It's that time of the year! The shops of Subeta have sent their leftover items to , who has put together a 1sP auction!

Basically, over 3,000 items have been added to the Auction center, each going to end in 4-5 days! Go, and find some items that you enjoy, and start the bidding wars :)

Poo. I was on vacation while these were going on. Ah, well. I had a good time, and everyone who got something in probably pretty happy.

Could someone tell me why some staff members seem to be deliberately raising the prices of some auctions which they have no intention of winning?

I hope I get the Bloody Hydrus necklace, I need it for item hunt and its cheaper in auctions than it is in trades lol xD I gotta do someehting like this one time, get a load of UBs and dump 'em in the auction center for 1 sP xD lol

i think it's a cool thing that you're doing but it sucks cause users are bidding so much to win items that they're actually making them higher than in shops or in trades... i haven't been able to cath any good deals at all.

It would be alot more fun if they would hide the ending times. At least that would get rid of half the complainers, lol, just cant make everyone happy, so is the way of things...

Same here dani, I'm bidding on something but it's going to finish at 1.22am. :/ I wish they'd staggered the times a little.

Out of curiousity, what's SubetaTeam going to do with all the money?

I found at least three of my wishlist items on here, but i kinda find it sad that some people have already gone half a mil to a mil or more on some of the others. It doesn't give anyone a chance that wanted them. Also, I think the ones that do that have money coming out their rear who just go and stick 'em in the trades to get even MORE outta them! Maybe the next time you guys do this, you could cap the max bids to like say 500 sp? It'd make it fair for the rest of us.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got three plushies that I'm bidding on that I wanna be the top bidder on.

I went through all of the pages and all of the items and wrote down a list containing 80 things that I want and what time and what day they're set to expire. Some items have doubles, triples, and quadruples, so I'll have extra chances if I miss it the first time around. I'm pretty hyped about this, and I'm saving my sP for a big spending spree!

oh and I am happy it wasn't a giveaway altho I prolly won't be participating in the auctions (can NEVER remember that far away...) But a giveaway just lags the site so much it's ridiculous. People logging on just for free stuff burns me up. I love giveaways but they should be rare events.

ok - fine, after reading DebiLee's post I take back what I said. I guess I did misunderstand "1 sP auction". I took it to mean only bid 1 sP at a time, but I guess I was wrong. All that meant was everything started out at 1 sP. mea culpa.

I don't see the problem with waitin a few days.

Also, this will get some excess sP out of the Economy and add some very rare items instead. Its a fair trade and a wise decision.

I hope this doesn't end up like last year where we bid our sp, and if we got outbid we lost the sp we bid. It really made it difficult last year. I was afraid to bid on anything, because I kept losing money! Has this been fixed?

I Like this Idea, I love that subeta staff is so envoloved with other users and comes up with great things, and new clothes, (=D) everyday! 4-5 days is fine, this is just a fun way to try and win something. And to get the auctions back in use, it doesnt seem to me that they are very popular.

Hope this helps.

Maybe if I had the funds I would bid like crazy but umm... Well recentley I went on one of my 'blow the lot' spending sprees and spent all but about 300k sp so I am again trying to build a good sum up. Being how lazy I am at times it may take awhile, i'll try harder though :3.

I wish that they had capped the amount you can bid by each time to maybe 5-10k? Otherwise it means only those who are extremely wealthy can win any 'good' items and they are the ones who have all the ones in trades in the first place.

In reading over these, I think that some people didn't quite understand some aspects of auctions. There is no "playing fair" to it, and you can increase by whatever amount you'd like, not just 1 sP increments at a time. When I bid on eBay auctions, I very often just leave a bid for the highest amount that I'm willing to spend, just in case something happens and I cannot be on at the end (we've lost temporarily lost power due to three poles being struck by vehicles this summer alone). If someone outbids me then, oh well, it was the most I was willing to spend anyway. If I do choose to bid on any of these auctions I wouldn't waste my time trying to go up only 1-5 sP at a time. There are many start at a penny auctions on various real on-line auction sites, but nothing ever actually sells for a penny; none of these auctions would have either. We just had a huge giveaway not long ago; that isn't the point of these auctions. These are more for perhaps having a dream item or two that can't be found anywhere, to provide a possible opportunity to get them. You might never even see the item that you want in a giveaway; this way you can choose which to bid on.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Rosethorn

I don't think that putting items in the DC is more fair, and it ruins the economy more. :/ I personally find these auctions amusing to participate in and watch.
I do wish Delerium had waited a bit before bidding 1.5m on that posh collar though. XD -pokes her-

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Yallinga
User Avatar

I think people have to understand, some of those, like myself, who made large bid on a few items will not be around for the rest of the auction and wanted to put in a 'fair' bid that may or may not get the item. Yeah, it might go against the 1sp thing, but if it was a true 1sp auction, there would be a maximum of 1sp increasements on all items

I may be dumb, but I don't understand the reasoning behind this - and definitely not the people, who (always) will artificially push the price (for themselves!!!) by bidding at the very beginning of a 5 day long auction.
