Volunteers Needed for New Hair Layer!

We are looking for volunteers to help tackle one of our most-requested projects: making a hair layer for the wardrobe! That's right: at long last, hair will be getting its own layer, and we're inviting the community to help make it happen!

The new hair layer has already been set up and added to the site, and the custom wearable submission page has already been updated to put all newly-submitted wigs in the right layer. As a volunteer, you will be helping us sort items from the Head layer into the Hair layer. We will provide a special tool that makes it as fast and easy as possible. While volunteers will do this individually, we will have everyone in a private channel in the Subeta Discord Server to collaborate. (Interested in the Subeta Discord? Find it here!)

The requirements for this position are:

You must be able to work in a group setting with 15-20 other volunteers and Subeta staff members and
You must have (or be willing to use) Discord and be a member of the official Subeta Discord server so we can invite you into a private work channel

This is a volunteer-only position, so you will not be compensated. (However, little thank-you gifts might find their way to your account every now and then... ;) )

This is going to be interesting. I look forward to guidance as to what will and won't be on the new layer, including things that go on the head in place of hair, things that look like hairstyles made of leaves or feathers or crystal instead of hair, items that include a hairstyle with a hood or other head decorations, and small bits of hair that aren't entire hairstyles.

I hope this includes some head vs. hat fixes as well, I've noticed a lot of hats in the head section and many non-hat items in hats.

Did you try joining on a desktop or the mobile Discord app? I've never had an issue w/invites on the phone app. Did you get the chance to enter an email while trying to sign up? If so, check your inbox for an email from Discord-there may be a link to verify your email address.

I am most willing to help do this. I am however having issues trying to se up an account on Discord. It says the invite in invalid and wont let me enter anything after I "continue to site"

Since this is for volunteer positions, applicants should not expect compensation, and we also cannot promise specific "rewards" for helping out. The volunteers will be a massive help, so it's safe to say we'll find ways to thank them for their hard work! But it'll be a happy surprise whenever we do.

Oh, yay!! This is definitely a welcome change, very excited! I did have one question about the volunteer positions - Discord is required, but it isn't specified if volunteers are expected to be able to do voice chat specifically or not. Is text chat sufficient, or would we need to be available for voice/video as well?

- Since this is the first time we've done a project like this, we really don't have an exact time frame of how things may take! It will be somewhat volunteer-directed, and we'll all have to see together how quickly we can make progress :)

Ah okay. I don't use servers, so I didn't understand what that meant. I do now. TY for clarifying. I'll have to sit this one out, which is a shame. I've had too many people use my Discord to harass me in the past and don't want to open it again. :C
