Scheduled Downtime



We're going to have scheduled downtime starting at 2AM on Friday December 2nd. We're expecting this downtime to last up to 12 hours, but we're hoping to cut that short throughout the process. Keep an eye on the status site and our social media during the downtime for updates.

We're moving the database to a new service which requires making a backup of the current site, beaming it to a server and then feeding it into this new database. Subeta is huge and you've created a lot of data over the past 12 years which takes a lot of time to move from server to server.



All of your currencies, pets, and other account data are entirely safe as we're starting this entire process by creating a backup.

The downtime will be on a day that Melody's Cottage is open, so we're going to reduce the requirements for the 2016 achievements by a day, so even if you aren't able to visit Melody you can still earn the achievements.

Site is still freezing! I saved my tree and it was NOT saved! Guess what right after that the site froze! I am not buying any CSC or anything till this is fixed!

Thank goodness midnight is 9:00 pm tonight (my time) and I can play till at least 11:00 pm. Then I should go to sleep while this is going on.

Hello, I am among those worried about the bathhouse streak. I have not missed a day since it opened. If the site is down longer than anticipated, through end of day, is there a plan?

Hmm. Forgive me for not jumping up and down with excitement. We've been here before - many times. Being told new servers will makes things better, smaller shops, galleries etc etc. I'll reserve judgement for a later date, as I don't want to get my hopes up about anything on here anymore.

Can I also express my surprise/disappointment that the feedback thread about the lack of information/updates from staff has been locked. Are we only allowed to give positive feedback? If that's the case, there won't be much of that coming at the moment -_-

this actually makes sense (and I am European, too) - since this is night in the area where subeta is located and while I am often not to happy withupdates being in the middle of european nights - this really makes sense for me.

PLUS I have to work most of this time on friday, so I do not really care laughs

Thanks for the heads up. I too, hope that this one goes waaaaaaay smoother than the last database move. I thought that moving things to the cloud and having to delete our old shops and galleries and start up new ones was supposed to fix things like the 502s etc.

Awesome, thanks for the notice! if you have time, a Keith Answers video on Friday would be fun since we won't have anything else going on? :) That's assuming the server move is more of a 'passive' thing and not an 'actively be involved for 12 hours' thing, because if so obviously you'll be busy.

There will be items, anyone who is awake at midnight can grab them then, or after the downtime. Those items will also be available in the inevitable giveaway at the end of the month where thousands of leftover Melody items find their way.

From what I understand, there will be 30 days instead of 31? Will the 2nd have items at all? Will we be able to get these later?
