Frequently Asked Questions
[box=#cceeff]What are modification crystals?[/box] Mod crystals are items that allow you to customize your weapons. They can add more attack or defense icons, give an additional curse or blessing, and also boost the weapon's chances to heal, steal, freeze or critically hit an opponent.
[box=#cceeff]How many mod crystals can I use?[/box] Most weapons have one to five mod slots where you can add your crystals. You can check how many by hovering over the weapon in your armory. Once a weapon has all of its mod slots filled the only way to add a new crystal is to replace one of the current ones. However, doing this will make the old crystal disappear forever. Removing a weapon from your armory will also cause all attached crystals to disappear forever. This is why battlers often ask for mod crystals to be replaced when lending out weapons.
[box=#cceeff]Where can I get mod crystals?[/box] Some mod crystals are available in the Battle Shop, but most are given out through battling opponents. The more battles you win, the more mod crystals you will earn. As a general rule, stronger opponents give out better crystals. You can find a list of which crystals are available from which opponents in the spoilers below.
[box=#cceeff]What do the percentages mean?[/box] The percentages are the likelihood that a blessing, curse, or heal will activate. They don't add up cumulatively and will activate independently of each other.
For example, if you were to add three Parched Baguette Crystals to your weapon, the likelihood that the Parched (10%) blessing will activate on any given turn is 1 - (0.90.90.9) = 0.271 or 27.1%; the 0.9 being the 90% chance that the blessing will not activate, multiplied three times over because you added three Parched Baguette Crystals.
[box=#cceeff]Where do I modify my weapons?[/box] Weapons can be modded either through the Armory or by clicking on a mod crystal in your inventory and then clicking 'Modify Weapon.'
[box=#cceeff]Which crystals are the best?[/box] Historically speaking, Blessing of Natural Armor Tear Crystal, Parched Baguette Crystal, Singed Baguette Crystal, and Critical Strike Tear Crystal have been considered the best crystals in terms of utilization. Elemental crystals are also useful when you need additional attack or defense for a specific icon type. It all comes down to personal preference and what will work best against a certain opponent.
[box=#cceeff]Okay, but really, which crystals should I use if I'm still overwhelmed by all of the choices?[/box]
These four crystals will get you through most battles, just be sure to read about what they do in the 'Miscellaneous Crystals' section to become familiar with them first.

Comparison Across Crystal Tiers
Elemental crystals within the same tier (tear, baguette, cabochon, etc.) will work the same. The only things that change are the icon types (dark, fire, earth, etc.), which correspond with the element in the crystals' names, and the blessing or curse activated, which are unique to each element.

Stealing Crystals
This is a really nice update. Love the quick and easy crystal farming section.
Thank you! I was inspired by the organization of ’s stat booster guide and wanted to make things easier to read :)
Thank you for this guide. I have been looking for one like this. I book marked it right away.
Thank you for this guide! I've used it to update the listings on SubetaLodge so hopefully all of the crystals are accurate. The new CS challenger Helionyu gives out the fire brilliants as well :) I'm checking to see if the newer Zuzu gives out any also.
You may want to give our community loot spreadsheet a look! 1P Loot tracker - Collaboration Project I keep it updated along with the challenger and mod crystal guides. If you Ctrl+F for 'crystal' it may give you a better idea of when challengers give them out as not every challenger follows the pattern exactly.
So far this year Ujin, Zuzu, and now Jackalope haven't given out any crystals as loot. I'm not entirely sure why...
Ah thank you! I used to have that saved and couldn't find the link! I will definitely check out and see if there are updates/challengers I'm missing on the crystals (I didn't do the baguettes, just the cabochon and up since those seemed more consistent than the lower tiers).
Thanks Again for this :)!
I always have to refer back to this in my tender old age.
Euclid did NOT give me a Freezing Eye of Royalty Crystal on win 25 (tried with 2 pets), got a few other elements thereafter.
From me, too, finally expressed a huge thank you for your wonderful guides! They are true lifesavers!!!
I don't recommend farming for specific crystals on Euclid since he can give out any of the elements :P I've changed it to 26+ to be more clear.
This guide should now be up to date with the recent changes :)
Hi, jess - a quick question, whenever you find the time
according to your guide here
Freezing Marquise Crystal attacks 4 and blocks 4 Ice chance 3%
Freezing Eye of Royalty Crystal attacks 5 blocks only 3 Ice? chance 3%
I have never equipped/used an EoR, they are far to expensive (and on my account too few, lol)
Is it really blocking less than the Marquise?
...whatever, I luckily have bookmarked this, but it was on page 3, so definitely needed a bump!
- I saw you're a moderator, could you please sticky the guides, pretty please?
Yep, that is correct!
Whenever you need to double check what a crystal does, just pop it in your inventory and either click on it, then click modify weapon, or go here. Both ways will list its attack, defense, and activation rate(s) without consuming it.
I'm not sure if the three ice block is a typo or not for the Freezing EoR, but that is the way it has always been since it was statted.
