Hey hey! I had another look/go today and figured some things out. All the urls with image links that weren't https were just removed. Woohoo. Searching for 'background-image' manually found me all the removed image link areas in the code, and luckily I had a backup of the code so I knew what went where. imgur doesn't seem to do https (and is blocked in some areas now anyway) so I made an account in postimages, uploaded all the same images via 'upload via url' directly from the imgur links, plugged the new urls into the code and it is now fixed for me. Phew. Hope this works for you too! :)
