Hello Liebchens!

Much is changing here at ze brewery. It seems that October is a very busy time und I am not getting ze customer numbers I wud enjoy. Everyone is only caring about pirates und spooks! Ze real time to enjoy a cool crisp beer und a delicious vegan hot dog is in ze summer. So I’m moving! Alegarten will be back with new items next summer when I can have all ze attention for myself. I had excellent fun at ze food festival this year und I think that’s ze kind of crowd I’m looking for in ze future. Plus, Oatmeal loves to kick up ze summer dust und have his chin scratched in ze sunshine!

For one last time in October though, I’ll be opening my Food Haus, Geschenkboutique und Gute Ale shop, which will be staying open with unlimited stock until 11:59pm on October 6th. You can find all of my monthly brews in ze Gute Ale shop, too, from my leftover stock. Ze price is a little higher now for those who didn’t join my Selbstgebraute, you understand! Speaking of ze home brew club, I am unfortunately bringing that to an end, too. It was very fun for me but I have so many ideas for ze summer that I want to put my full efforts into that!

I really appreciate having the shops completely open; it gives me a chance to check the list of Foods Eaten for my Gourmand pet with the shop items and stock up. Two restocking holidays in a row always gave me a stress. Plus, having the cheapest beers available in unlimited supply let me finally get Gunter all the way drunk!

Not mad he is vegan, I think its cool to have an npc with those options. I am just sad that the one obviously german based npc had to be the one. Most german food is based on organs and potatoes (at least the well known types lol) and I loveee collecting it for my pets tc and just ya know, because my heritage.

As long as we keep getting cool german food elsewhere idc. The vegan stuff is super cool for other people and some other pets of mine. So no prob there.

Gunter HA is a d o r a b l e, LOL the no new items gives some of us the chance to catch up with the older stuff. [at least a bit, depending on our time on Subeta and the sP we have, of course]

Bleh, I guess I'll suck it up and deal with a summer Alegarten, but I'm also hoping it doesn't turn into a total Oatmeal Veganfest. Keeping Keehaul makes sense though if you put together the puzzle pieces Keelhauliday -> Pirates -> Treasure -> Booty -> Boo -> Ghosts -> Morostide

Seems smart to me, I kind of wish keelhauliday would move as well. Its so busy from oct-feb on site and Id love more time to rs pirate stuff. But either way, glad to see ale will get more attention with the move.

Just would have loved to see some new items as it has its final oktoberfest hurrah.

There were so many reasons why this is happening and I am just thankful it's not getting removed. Most of all, I am glad the artists will have a small rest between art-heavy events !

Pretty disappointed there's no new food for my Gourmand, but artists deserve a break between the onslaught of holidays, so I can't be too bummed. As long as I get new food to shove down my pet's throat for Morostide, I'm happy.

I'm actually really happy with the upcoming change, since "fudgedangit" is usually my response to it popping up - I always forget it's a thing, and then I have all the sp I wanted to save for lumi that is now going to the probably kind of expensive Alegarten items. I get that it's linked to Oktoberfest, but like...there are lots of other cultural celebrations year-round that could be just as relevant (Swiss days comes to my mind, since that's the one that's my heritage. It's on Memorial Day weekend, so end of summer, but still summer!) in their own ways. Summer is a good time for food and brings more to mind booths and booths of goods, like clothes and decor (again Swiss Days but also other festivals that run in a similar way like my city's Art Days) and that's when you want to be out getting all that stuff 'cuz the weather's nice. Pirates just have Talk Like A Pirate Day, in fall, when it makes a little more sense for them to be pulling into port anyway (idk maybe winter would make more sense still? I don't actually know a lot about sailing but it just seems like summer would be prime sailing time.) Either way I'm pretty excited about the move - and hoping either way older items or some new items will still come in later during this Alegarten season - if not for me, then for everyone else.

Makes sense to get cold beer and hot dogs in food trucks or whatever in summer, and less back-to-back events in fall. Win-win situation as far as I'm concerned!

Just a little bit sad there's no new items this year, I was looking forward to high-end alegarten fashion.

I'm all for this idea but I rather have the pirates event in the Summer and leave this holiday as is. Sad though there are no new ideas around.

I don't care about the food/drink but it would have been nice to have some new clothes. Especially since now we have to wait until next summer. I agree with others, they should have moved the pirate holiday instead.

Well that was .... disappointing :(

I can see why it makes sense to change the timing around (September - October is always mega busy), but it's a shame there's no new items in the shops this year. I bought the last three things I had on my wishlist, and unless the achievements mean I need to buy something I don't already have (Kosmo drank himself into a stupor last year with the alcohol he'd insisted I bought him), I won't be back at the Brewery until next summer.

I definitely do understand the call to end this, most years I honestly forgot about it until this one, and I've been on the site for awhile. I only remembered it because I was thinking about WoW's Brewfest for some reason about a month ago. I've always enjoyed the new items from this shop, but I'm glad it'll be more of a summer thing as the food truck event is super cute.

I'm SUPER looking forward to Veganfest next summer now so I really hope that's actually going to be a thing! I'm just not sure how I feel about that (or any other summer festival) being combined with Alegarten. This is actually one of my favorite Subeta holidays even though it's sort of a minor one and I don't want to see it stray too far from its original theme.

But yeah, definitely excited for more vegan stuff! :)

I like the idea. My two favorite holidays are Keelhauliday and Morostide, and my least favorite is Alegarten so I'm glad I can focus on those two in the fall. I don't drink so have no interest in the alcohol items and I'm trying to save sP so I don't want to dump it into food items when I'd rather spend it elsewhere.

Wait, what?! But I got all dressed up in my Lederhosen already and everything! I was really looking forward to Okt--uh, Alegarten. Ah, bummer.

Spacing out the events more sounds like a good plan. But I agree with others who suggested it would have been better to move Keelhauliday up earlier in the summer and leave Alegarten alone. Just really too bad we had to skip it altogether* this year when the change in schedule isn't even happening until next year...

*I know the shops are opening but no new stuff/achievements means not happening, as far as I'm concerned. I already have everything in there.

Eh. That's a bit disappointing. I always like having Alegarten as a quiet wind-down from KH, but I also appreciate Subeta's willingness to adapt events so they actually stay fun, rather than sticking to a rigid timeline.

Although, since there are no new items, I'm disappointed that more of the older items haven't been incorporated into the shop as a last hurrah. There are definitely still some old holiday shop items not in there.

I can't seem to be able to take a break at any time during the year. Summer was incredibly busy, too. I would really appreciate to have a leisurely month between each event. tired

i need to say, moving it is a good idea. i've never been one to care about alegarten, mainly because i want to just save up for lumi gifts and buy shit i need for morostide has. Maybe you could combine this with the food truck festival event from this summer, and have just a giant food and beer fest in general? maybe even focus on some non alcoholic based stuff? the rl event this originated from focuses on stuff that isn't beer related now.

I'm a little bummed as the Oktoberfest theme is what made Alegarten one of my favorite holidays, though I completely understand the need to rebalance the timing of the events.. it gets quite hectic around here from the Anniversary until Vesnali.

I'm going to really miss the Brew of the Month club though. :(

I understand the reasons for this decision, but I'm going to miss having Alegarten in October so much ;w; I kind of feel that pirates make more sense to be in summer than Alegarten... I didn't expect this at all before I read the announcement... it feels a bit bittersweet... the move to summer and removal of Gunter's home brew club. I'm gonna make the most of Alegarten this year. It's my favourite mini-holiday because of the theme (association with Oktoberfest), how chill things are during this time, appreciation for brews and alpine fashion. I hope that won't change too drastically when it's moved to summer next year. It would be Alegarten by name but I don't know if it'll feel the same.

I was looking forward to signing up for another brew club. D: I really hope that the focus of the holiday does not change too much. I know that Oatmeal is a cute part of it, and the vegan foods appeal to a certain crowd, but this is my favorite holiday because of the brews. I am a craft brewery bartender IRL, and my pet Raloku's entire treasury is focused on alcohol as he is a bartender as well. The vast amount of creativity that goes into creating new drinks is quite inspiring. I understand that some people may be against alcohol, as I am sure that they have their reasons, but I am one of those people that are all for it. I just hope that this holiday doesn't turn into 'Summer Vegan Food and Oatmeal' day. I am fine with the date change, though my hopes of seeing my favorite holiday soon have been crashed. I understand that Summer needs more events. I am just worried that the focus will change too much.

I'm very sad to see this change happening. I like having Alegarten as a separate event from the food festival. Even if autumn months to be busier in terms of site events, I'd still rather have more unique site events rather than have some of them be combined. But maybe this could be a good change. One way or another we'll find out next summer.

Have to agree with the people who would rather have the pirates move to summer instead. Not to complain, just to support those who spoke up, and avoid the mistaken impression that everyone loves the idea. I do enjoy the vegan items, hope we can look forward to more in the near future.

i wish it didn't have a 30 second time limit between buying things, it's a bit annoying ;; it would be great if that was removed like it has been for other event shops in the past (i specifically remember it happening during survival?)

This is so disappointing... The move is fine, and makes a ton of sense, but why is Alegarten getting ignored this year too? Pretty much nothing happened for the anniversary and now nothing is happening for Alegarten. Are we going to get new things for Morostide?
