No that's perfectly fine ^^ The reasons are very understandable :3
And I can completely understand about the little lamp :3 Looking back at it now I can see that it does get in the way a bit.

Hanako's is very pretty, but I'm afraid I wnt be using it. The changes to the face make it much too adult. If you look at the old torrent, it's a goofy little beast.

I intentionally gave him a more muscular body, to keep it from resembling /so/ strongly other places and their fishes. Alnog with the muscular body comes the deeper sea style fins (though I do think your side fins are completely gorgeous.

The addition of any lamp at all makes the torrent much too heavy. I'm sorry for everyone who wants it back. Last attempted revamp, so many people /screamed/ to have it removed - we listened. o-o I presented about seven possibly designs for the artist crew to mull over. Some with a lamp, some without. This one was chosen as the best looking. (Though the lamp on yours, the torrent is looking at it. Pets are supposed to focus on the screen. If I used your redline, the poor beast would have the lamp in it's face, obstructing it's view.)

It is a very nice fish, and I do appreciate your redline. ;-;

The body is beautiful. :3 The head is a little out but..everyone has said that already so there is no point in re-hashing.

If the torrent ends up looking like this, I may just want one. ... -can't wait to see what the hydrus one would look like- o3o!

I started to write i realy like the redraw but miss the dangling light thing (as if nobody else already said that X3)
After seeing Hanakos adjustments, i must say i would like that even more! =^.^=
(like the new eye direction and the now more fitting front fins and the removed shadows on the site)
In Hanako's i just would make the erm... stem? of the dangling thing a little thinner and less connected with the base of the fin.

But hell, i vote for the new one anyway! XD

Okay instead of two I ended up with one redline which I think helps a bit with the flow of the Torrent :3

Adjustments.
Pectoral Fins-I think making them flowly helps them to match with the tail and dorsal fin. Same with the larger curves making it more graceful. I also moved them up a bit further on the body so they look more like fins rather than flippers.
Dorsal Fin-I lessened the extent to which it bent and stretched :3 My other comment I believed explained the reason.
Eyes-I raised it's left eye a bit to level it with it's right eye same with the eyebrow. I changed the direction that it was looking as I liked how the old one seemed to be looking at something and this adjustment doesn't affect the more nuetral emotions that the pets have.
Head-I added gills as it breaks the image a bit. I lessened the amount the cheek jutted out as I think that is what made it look somewhat detached and unfish like as well fish don't have defined cheeks. I lessened the nose dip by the slighest.
Body-I made it slightly thinner on the left side and added a small line on the right which tapers out to show that it's bending.
Shading-I did these to sort of show you what I meant. The adujstments may be a bit hard to see with the faded image but I removed the shading along the side of the body and rounded the shadow on the nose so the nose doesn't jut out as much :3
Other- I added the little glowlight again. I'm not sure if you guys were planning to get rid of it completely but I thought that was quite cute and made it different from a goldfish/koi.

Hmmm... I'm choosing not to vote one way or the other right now.

The shading on this is very beautiful and I love the colours you have used.

The reason why I feel I can't vote is that as a few have stated that the head seems a bit awkward compared to the graceful body. This maybe because of the change in the body from the previous image as the whole Torrent was very cartoon like. The face was one of the features that did make it distingushable. So there are two ways I believe that may help it blend a bit better is either making the body a but more cartoon to match the face or make the face more realistic.

Just a few little things on the current one if you decide to keep it is that the Pectoral fins(front ones) seem rather stunted compared to the graceful tail and Dorsal fin. I feel that the dorsal find also bends slightly much. Those are usually kept relatively straight unless the fish is sick. And finally I think the lines of shading along the body gives the feeling that the Torrents body is somewhat squished from the top. If you viewed it front on it seems it would have a club like body shape which I don't think suits what you were going for ^^ OH! And gills :3

Sorry for my ramblings xD I have nine fish at home which I watch all the time is a very sad sad person I'll see if I can try 2 redlines of one suiting the head and one suiting the body. The problem though with fitting a head to the body is that I think it would require a more realistic approach and koi/ goldfish have eyes on the side of their heads so it's hard to have them showing both eyes.

But please don't take any of this the wrong way. None of it is meant to be rude. It's a very beautiful picture and I seriously envy your colouring and lineart so much 3

It's really great! I love the colouring and the patterns and I, for one, like the way the head stands out a little bit. Admittedly, it makes it look less fishy, but I like less fishy.

I prefer the expression on the old one though. I liked how cheeky and happy it looked. The expression on this one is boring, which is a shame when the rest of it is so awesome.

In theory I'd like to see the dangly thing back as well, but to be honest, I hadn't noticed it was missing until I read the comments here. xD

On an unrelated note, I fear that Arbor's post may have a substantial negative effect on the Texas tourist industry. x.x

Uh... Wowz.

I guess the blue fin, although highly acclaimed by a lot of people in these comments, seems a bit out of place, and I also miss the light-thing. Removing it may or may not interfere with pet design... I dunno.

I'm not voting in this poll, because I really can't decide.

I love this version! For one thing, it looks more realistic, the coloring is MUCH better, and they look so...alive! The artist did a VERY good job.

If there is a way to keep the light somewhere, and make the transparent blue, match for a transparent gold that it is, it would keep the uniqueness. I love the new look from before but this one is stunning.

One of the reasons the jewel might of been taken out was because a lot of people last time said the jewel on the forehead looked tacky if I remember correctly.

Personally I agree that if the light was added somewhere it'd fit the new torrent completely
That was one of the defining features of the old torrent.
I don't really have any critiques and I love the fact that it's so refine and looks like a koi, but I agree with robotoi in that adding the lamp would make it just perfect.

I would actually get one of these if I had a pet with a fish personality. I was never personally a fan of the

I voted new but I'm going to have to say I don't think it will be complete without the little lamp thing. It would be an awesome revamp if that little touch was just added.

It if goes through without that touch there are going to be a lot of items that will need to be fixed to fit I personally think it would just be easier to add the little lamp in now, and I can't see any reason to leave it out either. All in all, it's really quite gorgeous :3

I must say I like this new version better than the previous new version. The dorsal fin bothers me, though. I've never seen any kind of fish with one that bends like that.

Eh.After reading most of the comments I have to agree,the light and jewel is what made the torrent....the torrent,now it looks like it's bored and has the eyes like a human,the green doesn't seem to match as well as the gold had.I regret voting for the new one because I wish it were bouncy and happy.It's VERY BEAUTIFUL!But it's not enough to get me to adopt one....nor consider it.What can I say,I love furries!XDD

Finally. I always hated the Torrent, ever since I first laid eyes upon it. I then tried to ignore it forever since then.
This revamped version, looks oh so much better. I would actually get one, if any of my pets actually fit a fish personality.
The only thing that I can't help scratching my head over is it's "nose". I really can't explain it.
But the rest just tops it off with superawesomnessness.
This is Arbor's work, right? It just has to be. I know her awesome style ♥.

Well, it's a nice fish but it's no Torrent to me...
I liked the old Cartoon look.
(However not enough to create a Torrent...)
