You may have noticed some new information on the item popups, as well as the trades :)! We are now collecting data on the average prices of items, that will be displayed in various areas of the site :D
Over the next few days, this will be improved to show both the daily average (as in, just today) and the monthly average (so if someone trys to increase the value of an item today, you'll be able to tell ;))

this is AWESOME with a capital AWESOME. This makes it SO much easier to control my spending, see what item I can afford at the cost it is worth. I appreciate this. very. much.

Cool. Now we just need the rarity numbers back.

to be honest I can't really see how this is going to help anyone. people who price extra low will bring the average down low them buyers will insist on everything being cheaper. but maybe this is the idea of this new feature, is it designed to try and reduce the amount items are worth?

If the aim is to help players not get ripped off by unscrupulous types it would be better to make more reminder note type things like the one when you go to give an item to someone. or maybe a further step in the buying process. So say if you are buying something over 500k you get an are you sure you want to make this purchase or some such note.just an idea

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

this is a good idea,i do hope you do the same in the plushie shop,as some of the items in there are very over priced,

I'm not sure I like this very much. Another site I played on for a very long time, started this same process. It eventually worked it's way into the trading area of the game. In every trade it offered the seller 3 prices to sell their item for. Sellers no longer had the option of putting their own price tag on the items and buyers always wanted to pay the lowest option while sellers wanted at least the average amount or the higher amount. I quit that game as this totally ruined any opportunity for making a profit.

I'd really hate to see this develop into the same amount of control over sellers as the other site

I hope people will understand this....for instance, the 1 Month Gold Account Medal is currently showing an Average Price of 900K (which we all know is not the normal price for it). I would have to assume that someone threw a medal in their user shop today, which is why the average price is showing as 900k.

I would hate to lose a sale on Trades for the actual going price for a GA medal because they think 1.8 - 2 million (or whatever) is too high due to that 900K average price that is listed there. (I guess this is what Earthen was talking about below)

Although I'm going to continue to go by my own methods of selling, I'm sure this will be helpful to many people, especially the buyers.
It's refreshing to see a website staff genuinely want to protect its users from being ripped off; with /fake/ currency.=, no less.
It shows that Subeta really is a COMMUNITY, and not just some pet site.

Do I mistrust the autopricer? Yes I do. I used it a couple of times and when I checked, my items were NOT the lowest in shops. I started hand pricing and my items sell MUCH faster now.

I'm not sure that this works. The item Dove for example - has a listed average price of 1 million. There is one dove in the shops for 1 million. Two are priced in trades - one for 1.9 million and the other for 4 million. So how does an average price of 1 million happen? Also so people have items priced for a ridiculously high price (a 5 million sp item priced at 20 million) is the highest and lowest price removed when averages are totalled?

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by BeachBum

I like it as a guide. Besides...it's still up to you what you're willing to accept for your item..lowest price, average price, or exactly what you want.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Templar

-nods a bit- It's alright.... It's just a little strange, since 'Average' would be lowest if it was a quicksale at 1mill without other prices to compare it to. I hope it can be changed to include trade prices as well.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by DJ

Yeah.. this would probably work better if it weren't a days average but maybe a last 10 minutes or last hour average. I can just see it now, "Well today's average says 50k so I'm not paying 3m for a Reborn Potion @:!"

I'm not stupid, Disney, but it could drastically affect the price of rare items. People would want to pay the 2mill instead of the actual price of the item.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Earthen. Does the word average mean anything to you?

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

But what about the people who are affected by others who undercut to sell an item worth... 2.5mill for 1mill in their shops? Won't it hurt them if their item has 'Average Price: 1,000,000' on it?

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Funny thing is, over the past year I've been keeping track of prices of all collectables (beanbags, plushies, etc) I don't have in my collections in an excel spreadsheet documenting the lowest, highest and current prices that I see when I'm online.

This cuts some of my work in half. Thank you!! ;

Is this just based off of user shop prices? 'Cause I think for this to work, you'd have to include trade prices as well... and it really should be the average, not lowest.

Ariel I know what you mean - if someone sells a rare item by chance or bad luck (or choice) through their shop for 1mil and the item is really worth much more I can imagine the buyers sMails to sellers of that item at the current trade value price right now. It is a good way to see that a great snipe has occurred though =D

I really do think that, once it has time to collect the info, it will actually be pretty handy. Don't be too quick off the mark to judge this.

And I think a couple people missed the point...it's not a demand that you price it at a certain price, it's a -guide- to help people see what the average -is- for that item.

So that means if you have an item that really is worth 80K, and you price it at 80K, the people will mouseover, see that the average is 80K and go "Oh, ok! That's a great price for this item!" and buy it. And it'll also help curb that annoying "I'll buy out all the cheapy items and artificially inflate the price by millions and then screw people over!" (Especially when it still stocks in official shops...)

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Ariel

The only issue I see is really rare items that are much more than 1 mil, if one gets thrown in at 1 mil, what happens over the next few weeks? Will the average just stick at 1 mil? Or will it somehow show, "above 1 mil" or something?
