Volunteers Needed for New Hair Layer!

We are looking for volunteers to help tackle one of our most-requested projects: making a hair layer for the wardrobe! That's right: at long last, hair will be getting its own layer, and we're inviting the community to help make it happen!

The new hair layer has already been set up and added to the site, and the custom wearable submission page has already been updated to put all newly-submitted wigs in the right layer. As a volunteer, you will be helping us sort items from the Head layer into the Hair layer. We will provide a special tool that makes it as fast and easy as possible. While volunteers will do this individually, we will have everyone in a private channel in the Subeta Discord Server to collaborate. (Interested in the Subeta Discord? Find it here!)

The requirements for this position are:

  • You must be able to work in a group setting with 15-20 other volunteers and Subeta staff members and
  • You must have (or be willing to use) Discord and be a member of the official Subeta Discord server so we can invite you into a private work channel

This is a volunteer-only position, so you will not be compensated. (However, little thank-you gifts might find their way to your account every now and then... ;) )

The channel to work on this is in the Subeta discord server, so you have to be a part of the server to join the channel.

Mostly just curious; is there a reason you have to be a part of the official Subeta discord server? I certainly would be happy to use discord, but unfortunately not at the cost of having my discord UN completely public. =/

I was actually looking through my old posts the other day and saw one discussing how we wanted a hair layer. So yay! I'd love to help, but I'm excited for this layer either way! I also didn't know there was an official discord, oops. Did we need to already have joined it?

@Last_Chance Invite link to Subeta's Discord You can join although I think the server is a bit quiet most of the time as it was previously only used for communication during down time. I assume we have to apply to actually help out, not just join the server.

Ahh if it didn’t involve Discord this would be my time to SHINE, I have a whole drawer dedicated to hair & I loveeee random sorting tasks. Any chance I could just.. not do the Discord thing and still add a bunch of items to the list?

This will be for ALL wig/hair-type items on site, and it will be ongoing until we're essentially done. We're sure there will be ones we run into after we're "finished", but we hope to get the vast majority taken care of this way.

I think they mean like instead of head and hat include a hair layer so it's easier to find your wigs. Which I think is a great idea :)

There isn't! Well, if you look in the wardrobe right NOW, there is, since added it in today. But no, up to today all wigs went into the head layer.

There is a head and a hat section in the layers and a lot of wearable hairs are stuck between the two. Sometimes CWs get put in the wrong one and that is one of the things they want to fix. :D
