So Neugraten is coming up
General themes for neugarten: -sustainable living -Locally sourced products -Vegetarian and vegan products -handcrafted items
Some ideas from last year:
And some more current suggestions: -Clothes with Broderie Anglaise xXxX -Beaded curtains -Macrame wall hangings -macrame belts xXxX
I'd like to bring back my suggestion of held tree branches, as well as other things made from wood that's been carved, and yarn/wool.
I like the idea of more summer items. They don't all have to be beach themed, not everyone can go there during summer, I'm thinking more of just being outdoors, or even indoors if it's too hot outside. Some items such as different types of fans, ice cubes (do we have any items that are ice cube trays with different shapes? Those would be good), parasols (not held ones, those big ones that you put in the ground and sometimes in the middle of an outdoor table, and books about natural ways to cool down without using up energy with an electric fan or air conditioning would be interesting to see.
Oh, and washing lines, lines with clothes on them as a foreground items that you can use for layering, since that's also a more sustainable way to dry laundry, especially in hot weather.
this whole set but for different vendors
snacks vendor, cheese vendor, flower vendor, pottery vendor, clothes vendor, soap vendor, etc etc
basically i think this specific concept is super fun and would love to see more of it
(i'd settle for more items that are just different foreground counters, but a less distinctly "i'm selling veggies" background would be nice)
It's the beginning of cycling season and we have some nice open road backgrounds (Vetan Road Trip Postcard, Leaden Sky) so how about some bicycles (road, mountain, hybrids, recumbents) and cycling accessories (cycling caps, tire pump, spare tubes, dry bag, helmets, patch kit, ect) to travel them with? Subeta could use a cottage-industry bike shop pop-up, it'll keep the cars at bay.
People have been asking for bikes for ages, so I agree. Although they would be more suited for GoOutside, we could still have a few items for Neugarten, it would work with the environmental themes.
👀 I actually made a suggestion thread for bicycles and accessories to be added to GoOutside back a couple of years ago I think it was, but nothing happened. Holding out hope that this year is the year for some cycling love.
Finish the Gunter plot.
How did Bubbles become an Unliving when he was already dead? How did Gunter explain his brother's death or disappearance because he got away with the murder at first? Let Anne find her father in the Underground so she doesn't have to keep boring her customers by offering the note for them to read. Finally, give Gunter a proper trial because the SAI being able to hold people indefinitely without a trial is a scary idea.
I want to know these things as well. It's been 4 years. If the staff can't do an actual plot, just some news posts with lore updates like Gunter's confession and arrest was will be fine.
Crocheted motifs are trendy right now. I’d love to see more crochet (and knit) related items please.
Picnic wearables and food items. Some cute summery scenes for HAs would be nice.

The crochet idea made me think of the quilt backgrounds you made us a few years back. It might be fun to have the crochet be a lacy sort of background or puffy since depending on the pattern crochet could be either.
A gnomeli vendor would be another fun vendor to have.
Summer party tables similar to the beloved tables from the Zombie den (birthday party, a tea party and a fun spring/summer party spread on a picnic table)
Garlands like the ones from Morostide only to match the tables
Garden gates in different styles (Japanese, English, French, Italian, Chinese) drawn without a cutout so that our HA can appear to be peeking around the gate or standing in front of it.
Fireflys done similar to the Spooky Jack-o-Lantern from Genetech so they glow.
And garden lights or lanterns that glow the same way. I've seen so many different styles even ones that looked like flowers or mushrooms
Arms raised in a dancing or celebrating position like for a folk dance or party these were the closets ideas I found. But some other position may work better.
Please give us other ways for our HAs to sit. So far the best looking option to me are the wheelchairs from Medicontra. For Neugarten sitting in a pile of quilts, throw pillows, or blankets in various pastel and bold colors would be amazing. Especially if the colors looked good with any of these backgrounds.
Most of the sitting items or ones that are similar like the Shell of Venus or the Rose Thrones cover all the legs or make them look like they are in another position. So maybe our HA is sitting on a pile of pillows or maybe with the new feature that allows us to remove limbs it could be shorter pile and we can just hide the feet.
While looking typing my last idea I thought of putting my HA in a yoga or Pilates pose or maybe even sitting for breathing exercises using this background.
This also seems like it would be the perfect holiday to add a few pregnant mother and new parent themed items since we have so few and even fewer that look good.
Handcrafted cribs, blankets, diaper bag, high chair, ect. I'm sure there are health and ecologically conscious ones but I'm not familiar with any of it so it will be nice to see anything.
Clotheslines with linens or clothes.
Food Salads made with edible flowers Picnic baskets maybe with different themes like romantic, family, summer picnic party, ect. Different grilled fish for the pescatarians. I have a friend who is Pescatarian which is a vegetarian that eats fish not sure if it fits this holiday maybe it would work better during Keel Hauliday. Every year I look forward to more yummy vegan and vegetarian items because they give me ideas for food I wouldn't have otherwise heard about since I'm looking for more ways to eat my produce.
Minions Helpful garden bugs like Praying mantis, dragonfly, lacewings, ect. Gnomeli's for the picnic and maybe one to represent each shop
Book Ideas Harvesting and Storing beeswax and honey Uses for beeswax Honey recipes Best sources of pollen, A pollinators guide to harvesting How to handle beehive pests Farmer's Almanac Cloud identification (that one is happy, the other one is a Cirrus and the one over there looks like a dragon) Light in the garden (could be about lighting for at night or a party or what kinds plants need) Organic pest control Picnic Ideas Summer party plans Decorating your garden for a summer party Xeriscaping Zen gardening
[edit]2-23-23 Just a reminder that I want to request geta in a variety of fun colors and patterns for the strap and lovely woods for the body.
please bring back the peka-boo fashion yurts, merch tent, and vip lounge like how we had the food trucks last year
Thank you for doing such a good job with the suggestion threads. When might we see the thread for Keel Haul?
I second the request for Fashion yurts and more.
I totally forgot about that one, I'll start it up right away. It is more a user effort than anything so anyone should feel free to start one up at roughly 3 months before the event is supposed to happen.
I thought about it but you give such helpful descriptions of the holidays and the only thing I could think of was calling it that frustrating and fun shopping event in summer with the awesome items.
It would be great to do some camping items or hiking items! Maybe baseball caps, summer lodge themed items? Carved wooden canes, more tank tops and shorts too!
We have Wesley's shop for that, I don't want to see Neugarten even more diluted :(

sure, we have wesley, but when was the last time we got anything new added to go outside?? aside from that i would also argue that people who support and practice sustainable living are generally very much outdoor people. whats wrong with this suggestion when i see many suggestions here that are pretty much just boho themed ideas that dont have anything to do with the theme of sustainable living?
also its not as if the current pool of items isnt running dry, how many times can you do 'make up but its totally vegan' and 'metal water bottles'? i think a lot of things at neugarten end up being more boho style than actual sustainability themed items, with the rare exception. also many items that i would say could be used in a sustainable living theme are often already implemented in other holidays like vesnali. i strongly associate homesteading with sustainability, not buying a metal straw you'll lose in two weeks lol. i dont think theres anything wrong with suggesting outdoor stuff.

yeah! that's exactly what i was thinking. to me, sustainable living is more than just going to a farmer's market, it's relying a lot on the outdoors and homesteading, so that means hiking, camping, hunting, farming, and building things (like the canes!) from the wood and the resources around us!
oh wow, now i'm realizing how much I'd love to have a cycling cap!! honestly the full kit would be awesome. And obviously we can't copy prokits, but ones inspired by Mapei, Castorama, La Vie Claire, etc. would be cool (I like the modern kits too, but I think the retro ones are easier to spin off of w/o copying?). Though... pro-cycling is not exactly the most sustainable, so...
or some multi-use stuff could be cobblestones/country road/winding road backgrounds.
