I found it rather interesting that the question has been deleted on yahoo answers. I have put in my guess, yesterday in fact, but I felt the need to see how many other people tried to just get the answer the lazy way.

If the staff here had anything to do with yahoo taking it down, kudos to you. It's not fair to see that other people get it without doing the work.

Depending on how you read the question, there is more then one answer. I can't really go into explaining it now since the trivia is still up, but there is. Once its over I'll explain my answer.

As I said before, if Debi had added more to the trivia to narrow it down a bit, I would not have an issue with it. As it is, its very vague and open to more then one interpretation and that leads to multiple answers.

Sawars, you are wrong. There is more then one legit answer. I'll post the answer I found after the trivia has ended.

If Debi had added more to the question to hint at which correct answer she wanted, then I wouldn't have a problem with it. As it is it is far far to vague and as such leads to more then one correct answer.

I just found two answers for this trivia, both of which fit /perfectly/ with the question asked. I know I picked the wrong one as it is more obscure. I don't even want the prize, but its the principle.
Make dead sure there aren't more then one possible answers for a trivia question before you put them up. Or find a way to allow multiple answers that count as correct.

lol I don't believe it I made a complete guess and it was right I only just read on here where the sequence was. That was a lucky guess and definatley will not work every time . I'm going to go and attempt the new one now.

You know what? I check in constantly off and on all day. 'Cept when I'm sleeping of course. And I STILL manage to miss a new trivia now and then. I have no idea how it happens but it does. If I miss it, I miss it. I check out what the prize was and if I really like it, I'll go check trades where it is usually waaaay more than I want to spend and then I add it to my WL so I will remember to get it when the price is reasonable. No. Big. Deal.

Eh, I don't even try for sequence Trivias, so losing the last one wasn't anything new.

This one, however, confuses me deeply. I don't get how it's a giveaway. :/ I guessed on it.... Once it's over I'm interested in finding out what it was referring to.

Actually, I generally don't bother responding with the people I disagree with in the comments, and I certainly don't always agree with the "be nice to staff plzkthx" clichÃ© if I feel people are making a good argument. But for some reason it just irked me more than other times, to use your word. As for the earrings, they're going for only 1 mill-ish in the trades (which seems low in comparison to other prizes) so they'll hopefully go down quite a bit.

Anyway, I don't want to spend a lot of timing ranting about this, nobody needs to bore themselves reading my rather weak attempt at debating.

No. that's not correct. There are not 5000-6000 answers for "real" Trivias, only for non Subeta giveaway Trivias. There are rarely more than 2000-2500 answers for actual Trivias. And it has gone up, from 500, to 1000, to 1500. More than 2000 answers tend to bog down the site when the prize awarding script runs. The only reason that the one Trivia even got to 5K answers is that I was off sick for three days.

I think you're imagining that most of us are spending more time being frustrated than we actually are. Sure, I'm irked that I had no chance to answer it. But I can come by, discover a new trivia, and vent, and spend no more than five minutes doing it. What's more interesting to me is the number of people who, every time anyone complains about a trivia, say "it's just a game" and "don't be mean to staff, they work hard" and "you should feel lucky we have trivias at all."

For me, the trivia is a major attraction to the site. It's not just a "small" part of why I'm here.

And of course there's going to be more trivias. But I'm never going to have a chance to win those bunni earrings.

Sorry, but I just can't make myself see the other side of the argument. I guess I understand why it'd be frustrating, but the trivia is such a small part of the site that it seems silly to me to make a big deal about it. Unless some sort of MAJOR corruption was being done by the staff, which isn't the case. And the point is, this certainly doesn't happen for every trivia. There are some that last for absolute aaaages (well they feel like it xD). There's going to be plenty more trivias, and you're bound to have time to do some of them.

a) Duh.
b) If it's not fun, that's not our fault--that's a design fault.
c) Winning is more fun than not winning. Not winning due to circumstances completely beyond our control (but not staff control) is even less fun.

Okay, I'm sure I was tricked by this one. I don't have proof, but crud I'm sure I was.

Anyway, as to timing. I answered rather than thinking more on it because I saw it had a lot of answers and was afraid it'd end quickly. I guess a handful of other people either do this or find the trivia end while they are still thinking about it.

DebiLee, I know you can't post what time the trivia's ending when you first post the trivia because you don't know, but when you see it has a lot of answers do you end it right away when you log in? If not, that is, if you see it's time for it to end but do other things first, would it be possible for you to post on the trivia page that the trivia will be ending at ##:##. A one hour warning won't help more than a few people, but I'm sure those who see it would appreciate it.
