Having trouble selling those last few items before the Holidays? To continue our testing, we have raised the user shop limit to 1,000,000sP :o!
However, the autopricer is still 250,000sP.

I think we all are used to trades being used for high-price items in petsites, but that's not really what they are intended for.

SHOPS are for sP. TRADES are for item-for-item.

Whether or not petsites have grown accustomed to that, it is certainly no fun when the sellers or some rare item have all been offline for months.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Why not close the whole TP and raise the user shop limit to 1'000'000'000? xD

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

i preferred it when the limit was 250000sp because 1mil
is a lot, but on the bright side i might be richer

I like this, because often I get stuck in quests where I have to buy an unbuyable item, and all of the people with them in trades are offline. However, there is also the downside that so many other people have pointed out.

At the moment, though, I think the benefit for questing users outweighs the problems.

Dark_Shadow, why do you want to control who gets an item? If you price something at 1 mil in trades and someone offers 1 mil, are you really going to reject them? That's just ridiculous.

And look, guys. I could rs a new item before anyone else and price it at 5 mil in trades. A bunch of other people who rsed it after me would probably follow my lead and price theirs around that high. Does that mean it's worth 5 mil? No, it doesn't. That's some random number I came up with. Who cares if it deflates? It's just getting down to a more reasonable price. Once supply and demand even out, it will settle at the proper price. Just look at the former wearable staff customs -- supply is still high enough and demand low enough that none of them go for pennies, even after over a year.

I see what's being said about undercutting on trades too. However, it's much easier to correct an undercutting in trades then shops. I saw on item in shops that was 200k. Someone messed up and put 20k. Then 10 more users autopriced for 20k. Now, imagine that kind of mess up on a rare item you restock. One user trying to sell an item worth 1 mil for 800k is normal and tend to sell fast. Shops fill up faster than trades. My friend and I went and priced all this month's DP items. Most of them aren't worth anything now.

Highlandlass said it very well. Users should have to work for some things. Those goals normally involve trades.

I personally don't care who buys my things, just as long as someone does. I don't want to play some big power trip with who gets my things, I just want the SP. It happens much faster in the shops than trades. Now instead of sticking stuff in my vault to rot (because they rot anyway in Trades) I can stick it in my shop and get rid of it

I personally would love if they totally got rid of the trades altogether, I hate them!!!!

I don't think I like this idea much, though I have a few higher priced items in my shop at the moment. It seems to defy the point of trades, just a little... Especially if the price limit keeps being raised =/
But I'm sure others like it and you guys have reasoning behind it.

This is something I really don't like. Seeing the prices drop for the 500k and under items from under cutters is bad enough but now 1 mill? That's crazy. If your stopping with a million why not just put no limit and only auto price to 250k? What's the difference? There isn't any. Prices on some items are bound to fall now. I Rs a lot and the higher price items are the main source of my income. Now, after a while they won't be worth anything nor worth Rs.

I prefer the trades over shops because you aren't stuck -at- that limit like you are with shops. Two with trades you control who gets the item you can't do that with shops.

I think it's a great idea. Kudos! The AP isn't to blame for undercutters - undercutters are. And there is so much rampant undercutting in trades, it leaves everyone bleeding. So what difference does it make if someone undercuts a 1mil item in trades or in the shops? None, absolutely none.

i think the 1 million price mark is the way to go money is earned so easily that it just makes sense instead of having them sit in trades where you might get it or you might not keep it up i love it

Wow! 1m is alot but I think 500k would be much better...

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

The new shop limit makes absolutely no difference at all to the undercutters. None what so ever, they did the same on the Trades, just thank goodness the autopricer doesn't go that high. I think that (for me anyway) this is perfect, I personally HATE the Trades, and would rather never have to deal with them ever.

There are four people in our house that play Subeta, at least I now get to sell my things. My Mum hogs the computer to play on her account. Before I never stood a chance at all to ever sell things, because I couldn't be on here to quickly accept a Trade, people would pay the higher prices from someone else just because they were online.

I hope you plan to drop the limit back to like 500k or something after December 31st. I see the good but the bad is outweighing it. Items that were 1mil are now like 300k thanks to those that can't price intelligently. That might sound harsh but it's true. There is no need for undercutting 50-100k each time.

I like this. If something deflates more rapidly in shops, that just means it was never worth as much as people were asking in the first place (that is, the demand isn't high enough and the supply low enough to justify high prices). If people put UBs in trades for over a mil and others don't want to pay that, soon enough the items will show up in shops, just like they did before. I can't see any downsides; I only wish the autopricer would work for everything in shops (or at least to 500k).

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I love it, as I can't spend very long on the computer I now get to sell some of my stuff that would sit in Trades for ever. Now people can buy from me even if I can't be on here all the time.

Thank you Staff this is a huge improvement.

Ok, I can see how staff can see how this would be good for the holidays. Seeing as for last minute shopping and selling quickly for money. But the way that the economy is being changed, it's ruining it for the rest of the year. This wasn't the best idea but seeing as some people are mixed, I can't say I agree or disagree with it. For the holidays, it was a good idea, but if you leave it like this, it will ruin the economy with inflation and deflation. I wouldn't have a problem with it personally, because I don't sell much, but it will upset a handful of people.

I love the new limit, thank you Keith and Subeta Staff.

It means that I can finally clear out some of my clutter that I don't need (or want) To my way of thinking what is the use of an Unbuyable sitting for months in Trades, this just means that the prices are too high otherwise someone would buy them. What good are they to me then, I would rather clear them out and make room for something else. I would rather get my sp and move on to something else, I would rather use my sp then have it just rot. To my way of thinking a rotting Unbuyable is just an Unsellable.

I also like the idea that once someone makes a decision to buy now, they click and it is theirs. Instead of making bids and changing their minds.

I love my Gold Account (and everything about it) I love that I don't have to hand price 30 or more pages of stuff. So what that I have to hand price a few things, it is MUCH better than hand pricing ALL of it.

I also love the idea of doing my bit to help support my favourite site, and help in my very small way to keep it going.

It is so very easy to make sp on this site, I don't understand what everyone is complaining about, so you win a few and you loose a few, so what. That is life!

I happen to like this, although I worry about my bank account now that previously UBs are easier to obtain. Frankly, I never really understood the point of upper shop price limits on this or other pet sites. Forcing people to use Trades adds an extra cost to already expensive items, as the seller prices higher to make up for the decreased ease of selling. The higher price plus the decreased ease of buying reduces the amount of people willing to buy, and items linger in Trades... making trades even less attractive as a means of selling and continuing the spiral. (I'm trying very hard not to use actual econ terminology here...)

Trades should be for trading, one item for another, and shops should be uncapped entirely, to my mind. There are more than enough buyers and sellers in the Subeta economy for prices to reach a fair equilibrium by those means.

I agree that things had gotten stupidly inflated over the last few months. I agree that this will make it easier to obtain wishlist items. What I don't agree with is that this is how things "should" be. I get it that a year ago prices were lower on almost everything. Let's take a minute and put that in perspective though. A year ago there were not nearly as many players either. I started playing around this time last year and I can tell you that UBs were not in fact in the 350k range like someone stated. I paid over a million for my Buffy Plushie which was a highly desired plushie at that time and I know I paid close to a million for several other wishlist items as that was the going rate for them. DPs were about 1-1.5 million unopened and they could range pretty high after opening as well, just not crazy high like nowadays. So, back to the here and now, for every item that is on my wishlist, there are probably at least 1000 other players with that exact same item on their wishlist as well. That usually means that that particular items price will rise significantly. Now, yes, if it has been sitting in trades and isn't selling than it may be overpriced. OR...it may be that ever since the God Weapons were introduced nobody wants to spend any sP or trade any items as they are saving for whatever uber weapon they have in mind. When the GWs were introduced is when I started to notice the crazy inflation as well as the increase in difficulty selling items. Everybody suddenly wanted pure and lots of it for everything in trades. (I know that using words like "everybody" and "everything" is incorrect as I have run into some people who do actually break that mold, but it seems the prevailing idea as of late). I just don't see raising shop price limits to 1 million as a good thing. I don't see how it will help the economy or the relations between the players here. It has already caused bickering and strife amongst players(just check out the forums). And, yes, it is supposed to be "testing" but what if it becomes permanent? Would any of the current supporters feel differently if that was the case I wonder. My personal opinion is that a wishlist shouldn't be easily obtainable. You should have goals to work towards and yes, some of them should take longer than one month. I don't want it to become like on Neopets where you save every point for a couple of years to paint one pet, but there has to be a happy medium somewhere out there. Eh...for now, my trades will stay right where they are and I'll sit back and watch to see how this all goes while hoping for the best.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Everybody keeps saying deflation, deflation, deflation. Well the truth is UBs have inflated a huge amount in the past few years. UBs used to cost 200k-350k on the high end unless they were really rare or special. And then they were maybe 2 mil. Very few items cost more than that. Now everything is automatically 1 mil. THAT is ridiculous. With things so inflated, yeah you make more, but you also pay way more than you would have a year ago. And there's no reason for it. It's not that the value of items has gone up. It's that the value of sp has gone down. This is a game and the value of the money shouldn't fall that much unless something is broken in the system. As someone else said, supply and demand. If your item is worth 5 mil people will pay that much, if not then lower your price or don't sell it.

I personally don't think this is a good idea at all, but I don't get a say so in that decision, so I guess I'll see how it goes. I feel that 250k was a good amount to raise shop limits to. It gave more leeway on how you could sell those slightly UB items without going nuts. With the continual increase in shop price limit, it really has changed the definition of Unbuyable and has made trading even harder(at least for me) as people seem to expect you to put anything that falls in the limits in your shop. Did it never occur to some people that I have my stuff in the trades for the purpose of actually trading them for other items and not just pure sP? With the raised price limits in shops though, I have had comments and sMails that are close to rude and downright demanding that I move some of my stuff from trades to my shop. This hasn't really improved Subeta as far as I have seen, but again, I guess we shall see.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I... I just died a little inside. I guess whenever I play Subeta I'll have to hum 'I Will Survive' to myself just to get through forcing myself not to buy minions that were unbuyable.

I don't know... true, it's just a test, but you should have kept it at 500k. Why should the trades exist if the shop limit is up to one million? It's helpful to some people, but there are only so many items valued at two million and above.

While many complain about price deflation (which is life, regardless of if the item is a UB or not), I'm pretty happy with the fact that I can get more items off my wishlist without dealing with trades. And because it seems most people have something on their wishlists, hopefully everyone will be able to get deals on at least some items. If your item worth 1m on trades drops to 500k, fine, you get 500k. But what if the UB item you've been wanting for your gallery drops as well? Less money in pocket along with the desired item costing less still results in you buying the item (more or less). And yes, that may not hold true for people buying those 60 million point weapons out of the MC, but really, just save for longer than you did before. =)

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

If I just get 500k for an item that before was worth 1mil due to price dropping, that's ok. Because the items I want will have dropped in price as well. All this price dropping does is make numbers smaller.

The value of an time that once was 100 sP and now is 10 sP is still same value when other items drop too, i.e. one from 1000 sP to 100 sP.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User
