Scootle Rainbow!

Well, you certainly have been busy! So many new scootles have bonded with Nature Hikers, it really does appear that they’re ready to be our pets! I’ve also been very successful with the potion testing. Behold, a scootle rainbow:

I’ve enlisted some help in getting elixirs made for the scootle, but for now the only way to adopt one will be to “unlock” the pet by bonding with it in the Nature Hike. Once you’ve bonded the first time, however, it seems that future scootles will immediately choose to come home with you, if you wish. I suppose they must pass the message on to their friends that you’re a good owner!

Oh, one more thing: it appears that wild scootles are genderless - but they do not keep this trait if they are changed into another species. How interesting! I can’t wait for the Subetapedia article!

These colours look amazing! Although I do like the common one, my favourites of the recolours are lilac, vibrant and marsh but they all look pretty great! :)

I really love the look of the vibrant scootle, as well as the common one. The gold one is nice too, because of the rainbow growth on the shell.

For anyone who is confused about bonding with the scootle: After you click on it in the first area of the Nature Hike, don't click on it again. If you do, you'll get a message saying wait until tomorrow. Clicking multiple times makes the scootle run away. If you leave the nature hike and come back after clicking only once or twice, the scootle won't be there. That's normal. Go to the second area of the hike on the second day, and click on the scootle only once. Repeat the process in the third and fourth areas for the following days. When you've bonded with the scootle, clicking on it on day four will allow you to adopt one if you have an available pet slot. And that's it!

I am going to assume that if wait a while after scaring it off, like a day or two, that the scootle bonding activity should reset, and you should be able to try again. I don't know if this is the case, but I hope it is.

I dont think clicking more than once has any effect. I clicked twice everyday.

These are quite lovely, but I wish there had been some indication that you aren't supposed to click on it more than once. I honestly thought, from what it said, that I had done something wrong or it hadn't registered that I clicked it, and when I clicked it again, it ran off and didn't come back today.

Oh, they're all so cute. <3 So if you adopt one and change it into something else, does its gender get randomized? Or do they have a unique snail gender (which makes sense, given how snails+slugs often work in real life)? I don't know if I'd ever have one of these as-is, but it would be a really appreciated work-around to buying a Genderless Berry. :')

it's correct, more of a yellow-orange that orange-yellow, taken from the irises of most pets that color. The Hipottu and Tigrean shade gets darker with the Aeanoid being the darkest.
