I would probably buy these if we could get them in Canadian stores. I don't buy stuff online at all, so this would be a way for me to support the site and get the awesome items from MCTs a lot more often.

Good idea, but I feel as though subeta is not big enough to do this

I would love to have cards in stores, mainly Target , since I don't have a credit card or paypal.

Loving the "don't let this be neopets 3.0" arguments.

Hah! Are you joking?

CSC already gives users a HUGE advantage on the site vs Neopets. At least they don't allow anyone to profit and just buy their way into stardom.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely approve of subeta's method! It's great, and it's working. But honestly? Are you kidding me? Subeta ALREADY IS turning out to give paying users huge advantages. The most prized items are always CSC (among the most popular, MCT and wigs...) and they are worth millions.

It just seems like it's the new edgy thing to be bashing the site you were all referred here from. gtfo.

Pudding Cup, i not getting into a big debate over Walmart on here since thats not what this news area is for...i was just saying we shouldn't put it down...but let me just end with this note is that when people work for retail is that wages and work hours you always getting the raw end of the stick...if people want fairer jobs then they can get a college degree and a career outside of retail...i have family in retail work and i know how it is like to work there...it not just walmart either...and i sorry bout your family's store being hurt by walmart or any store like that being in town...they just have to fight back...its how businesses survive...blessed be

My PayPal account never seems to act right, so having Subeta gift cards in WalMart / Target otr, better yet, GameStop would be a Godsend. I'd buy a lot more CSC if this came into play.

I love this idea but I hope that they will get sold in australia. A good australian shop would be either Big W, Kmart ot Target. I like Big W most

Yes, please. I vote Target too though. Gamestop would be even better.

You know I had an interesting thought. If cards were sold out in very public popular stores, people might start learning about Subeta. I mean, most people learn of it through word of mouth I think. This way it'll get peoples attention

Whether we want that or not is really debatable. I think that's what happened to a certain other website. :/

Your entitled to your opinion just dont assume every cares that you think walmart is a bad place. They are not the only store like that, its a big cooperation they get a lot of buzz cause of that than smaller places. I know you werent talking to me but wanted to state what I thought too. Walmart is an excellent place to shop and if someone doesnt like to work there then dont work there. One of these days someone will get walmart to step up to the plate and pay their employees more but until someone does I will still shop there. I have a walmart right next to me a target down the road and if I want a subeta card that bad I will take a trip where ever else to get one. So I don't really care where the cards go in whatever store I will still go get it if its here in the USA up north. I think the poll really says it all though I didnt that many people did the poll the numbers are wow! haha

I wasn't assuming everyone cares, but i know people do - especially my parents. Just because mine is the minority thought does not make it unimportant. Most stores do not have the power that Walmart has, so i doubt many smaller places are like that. And it's not just the employees that are getting jipped. Here. Read the facts.

btw corportation*.

Jennie: I'm not saying I think it's a terrible idea to have the cards. I'd like that idea...but in other stores. I just hate Walmart. Do you KNOW what they do? They may bring jobs and lower prices, but they destroy mom and pop stores (like what my parents have), are incredibly greedy, and the employees are very poorly paid. It's not the same as Target and other discount stores. It's not like I'm bashing EVERY store who has low prices. Like someone said before, google "Wake up, Walmart".

Since when have i not been able to have an opinion? :/

Just today, I saw cards for Gaia and other sites which I used to be active in, and I was wishing they had had them back when I was active, because it would've opened more options to me. So I would definitely support Subeta cash cards. (:

I'm sure its a great idea for those with access to the stores. But where I am we don't even have foreign subsidiaries of American chains. And even if we did they wouldn't want to sell something in american dollars.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by BlocksBlocksBlocks
User Avatar

I voted no because I wouldn't buy them in stores, though I do think they're a great idea -- particularly for users without their own credit cards. But my concern is the exchange rate for non-US users like myself.

With PayPal, the rate is current and exact. How could the physical cards be that precise? Would they just be for sale in US dollars? That doesn't seem likely.

Usually with things I buy from US suppliers, if the exchange rate isn't determined the PayPal way, I get a little bit screwed because they set the Canadian price according to each item.

Like on Sephora.com, for example, if I have a $15 lip gloss and a $30 mascara in my cart, when I check out and see the Canadian prices, the gloss might be $17 and the mascara, $38. There are discrepancies.

How would this issue be handled?

It's a good idea as long the paypal option remains for those who prefer it. Have 3 concerns though.

  1. Subeta users who do not have access to Walmart or whatever.
  2. Are there enough users on Subeta to make it viable.
  3. I would not like to see Subeta becoming too much like another pet site that has offers available only to people who redeem cards. This is my biggest concern.

I think it's a very good idea, even though I don't think I'd ever use it. Buying things in real life vs over the internet is always a good thing. ^^

I love this idea, but I'd rather see them in stores like CVS, Rite-Aid, Meijer, and K-mart.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

people stop putting down walmart...'cause if you put down walmart then you have to put down target and every other discount store...they are retail stores who come into towns and cities that lower prices which is good for customers and plus they bring jobs for people who need them...so remember that next time you put it down...it's just like a site needs money to keep it running...they do what they have to...sorry but had to be said...its simple business stuff...blessed be

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

bring them to walmart and CVS pharmacies please...and have them in increments of $10, $15, $20, and such...those who only want to spend like $5 for cash credits then can still use paypals...i just would feel safer buying a $10 Subeta cash credit card then redeem it on this site then keep going to paypal all the time...not everyone has an account on paypal nor do they want to have their financial information on there all the time...no offense of course to paypal since i think they are trusted site...it just buying cards at a store to redeem for cash credits on game sites are just easier way to donate...if you not have the $10 increment especially in Walmart stores then you will lose out on alot of customers (just a little business sense there)...other game sites start with increment of $25 on Walmart card shelf area and personally people get turned off by those increments...i mostly go to Walmart and CVS stores often so those would be the best places i want to see Subeta cash cards at...upstate NY please bats lashes and winks

I think this would be awesome! I know my kids and their friends buy them for a different site and give them as b-day gifts... Plus I could replace itunes cards for the kids with them! I know I would buy them at one or more of my 4-5 trips a week to walmart

It's a good idea, but I had to be honest. I'd prefer to buy directly from Subeta through Paypal (or other viable means). I also think it might be easier and more efficient not to do it through cards. The main benefit for buyers would be something physical to hold to show for it I guess. My "no" vote doesn't mean "no" to spending money for the site.

Cash cards are a fabulous idea, but I don't think Wal-Mart or Target would be the best place to sell them. Too few and far apart. Every neighbourhood has a pharmacy and that would be so much easier for the younger users to buy them. Another site sells their cards at Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada. With so many pharmacy chains I'm sure you could find one to carry your cards. Just a thought. V.
