I think there should be a filter in the wardrobe to search for masculine or feminine clothes. The majority of clothes I have seen in the wardrobe are feminine it's hard to find maculine clothes

Moving to avatars subforum.
I unironically dislike the idea of "feminine" and "masculine" clothing. I hate it in real life, and I wouldn't like to see this implemented.
It's putting fashion in the gender binary barrier again, and I'm not fond of this. I would like an indicator for things that have slight model difference between F and M on the avatar, but again, just because they have a difference (boobas) doesn't make them gendered.
That would be perfect. . I wouldn’t mind something like that either

As someone who's nonbinary and tries to avoid specifically "gendered" clothes for the aforementioned reasons (or accenting things that I'd rather not accent), I love and support this.

It seems "masculine" avatars are notoriously more difficult to make and that has been a thing through the many years of Subeta. I would also support a way to search for those kind of things. In a way that doesn't offend anyone, but in a way that I could more easily make a more "manly" looking avatar if I wanted to. Even on my more feminine avatar makes if I want to make a girl look more natural it's hard to find lips and eyes that don't look like makeup.
I would love some sort of filter on the wardrobe but a F/M division is way too subjective and wouldn't be valid for every item. I'm one that would rarely use it because I would never be sure if an item is F, M or genderless. If staff were to work on any sort of filter, their time can be better spent working on categories that aren't so "blurry" (I'm looking at you, colour palettes).
I think the best solution in this case is simply making a drawer.
It's really not offensive, for me anyways, so much as it's just tedious to wade through endless amounts of tops that are clearly made for predominantly female HAs.
But I'm also reminded of the beach hair fiasco many years ago (and that stupid shrimp minion) that still remains that if you have a male HA, you get the male hair and if you have a female HA, you get the female hair.
The programming exists already, it just needs to be categorized thus and there have been instances, again in my memory, of the userbase being called on to do that in part for the staff. Which I have no issue with. It works.

As someone who makes masculine avatars I empathize with the struggle of finding apparel that seems manly, but this suggestion has me scratching my head. Maybe I'm missing something? First, define what makes a piece of clothing "male" or "female" and then explain why it is exclusively so. This is something that sounds pretty subjective to me, what I find looks feminine you may not. I personally have drawers for this exact purpose. Though the drawer system is a PITA in its current state.
I just want tags! "Starter tags" that can be added by the user base and then tags I can add myself
While clunky I use drawers constantly, but they certainly have huge limitations, like you can't put the same item into multiple drawers.

i wouldn't mind a tag for all bottoms to be either : pants or slacks.(not both) shorts or skirts. it is annoying to search because each item needs to be hard refreshed to search something else in the wardrobe. tops i have no idea how to categorize from fem/male.

I think this would be too hard to implement, not just because of the amount of work it would take, but because "masculine" and "feminine" are nebulous terms to begin with. But it would be nice to have categories for things like pants, skirts/dresses, facial hair, and lipstick.
Zero offense to anyone, but in the current political climate the last thing I want in a pet site where I go to relax is a new, 100% subjective gender binary popping up where there wasn't one before.
I didn't want it for anything other than finding the male/masculine clothes easy among all the dresses. it wasn't anything to do with polictical/ Binary

I think you are in the wrong forum

I'm not saying anything about your intentions. I'm just saying that what it would inherently do, if it was anything other than people just being able to tag their own stuff privately in their own wardrobes, would make me very uncomfortable for a multitude of reasons including the fact that what is considered "masculine/feminine" varies by culture and this site is used internationally.

my HA is always male and i do understand the frustration with it being harder to find masculine looking clothing, but i think that the solution is just... for subeta to make more masculine clothing and/or be more clear with item names. subeta has definitely gotten better with having more masculine options but i would always love more! when it comes to item names, i know that coming up with unique names can be hard but i'm sure there are items out there i dont know are lovely wearables because the name refers to the other use of the item, such as the 1s and 0s drinks this year at the lounge. tbh i don't know what could make this better, you just have to hover over stuff but it can def be easy to miss some stuff.
i am also somewhat against an official masc/femme tag, due to comments posted above, but also how subjective it can be for people as well. what one person thinks is masculine someone else might think is more feminine. clothing is just clothing, our society genders clothing but especially somewhere like subeta its safe to experiment with stuff like gender and clothing
i am actually a girl but i just started making this cute rat boy avatar and he kinda just stuck lol so my HA is always a guy, so as i said i def get the frustration of finding more "masc" clothes
: that would be perfect. : it wasn't you that mention political.
I do feel having masculine clothing easier to find for everyone will help. There are people who like just to make HAs (me included) and make them for either gender. I have Doctor who, Thor.
