Baw, I knew that there had to be a nice, suiting profile for your pet, I'm sorry that she had to get caught up in all this mess! Now that I can see what's really supposed to be there, I have to agree, it's very nice. The story was well-written, too. Overall a great pet, I hope that everyone will overlook what happened last night. n___n Well deserved, I think!

As soon as I saw how many comments it had, I knew there would be much drama. It's amazing how many people actually do look at the pet spotlight, when so few actually comment unless it's to complain about something.

Mistakes happen, as far as I'm concerned. It's disappointing that this happened, but I'm not about to baaaw over it. I'm sure staff is aware that this happened and, with any luck, working on it. The site's not perfect and they haven't gotten a flawless way of handling pet spotlight yet -- unsurprising, given how many pets onsite there are, and how many users have really good pet profiles.

The layout is pretty good, though too... JPG-y-looking for my taste. I like the theme of the pet, even if it's the wrong profile haha.

Daski, I think it is totally fair and totally necessary. Every time you change something, someone has to look back over it to make sure it wasn't something bad, or against the rules, or the profile all together. For all they know, you could have been adding nudie pics, or deleting the profile, or something else.

i dont think that being knocked out of the winner's circle for editing the profile is very fair. I'm constantly adding new things to my profiles, especially Damien_, so i support the SubetaTeam actually looking at the profile before accepting the win.

No worries, the account was saved and everything is fine. I suppose she had no idea she was gonna win, and put up a commissioned profile and forgot to take it down. I suppose we should all just focus on the story itself of the pet.

I believe I saw somewhere that if you change the TC or minion, it doesn't take the pet out of the queue.

Changing the profile/text should though.

Agreeing on the 'saw 100+ news posts, assumed drama' wagon. So, were they making the profile for someone else and got frozen for a misunderstanding? Or did they steal code from someone else to make the layout? /confused. Either way, it's kinda silly to leave a profile comission up. If I'm using a spotlight nominated pet to code something, I change it back immediately as soon as I'm done, or if I don't finish it in the day, I take it down and put my old one back up just incase.

Sad that they were frozen if it was a misunderstanding though.

Many of the complaints are going right over my head, because I can't see pet lookups normally on my iPod.Quote:

; border: 1px solid ; font-family: georgia; font-size: 10;"> I don't know how often they sift through the queue for current pet profiles in the works and what not. But I do think that if you're doing a test on a finished profile that was already nominated, move the pet page to the 'not ready' status for nomination, period.
Or test it on a different pet!

I'm disappointed.

I think clearing the queue every so often is a good idea. Stuff like this would be avoided. And it's not hard to mention your pet in, say, your cult, to get it renominated after a clearing.

Actually, staff does not need to sift through the nomination queue more often. The queue must consist of thousands of pets by now, with how the whole pet spotlight works (which still got room for improvement in my opinion ). They just need to have a look at the winner BEFORE it is published. Nice profile, anyway. I hope for the pet owner that everything is sorted out soon.

I agree-there at least needs to be one staff member who looks at the submissions before they go through and makes sure nothing is stolen or out of place so this sort of thing doesn't happen.

This wants me to disable Lashers Nominating Link right away :/ What a mess. I'm really sorry for this user to be frozen because of something that is not her fault at all. I mean, you need the nomination link on a profile you are changing to position it. My Profile Pet was also nominated, but he was kicked out. There should really be some changes made or at least a little more attention paying.

From my understanding, you can still edit if you're still in the queue BEFORE you're in the winner's queue. So if you were to edit after you're put into the winner's queue, you get bumped back into the preliminary queue.

people can be frozen for other rule breakings like using foreign languages where you're not supposed to, or other totally unrelated things.

I was going to say though, that some people are talking about a potential clearing of the queue is the end of the world. I think it is a good idea.

I don't get why Jez entered the pet in the contest with that profile, unless she edited the profile AFTER she was entered, in which case wouldn't the entry be revoked? But still, the profile was being made by Jez for The Kid's owner with the artwork by Oatmeal at The Kid's owner's request, so she needs to be unfrozen because she was not guilty of art/code theft.

Regardless, maybe nomination queues should be removed when the user is frozen, like they're removed when pets are transferred.
