I am not attempting to suck up in any way, this is simply what I think about this:
Debi, you work a fun feature to make the site more entertaining, so don't take offense by reactions to little slip-ups like this if you can help it. (:
I never even saw a good percentage of the comments on this. As those who actually know me are aware, I recently had an incident occur. I generally wear prescription glasses, which I need, due to anesthetic during a surgical procedure having badly adversely affected my eyesight. However, they were recently lost at Wal-Mart, and, whoever found them evidently decided to keep them, for unknown reasons, as, as I said, they are prescription. I did check twice a week for a month, thinking that perhaps they had been picked up by a child, or someone from out of town, and it might take awhile for them to be returned. But they never were. My eye doctor is on vacation most of this month, and is booked solid for the rest of it, so I'm going in January to get new ones. So it was either cancel the Trivia for the entire duration, or muddle through half-blind. Since people do need the Trivias for Blue Building access, I chose the latter option, even though everything is basically extremely blurred for me. (Thank you so much to the several comedic friends of mine who sent me various Subetiam eyeglasses XD). In this particular case, the i happened to be next to an l, which made it extremely difficult for me to catch that it was missing. There is no automated spell check program for Staff to use on the site. I do find it interesting, and a bit disheartening, to see that people had evidently said that they'd rather see me actually fired over a simple typo, and therefore have no Trivias anymore at all, since no one else on Staff will touch adding them, exactly because of reactions (and overreactions, in some instances), such as were evidently expressed here, which, as I said, I never even saw. shakes head People also jumped the gun and assumed what they thought I meant by re-use... which, as everyone will soon see, was actually a far more literal usage of the term than people seem to have been anticipating... Also, Klaatu, whose comment I did happen to glance at, no, there absolutely have NOT been mistakes on 1/4-1/3 of the Trivias; that's just absolutely ludicrous. There have been several for which people have insisted that they're incorrect answers are correct, but that's not the same thing. Also, while I do really appreciate the overzealous defense put up by some on my behalf, I did miss the misspelling myself, I never said that I didn't; I just didn't happen to catch it, which, is my fault, yes, which I had never at any time, in anyway, denied. However, in my entire time adding Trivias, this is only the second answer that I've actually misspelled. So, once again, apologies; I'm subject to human error... as much as I might like to believe otherwise... XD

I really think the "get over it" comments need to go. They are entirely unhelpful and very rude - you guys sound just as bad as the people you are reprimanding. I also think the "Debi needs to be fired" comments were completely over the top. I am sure Debi's tries very hard to make this activity enjoyable for us. A day like this must spoil it for her, too.
A mistake was made and Debi probably feels pretty darned lousy about it. Who needs this kind of added stress?
I am a stickler for spelling, but I have often have watched my fingers type faster than my brain can keep up. (Thank goodness for edit buttons!) I can imagine quite easily how a mistake like this can happen. I hope Debi isn't too flustered by all of this. It will blow over soon. It always does.
Calm down guys, it's pixels. Debi is a human who does amazing work on trivias and made 1 mistake. So what? Haven't you ever made any mistakes? the prize is being reused anyway. what more can you ask for?

Heh, you would think with Neopets being such a large business, they'd be more efficient, but about half the site is outdated art.
Anywho, though, I agree. I wish people would just get a little more of a sense of humor, and less of a lynch mob attitude.

I agree with you RaVel, about that the users are more worried about misspellings and stuff. But that doesn't mean like people are being.
And sorry about the Neopets thing, I just assumed that since they were a big company that they had things more professional. (Not saying subeta isn't , just Subeta isn't a HUGE company and all)
Still though-Debi is still getting a lot of unneeded lip about this. If people complain over something like this she might not work here(weather it's from people complaining and she just leaves or from people complaining about her and higher people up fire her) any more. It's not right to get so angry to a person over something like this.

Actually, on Neopets, there's a LOT of misspellings, if you travel around the site for some time, you'll notice.
What I love about Subeta, though, is usually it's so relaxed and good-humored (I mean, look at most of the item descriptions!). Please don't tell me it's going to be the users, and not the staff, that are going to nit pick over everything and change that...
Why is everyone so upset about a trivia question? it's actually stupid to be worked up over this. Is it gonna matter a few days from now? Well to me it's not, she said that the item was gonna come around again, so just wait. Subeta is awsome site, and you all are just getting worked up over a trivia question. I'm sure that all of the people that are complaining still have fun on this site than neopets. Neopets you don't find any miss spelling or stuff like that. But do you have as much fun, no. So just face that fact that it was a mistake. Get over it.

There's been a bunch, and there should be a bunch more. If everyone complains, yells at Debilee, and tosses out various insults, the staff could very easily stop producing trivias, which is something I'm sure very few people want.

I don't care about the spelling mistake, I just want the prize that I got for putting the right answer. I don't think it's fair to make another trivia question and have the prize from the past trivia on it that I tried to win. It's just not right. That's why I suggested putting it up as a Free Gift. I won that prize fair and square.

Heh, might as well get used to it, Nestly. I've found that the only posts that get attention on this site are the ones that get construed as direct attacks (correctly or not) and the ones that brown-nose. The neutral and logical in-between comments are just filler for all the drama.

Please be realistic with your criticism. Yes, it is a professionally run site. At the same time, it is STILL a site run professionally ... by humans. Humans make mistakes. No matter WHAT "professional" site/business/whatever you work for or come in contact with, you WILL find mistakes like that if you watch long enough.
It was a typo. They happen. Be kind, and move on with life.
Omgosh people, no other site does 1/4 of the awesome things this site does for us and I can't believe the mean/rude/whining comments over a simple spelling mistake.

I'm amazed at the hypocrisy here. Something is wrong with you if you never make mistakes. Do we expect people to be perfect just because they work for a website?
It's likely not even Debi's fault, don't blame it on her. She doesn't deserve it.
And, for the record, people aren't expected to pay real money for the site. The cash shop is there for people who wish to support the site as well as get some cool items.

Nestly: There's a difference between rude and constructive. And there's also a difference between fault and accidental. I don't know who exactly checks the Trivia, or if it even IS checked, but the fact is that it should be, and these situations are ridiculous for such a popular, 'professionally' run site. It's not good just to moan about the admins being lazy or stupid. That's not what I'm saying.
Of COURSE people make mistakes. And that's fine, if you LEARN from them. Obviously this Trivia mishap is happening over and over again.
And sucking up to the staff members and yelling at the people who are complaining doesn't help either. They're silly internet pixels on a petsite, big whoop right? That's not the point.
The silliest thing is that a simple Trivia game is making so many silly mistakes. Try to be more careful is the point I'm trying to get across.

I was wondering why it said my answer of Home Appliances was not correct since I copied and pasted it so I wouldn't get it wrong. Now I know why it said I got it wrong.
well, that's true. She would know the answers on the ones that she comes up with. But I had heard that if it was a user-suggested trivia she couldn't see the answer. And I didn't realize that she had come up with this question.
No matter, I try and guess every trivia, it's all fun. I wasn't trying to complain, it was just a suggestion I thought of.
I'm not one to point fingers because if I were in charge, I'd probably make a typo or two, too. I even worry about typos when answering the questions which is why I always copy and paste my answers when I submit them.

It seems like the users that use the cash shop are the ones that are complaining the most and that they expect everything to be perfect because they pay for things on the site.
Technically, its your judgment as to whether or not support the site even if the grammar and spelling is not that great sometimes. If in fact you know it's not great with grammar and spelling, then why give them your hard earned real life money.
I'm not saying you shouldn't support the site. But everyone has their own idea of what their money goes towards. They would like Subeta to run faster and be able to hold many users online at one time.
In my opinion, people that support the site don't really do it for grammar and spelling purposes, they do it to have fun here.
Debi is on subeta's timezone. Given the time trivia came out, I'd excuse her for a few mistakes and spelling errors. She's reusing the item and I'm pretty sure she will make the question fairly easy too (like most of the other questions this month). Nobody's punished! xD Let's just wait for the next one? c:
