what I get for neglecting for so long whyyy LOL.

good topic! I think custom overlays are awesome and i would like at least a couple but... have none.

I get so stressed about the art aspect of the custom overlay thing. Like, that is how your pet will be forever and if you decide a week later that you don't like it.. I don't even know how that works honestly. Are you allowed to change it for free? So I get stressed and then just don't do the art for it lol! My Hydra is a 3 headed dragon and there are just no pets on site that are what I picture in my head. So for her I plan on it. :) one of these days.. lol

On the other hand I do have some Common color pets that I think are perfect for the character that they are. They aren't even special colors or anything but I just love them because they fit so well. The artists on site really do an amazing job.

I love overlays, both edited and redrawn! Most of my pets I'm definitely happy with just having edit overlays, as I like seeing the Subeta art around the site way too much to want to cover it up!

There are a few pets I'm considering getting custom overlays for though... my arid ontra, mainly, as he's so... plain, but nothing really suits him and I want him to be an ontra. xD But I have the same issue as hahaha. What if I spend that CSC but then want to change the overlay...? I do my own art and can't really imagine commissioning someone, but I also can't imagine ever being satisfied enough with something I drew to make it a real custom overlay!

For a few of my pets I'm considering giving them redrawn overlays but not doing the custom overlay thing, as I still want to see the official Subeta art around the site. It'll just be their profiles where they look different!

Finally finished a full body shot for a pet profile that is yet to come, but at least it's a start.

On the topic of overlays, when it comes to other people's pets, I admire looking at all the creative art but don't mind vanilla pets either, the site art is most of the time really enjoyable to look at. With my own pets though, I'd always love to keep the site art while at the same time having my own overlay... Which is probably one of the reasons why I haven't managed to do either since I can't decide.

& Thanks! Scribble experiments are indeed the best. I've always loved the Scribble Exp 911, but I could never think of a name. I'm reading the first book in the Game of Thrones saga right now, and Grumkin (and Snark!) just fit perfectly. :D So happy!

I've been super pet-productive today. Finally being able to tick this pet off the list, I got motivated to do some nailing down of colors for my other pets -- I turned Harlotry into a Bloodred Montre and Tyrant into a Nuclear Warador, which is what they were always meant to be but I just never got around to it!

I also plan on turning Histoire into a Chibi Noktoa (or maybe Scribble with the book and all? Chibi is just so stinking cute though...), but elixirs are so expensive right now! I also have a name in mind for a glow-sticking Blacklight pet, but I'm torn between a Blacklight Chai and a Blacklight Torrey... Once that's all said and done, the last pet on my wishlist is a Neela, but I may have to break down and buy one. :P

I was working pretty hard on one of my pets, someone nominated her and she got booted, then a bunch of the artists changed their names and/or were frozen, so her page just looked ... gross. Then omgimages went down and took all of her artwork with it. I haven't had the motivation to do anything with my pets since.

I love the idea of custom overlays, just can't afford them. Don't get me wrong, I love the official art, but sometimes it isn't exactly right for my vision of the pet. Take Lorenna, my sweetheart archan, the color is perfect but her overlay (If I ever manage to finish her page), will be anthro rather than quad.
