Angelic Pets: Cure for the Blues

Well, the Luminaire Tree has (hopefully) long since been put away, and you might be thinking something is missing! No twinkling lights, no fairies, no gingerbread, no happy angel tree-toppers...

If you're having The Post-Lumineve Blues, perhaps a small helping of some angelic pets is just what you need!* The angelic tutani is brand new, and the angelic irion and fester have been updated! Hopefully, this will help!

sigh... I really don't think I was being rude. I was just trying to form a helpful critique, but I guess that's illegal here or something? :c I ADORE cartoons, but I'm just discussing basic translations from real life. Ah well, maybe I was just unaware of my own rudeness. I do apologize if that's the case, but I think there's a general attitude around here of being too touchy about this kind of thing, like pet artists are fragile and delicate or something? Personally I'd love to get critique on my art rather than only adoration, but I hardly ever do.

Oh, cool. Some of us are going to be rude about the hard work the artists here put into keeping this place updated and fresh. If you can't enjoy something because it's not "realistic" enough, maybe a virtual pet site on the Internet isn't the best place for you. (;

Anyway, I think they look fantastic! The Tutani looks so happy, the Fester is lovely, and I'm digging the Irion's golden spots. Great job, as always! Thank you so much for taking the time to update some of the artwork here! ❤️

The thing is, though, this fester really isn't based off a real vulture. It's an angel vulture. Maybe in the Great Aviary in the Sky, all birds can sit on their asses to their hearts' content!

I have both the fester and the irion, and while I love the fester, the irion might take some time to grow on me. Not that it isn't gorgeous, it's just different. But I have a feeling she will grow on me and Allegory will be staying the way she is.^^

-Guardian-Angel The Everything for Serpenth needs a revamp. I'm still incredibly sad how neglecting they're letting that species be. :S

I like the Tutani, even though it looks like it'd either snap or be in a large amount of pain in that pose. :S

Love the Fester, but the one foot almost looks detatched from the rest of it o_o; Not too fond of the pose for the Tutani...

Yes, I did address that in my comment. The anatomy is still generally based on a real bird and so it's jarring when it does something physically impossible for a bird to do, yet has all the proper parts and basis for it.

I'm gonna be honest--I really don't think that's how birds like to sit. I cannot imagine a bird that would willingly sit like that without hurting itself. A Fester is not a vulture, but it is based on one, and should draw inspiration in terms of positioning and the way in which it can move from real birds--never forget your basis in science, even when drawing mythical creatures. I like the art quite a bit, but I just can't buy that pose.

I dislike the arbitrary rotation of the Tutani as well; it's hard to look at this way and my brain keeps trying to turn it 90 degrees. No real complaints about the Irion (the wings are a bit squished but I'm sure the artist did the best they can with such a rigid box of a canvas), but I did personally prefer the old one as I enjoyed its personality more.

I don't usually critique pet art... hope I didn't offend anyone as that's not my intention, I just like to see anatomy that's taken from real life, as I find it more believable :P

I love the coloring, the detail, feathers, and poses of the Fester and the Irion, but that Tutani...I agree with the other comments about back-breaking. But honestly, my first thought was that it's Wings are on it's TAIL. How in the world is that happening when he's so top-heavy? I just seriously think the wing placement should be reconsidered.

I agree, the Tutani's pose does look painful, it makes me wince. The colors are very pretty though. I LOVE the Fester. I don't care if the pose is incorrect anatomy-wise. That Fester is ADORABLE. I don't much like Festers but I am seriously considering getting an Angelic one. Ahhh<3 The Irion! So pretty! I love the design and I like that it's looking over it's shoulder, the expression on it's face is really cute. The old one looked more like a baby and even though it was super cute, I adore the beautiful re-vamp.
