Just wondering, are you using a layer system to shade your hairs, or you're using a dodge/burn tool?

Layer system, One shade per layer. But apparently the way I shade makes it look like it's dodged/burned, it's not the first time it's been pointed out D|

[edit] I do add some filters and adjust everything with levels slightly in the end, but they dont really change the overall appearance of the wig.

@ Cathii I use layer blending as well, but I usually use one color and Linear burn for dark shading and overlay for lighting :)

Anyways, I don't know how are you working for the updo, but I'd say submit one first and then the recolor. If you're using layers, than you should keep the same shadow/highlight levels for both, only changing the base color. I don't know why they denied the blond updo (I see so many just like around õ_o) but you could try to increase the shade on the ponytail and right half of the hair, instead of the current shade you've done already. I think you covered the hair lineart, but it looks kinda pixelated on my screen, so I don't know if they'll complain about that. I'd enhance the 'outer' li8neart, and not mess with the rest because it makes the hair 'heavy'. But that's just me. The lineart for the item though is too thin, so you better change that out, it will come back. One thing I'm feeling over your work is that the shade/light seems to fade, which is not the point of cell shading. You want to see the 'border' of the colors, that's why another name for the technique is 'hard edge cell'. I hate my approved haur, but you can see where one color starts and other ends: . I had a problem on this color specific because even tough is the same outline than all the other colors, the staff rejected at first because the lighter color made the outline look 'colored' in their opinion (I'm against it still). So by starting with the light hair you probably won't have problems with the darker ones.

For the red hair icon, you don't need to put black line into the comb, but you could use a nearly black line and add shadow on the right parts, as the light would still hit the comb in whole. Also, the hair strands of the item look fake! It doesn't resemble the wig, looks more like plastic hair due lack shading. Always shade from left to right, that's usually how things work here. The lineart is thins also, so enhance the outline and you shall have no problems and the item won't be cluttered with black lineart! :) What they mean about the shoulder I think you got right, and it also looks better on the newest version! The lineart as well. As I said, your shading is blending too much, so it doesn't get to the 'standard' of the official art (assuming there was one -.-). You could use what we call 'shampoo glow', which is that strong bright light on the lighter places, it adds more 'reality', specially for dark hair! Just looks at hair adds, it's common to see that bright line following a path. You need shade on the right part of the ponytail, as some parts would overlap and project shade, also, to give 3-D perspective, you need at least a shade around the edges opposite to the line source.

I think the blond ponytail hair wouldn't have a problem with lineart, even tough I think the line between forehead and hair should be there xD There should be shadow on both right part of head (next to the ear until top of ponytail) and right part of ponytail, even tough the 'inside' of the hair should be shaded as well. There shouldn't be much lighting on the ponytails because of its position, but you don't need to make it all shaded.

Sorry for the wall text, I don't mean to offend you, this is just my personal opinion due to my experience, and even if you follow all my instruction it won't mean Subeta will approve your item, I don't get how they work so it's more like a lottery with minimum standards :)

And don't think of it as mistakes, think of 'out of standard'. It's understandable that the site maintains one, but sometimes is hard to keep on to it, specially if someone says 'YOU DID WRONG'. I'd be happier if the system was just like the ticket center, so the artists would give us specific directions instead of copying a bunch of premade sentences and try to explain it. It would feel better for us, and a much positive experience, but oh well, let hope they find a way to work things better. ^_^

I understand you, I did this once, but I was lucky as the item was approved <.< So, about the icon, make the inner lights light or more transparent (transparent work better). There is one strand on the right part that could be shaded instead of keeping the base color, it would complete the item as a whole. About the overlay: Shade the tips of the strands, more towards the right part on the ponytail. The shade still looks soft on the part between the ponytail and the strand above the ear, you might wanna define that more, so they won't bother you. You can increase the shaded area (not the strength!) on this part a bit more, just to give a rounded shape to the read, but the sharpen shades would probably make the job, in thesis. Try to thicken up the lineart on the top loop of the ponytail, you might be able to do that using a brush with half opacity as you lost the original working size. :) Just to be sure tough xD

Working hard on making them subeta standard, sowwy it's taking so long .________________. It would be drastically quicker, but I found a full time job that started monday, and it's eating nearly all of my time of course lol OTL (Not that im complaining, love the job and the loooove the money that goes with it, but I feel bad for everyone waiting after me :()

How's this maybe? I'm having so much trouble with the shading when it's that tiny, argg. If nothing's working, i'll redo it completely, just all completely :K

One important thing, I think the lineart is looking too sharp :/ I don't know if they'll bother about that, but I don't really like it. It's acceptable, but sharp line usually makes the hair looks heavy, specially light colors! The darker ones can pass, but for the lights is a little trick. What if you redraw the lineart on the original size and pasted into the other file with the shadow? So the lineart would be smoothed out and you wouldn't have to fix everything! <_<

the angelic iPod looks loads better already! I would love a slot for the new blonde ponytail :)

Oh dear Dx Well, I think the lineart looks smother now, and the shade works as well, I'm just concerned whether you liked it xD Because it's way darker than your previous submission, so if you'd like it light, try using a lighter or saturated base (the highlights will probably disappear), the rainyday light wig probably has something you were looking for. If you're pleased with this color, than I say go for it :) They might implicate because, as I told you, your cell shade 'blends' more than the 'standard' shades, but it's not like there aren't wigs using a similar technique already approved. My best advice: submit and pray! XDDDD

Hmm, well I like it still, but I don't love it xD Actually, I,ve started shading differently (more subeta style I hope), but since those wigs had batches filled already, it's pretty dumb to change the whole style, so im hoping I made a good enough compromise to have them accept the wig D|

Hahaha, well, both comb and strands look that are made from the same material :P Just add a bright light (with if you think so) over the comb, like it was a plastic comb. Plastic reflects light really nice (well, most of them xD) so I guess putting a bright line-shaped glow somewhere there will make things appear different textures (appear because we can't feel the actual texture, as they're pixels, not real things :P) Nah, my pleasure! I like to help whenever I can, changing experience is good :}

I saturated the colour a bit so that it would be brighter, like you suggested x3 It does look a bit more like the original version colour/brightness wise I think B)
