ChaosRocket.. you can feed your pet a DM potion.

Yeah but if that's what it was referring to, the answer would be "dark matter potion." You can't feed your pets "dark matter," and "dark matter" was the answer.

Are the common elixirs such as Anyu Elixir, Bovyne Elixir, etc. considered a color change or just a species change?

Dammnit. That means I definitely got it wrong. ::runs off crying::

I'm sorry, but your answer of dark matter potion for the trivia was incorrect.

Hmm how can you feed straight up dark matter to your pets???

Maybe it's just me, but it seems we might be discussing the trivia in a bit too much detail...

oops nevermind the BEDMAS thing, i just read the "ignore the order of operations" lol.

People are overthinking too much. As I said before, all you have to do is be able to read, count, Know what you are counting, and be able to work a calculator.

I think I am reading 'A' differently to everyone else..

I am reading it as the item has to change both the colour and species right? So a simple Bloodred potion wont be counted because it only changes the colour.

But Common wont count, because as far as I know there isnt a 'Species Name' Common Elixir.. Just a Common Elixir.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I tried. xD
I'm pretty sure I'll fail, since I only counted the actual tomes, I have no idea if there's more books to give out stats.
Annnd I fail at maths anyways. But I really want the prize~ spazz

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

: well... most of people think that the common elixirs have to be considered for the count!
My problem is that I don't know if only elixirs change colors and species... maybe there are other kind of items

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Was there ever any comment whether "common" was considered a color change???

A scientific calculator would only do it in the "order of operations" if you place brackets. And since Keith didn't do that you just go from left to right

I think that those of use who didn't have to round did it wrong.

There are two ways to do the problem, one you have to round down, and the other, you don't.

Mmmm, so I guess my problem is that I didn't need to round up my final answer.... A/B gave me an answer with that was not a whole number, but when I did the other things to it, I wound up with a round number.

I only rounded the final one

ChaosRocket.. you can feed your pet a DM potion.
I was thinking it could be nightmare too, but then there was the "where there is one of me there is many" and "primary shape". Dark matter is circular and there are always lots of them floating around together.

Ehhh, I went for it and put in the answer I was getting. I think I messed up some of the numbers so it may not be right... I'm not too fussed about the prize though so I don't mind if I got it wrong.

I put nightmare potion...I don't understand how the answer was dark matter. Since when can you feed your pets dark matter? It doesn't make any sense.

What I mean is: do we round down only the final answer or the intermediate ones as well?

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

To make that clearer - press '=' after every step

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

With the scientific calculator bit - I'm pretty sure, seeing as he wants you to /ignore/ the order of operation, you just do A/B. Then add C. Then multiply by D. That should give you X. You round that down and you have your answer.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

You round down the decimal. So if your answer is 120.7 you round DOWN to 120. No decimals in the answer.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Marianne

Do we only round down the answer? I actually come out with a whole number for that, even though one PART has decimals; I'm assuming we don't round down then... All this work - I'd like it to be a little more clear.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Good point. Keith, could you clarify if you did the calculation in a "scientific calculator" or just a regular calculator?

Because the scientific calculator would calculate using order of operations. A regular calculator does not. Following the order of operations is the only way I'm coming up with a decimal to round down unless one of my numbers is just off. Sorry to be a pain.

I know you have all this fancy high-tech equipment so I was just wondering.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Oops sorry Slorgz. My post on this didn't go thru before. I wonder though if a scientific calculator would make a difference though since it would do order of operations for you.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Slorgz, read what I just wrote. I just said no. Keith says DO NOT follow this order of operation. Do A then B then C then D in a straight line.

Hooray for Gelatinous Nightlings ^__^

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Ceran, it means do A/B then add C then multiply by D. In a regular math problem you would do the division and multiplication first and then the addition. Keith is saying don't do that. Just go in a straight line.

**Normally I would be ecstatic that I came out with a whole number but I assume ROUND DOWN indicates there will be a need to round down. Crap, I must be off.
