Hi all! Sorry for that recent bout of weirdness. Allow me to explain!

Keith and I rolled out some very important updates tonight, updates that we hope will improve performance considerably.

Subeta has two database servers, db1 and db2. At any given time, one of them is the "master" server, and the other is a "slave". This just means that only one server actually processes updates from the site, and the other is read-only... you can only ask it questions, not make changes on it. The slave server listens to the master to stay up-to-date on changes.

Prior to our updates tonight, Subeta only used the master server. The slave was around as a backup in case something happened to the master server, so we have a second server ready-to-go.

We've now completed changes to our code that allows us to use both servers at once. This means that instead of reading from only one database server, Subeta now uses two whenever it can. This means, ideally, that the load on our master server can be cut in half.

We're hoping this will result in a faster and more stable Subeta experience. However, the database code is used by the entire site, and it's impossible to test everything out by ourselves. So there may be problems. If you find a problem (something not working that used to), please make a report about it in the bugs forum, and we'll fix it as soon as we can!

Well, glad the glitchy thing with the error pages is solved, but it's def NOT faster to me. In fact, it's slower to me than it's ever been

The site was faster this morning and early afternoon (Central), when traffic was light, but as soon it hit 1,000 users it slowed down. Now it seems slower to me than before the update.

it is really slow and i have to refresh EVERYTHING(just like ne0pets) and whenever I buy some thing (you know that code thingy?) the code stays the same! I click on it, nothing happens! DX

Site does NOT seem any faster for me. In fact, since this, there seems to be an uproar of problems. Item duplications, tokens multiplying, vending machines getting MORE confused than usual, site down issues every 2 minutes, quest time limits taking nearly 40 YEARS! I hope all the problems are why tickets are remaining unanswered.

Good luck getting things in working order again. I'd love to see some downtime to get things fixed, if that's what it takes!

Like plenty of people here, I, too, have been getting lots of 'Site Down' messges, but as soon as I refresh it's all back to normal. :I CONFUZZLED.

Adding to what's already been said, the site has been lagging enormously, goes down at least twice a minute, and when purchasing an item for a quest it times out more often than not.

When I get a random event to go help the wizard and click on the link it gives it takes me to a 404 not found page. The requested URL /explore/wizardquests.php was not found on this server. Don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet but it's been happening for a while now. And the site seems to run about the same for me. Noticed not getting as many sql errors though.

I'm sure they're working on it guys. They're trying to do you a favor. You can wait a little bit for them to fix it. If there's a problem go to the bug forum to fix it like Alex requested.

I am also having the same problem as Speiro below... pressing "back" buttons on the pages does not refresh the page as it used to, whether in shops or quests... it goes back faster, but perhaps BECAUSE it's not refreshing.

Something is definitely still very wrong. I think everyone keeps getting error pages now almost every other page.

I know I had to stop battling because it wouldn't load right for me and kept getting me stuck in battle because I couldn't proceed further for page errors, then I couldn't get "unstuck" for the same reason.

Hope you figure it out soon. I don't envy you trying to sort this out.

Almost every click is an automated "server offline" message for me... but I'm assuming it will settle in time. Most positive changes have a few setbacks in the beginning.

It's that one server isn't caught up with the other. That's why you sometimes get it in one page, and not the other. Where you're sent to all depends on server load. They gotta restart to fix this, just takes some time.

I really don't want to complain, but I get that 'Subeta is offline' page every 3 or 4 clicks... instead of being faster it's slow and bugged to me. can't even do any quests because I always get that annoying message.
