I have been in Subeta for 3 weeks, and the site is very kind to it's new players! It does help that I have joined in a really good time (thank you dear Free Shop, will be mised) but still, it's amazing how much you can do here even as a new player.
However, it doesn't mean that I can do everything, and I'm not mad about it! Eventually I will get there, but for now, I suppose it doesn't hurt to talk about what is still out of my reach.
The Blue Building is one of the biggest things for me right now, and my god, those Achievements have been kicking my ass u_ΓΊ. Still 48 left, and now I am struggling to get the remaining ones. The collection ones are so expensive, now I am wondering which ones to pick lol
Another thing currently gatekeeping me is my "low" battle stats. I can kill the weaker ones no problem, but man, anything in my level DEMOLISHES me. Gotta train that baby up, almost makes me feel like spending money on stats boosters... But I will hold off for now lol
What about you?
Nice to meet you, π
Yeah, I feel you! I just joined sub a few days ago, and there are definitely some long-term goals (The Blue Building being one of them). If it's any consolation, I'm sure that the time and effort required to get in will make the reward that much sweeter. It's only a matter of time!
If there's anything I can do to help you get there sooner, let me know! Cheers π
I'm a very long time member (15 years). Most of the roadblocks I've encountered have been in my own head. There are a lot of things, that if you do a small amount every day (or every other day) will add up quickly, and I keep telling myself I should do that, but I don't! I just want to get it all done right NOW, and burn myself out, instead of taking it easy and doing a little every day.
A true roadblock I've found is in baking. My level is too low to bake some of the things I need, but raising my level is too slow and I have to bake a bunch of things I neither want or need. Nor do they sell well so I can't even make a small profit doing it - the cost of the ingredients is higher than the price from selling.
at lower levels autoraining is really beneficial. It cost 25 CSC, but if you quest every day you should get rewarded with the occasional Morty Card, which will give you 25 CSC. Its well worth it to get your pet to level quickly.

Welcome to you both! It makes me happy to see new players.
Hmm roadblocks. I've been here a long time. At the time I joined because it was a lot friendlier and more mature than the other sites I had visited. Pets were probably my first interest when I started but early on non GA users could only have 5 pets. Getting 10 pets was one of the rewards for having a GA account and once you had them you kept them. It made decisions where your pets were concerned a lot more impactful, though I am really happy that I can collect more now. Since I didn't have any money to spare on Subeta at the time I was thrilled when they gave everyone a free GA when they had a particularly bad crash. With that opportunity I was able to create 5 more pets. I still have all 10 of them.
As for achievements I almost never pursue them unless I want the reward. They can be quite a challenge so good luck and congratulations on your progress. Training can take a lot of time and with all the pets I have I try to focus only on the ones I want to get better jobs for with one exception. Sometime recently I was able to adopt a pet that already had decently high stats at least compared to my other pets and I have been training him. But I still have a lot to learn about battling.
Hope you both see the inside of the Blue Building soon it is worth it but it took me years to figure that out so I am glad you found it so early.
I'm hoping that Blue has a lot of interestin stuff, because the hype building up while you work for it is so real lol And same goes for you, if you need help with anything, I will do ym best to help! ^u^
Totally. It's always hard to see the long term stuff developing, but in the end, if we got everything we wanted in one month of being in the site, I think Subeta would have vanished already. Baking is one aspect I still find scary to try out (so many things to gather!), and the time aspect of it makes it somehow both more and less scary (on one hand, you can drop and go, but also, I need to bake right now pls!!). Best of luck to you with baking!
I have been thinking about autotraining actually, I might just give it a shot today! Thank you the advice.
Oh, I didn't know that, actually! Part of me was afraid that pets would get deleted once the Gold Account ended, but it's very reassuring to see that they stay after it ends. And yeah, battling can be surprisingly deep, the tier system really makes you scrap for the best weapons allowing and just running with it as long as you can. I never been someone to play defensively in games, and Subeta has made me change that pretty quickly lol Thank you for the kind encouragement, wish you the best luck on your battles too!
Thanks, CB! This has been my experience exactly. I find the community on Neopets to be very antagonistic and contrarian, and I really like the atmosphere on this site π
Agreed! Coming from Neopets, I'm finding the battling on Sub to be much more interesting! On that site, you train until you get to level 50, when you can acquire a move that freezes your opponent for a turn. Then, it turns into a daily grind where you one hit KO the opponent who has the best drops over and over again. On here, there are the tiers, unique rewards for every opponent, EXP points, event opponents, etc. There's a lot more to keep our interest and keep it interesting π
Welcome to the site! I'm a long-time player of the site as well, (I hit my 17 year anniversary in December) and am also the mini-mod of the art related forums on here( art discussion and art market) and co-mod with Permanent the profile and graphics related forums on site.
The blue building, years ago, was actually one of the requirements that took me a while to get mostly because I'm not personally a battler on any pet sites I've been a part of in the past or now. I ended up using my first loyalty box on site to get my battle pet, Huo, statted up so I could enter the blue building since it was the last requirement I needed. That was years ago, more than 8 at this point since it was mid-2000s, I'd like to say 2005-2007 when I did that since I honestly don't remember exactly which year that was.
Most of my goals at this point are personal, and that's why they're difficult. More precisely, they're not exactly difficult, so much as it's mostly just me doubling down and finishing them, i.e. finishing up pet stories and making pets that I currently have spotlight ready. The pets I want spotlight ready anyway, since a couple are pets I don't plan to put up for spotlight.
Baking is actually something I probably need to do more of on site. I'm at a relatively low level too, just because I don't focus on it that much on site. Well, that and battling since I'm pretty forgetful about leveling up my battle pet or even just statting him up so his stats are higher because, I usually don't even remember to level his stats up until there's a battle related event on site and then I'm like, oh, yeah, he needs higher stats.
Yes baking is something I have been slow to progress. If either of you haven't heard we have a few different ways to craft unique items on this site.
One is baking another is alchemy and the third that I know of is the genetech lab. As new as you are you won't have access to alchemy because you have to be wearing a zombie skin to get in.
If that interest you, you can collect one during Pandemic/Survival. Its the second event of the year. They always release 4-5 new skins and its a complete mystery what they will look like when they finish. They give the skin a temporary name when they release it then we vote on what we want to name the skin which is why you will see two names for the skins. It takes days to complete a skin so it is impossible to them all in one year so start with one you really like. I still don't have them all thankfully I don't want them all.
Also I was wondering if you had seen the vegan foods from Neugarten? They are only for sale for a short period during the summer but it might be something to save up for if you want to feed it to your pets. Here are links to list of what the shops carry. Local Fresh and Wholesome :) Rumis Vegan Life :) Shantis Sustainables The last one isn't really food but you might really like the wearables.
welcome!! I've been here for over 10 years at this point, but I'm slowly coming back from a long hiatus. I've done a little bit of everything over the years, but never gotten too deep into anything lol. my favorite thing here is big lore events!! the events here are always fun and involved, and site-wide events (especially site-wide battle challengers!) are so fun to be a part of, even when it's ABSOLUTE CHAOS. especially when it's absolute chaos, actually, lol.
lately I've been trying to focus on building up ONE (1) pet for battle and stuff. my main roadblock has always been picking one thing and sticking with it, so we'll see where it goes! right now I'm focusing on leveling up my Alchemy in the Underground because there's some new-ish items I want that are higher level. Morostide is coming up which always has some fun recurring battle challengers! the Blue Building has lots of fun wearables, as well as an exclusive pet! if you're into wearables or like bees it's definitely worth the effort.
i feel this so much! i feel its both me being picky and trying to chill, if that makes sense!
i suggest buying a 100 credit gift card if you can (i believe they are about 5m sp, which you can get with some questing) to autotrain your pet! its much more effective than boosters at lower tiers (experienced battlers feel free to correct me). mostly if you don't want to manually put ur pet in training every hour!
Thanks, Mercury! Nice to meet you π
Good to know, CB! I've made a few things at the Genetech Lab already (as part of Major Drills quests), but I haven't heard of baking or alchemy. I assumed that people were talking about baking for real π
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we can do cruelty-free baking on this site (all the recipes require eggs π’). [link=https://considertheegg.org]Bummer.[/link]
Woah, those zombie suits are intense hahaha some of them are bordering on Cronenberg body horror. Hopefully I won't have to wear it all the time π
This guy's cool though:

Hi, Ky! It's good to be here π Site events and chaos sounds great hahaha. Coming from Neopets, it always seemed like all the site content already happened and I missed it all. It's nice to hear that this site still has things going on π
also as far as events go, I've been absent for a few years, but the site usually pretty reliably has a year or two full of plot, then a year or two to relax, then it repeats. I'm not sure if I've missed anything, but the last plot I took part in was... 2018 I think? it was SO GOOD, I loved it. this site gets really involved with its NPCs and I love that about it.
Well, I'm glad I got here after the swapping skins feature was implemented π Still, the skins sound fun! I'm looking forward to it.
Sounds great, looking forward to it. Hopefully this'll be a livelier year.
Oooh, are people talking about Survival? I love some fresh meat at Survival.
But my current roadblocks are just waiting for items to become available again or more readily available. I'm trying to complete my plushie collection (the counter in my signature is off so don't look at that). Subeta is usually pretty good about releasing items again but there quite a few that haven't gone out yet so they're still expensive or just don't exist on the shop search right now.
Also trying to collect when you know they're going to make more plushies is a pain too. It's a constant race.
[edit] Okay, I updated my signature.
SO MUCH respect for your collecting crusade, I do not have the emotional fortitude for that. I love that old items don't seem to ever be TRULY unobtainable, it's a huge problem I have with other sites where some things are just whoopsie, gone forever, ya snooze ya lose! here I have faith that some items, even really rare ones, will be made available again EVENTUALLY, like event prizes. I've seen items from some of my first events cycle back! Morostide usually has a bunch of skins to unlock too! you picked a good time to show up, right before one of the biggest holidays!
Oh thank you! I still have beanbags and stickers to go for afterwards, but I'm in the home stretch of my plushies (31 left) so I'm in it to win it at this point. Collections usually come back for Black Friday and most of my plushies are collections right now, so I have just to gather enough CSC for that. The cheaper prices have been a great help.
Honestly I think my major roadblocks are when I need to save up for something for a long time or repeatedly do the same thing for a long time, such as training my pets, or going to the crypts, or similar things. At the moment that equates to me not training my pets at all, but that's okay for now.
I'm trying to go to the recycle beast daily (I'm up to 27k!), to frag items (so close to the 25k book yet so far) and to play mind reader when I remember to for that achievement.
I'm a huge collector and most things I still need/want are now overpriced, so I'm just hoping for rereleases. Especially for cash shop items for black Friday. x) I will never have enough CSC, though.
HA ha yes the zombie skins can be quite gruesome. There are quite a few I'm not a fan of but as said Morostide has its own skins and they can be very cool though a challenge to work with creatively.
For Morostide you can get skins from the zapper. If you don't have any already I would go the cheap route but either way it cost Wizard tokens so if you interested save them up.
There are 3 skins that do not come from the zapper or Survival Flameo, Lace, and Ice. Unfortunately Ice is from an event I missed can't remember how you get Flameo but I think it might be from Fireside, and Lace is a random event when buying in the Subeautique.
That right there would be a road block. Items from events that only happen once are limited. If you participated then you may have got them cheap or free but if you didn't participate they can be hard and very expensive to acquire. Still I'm grateful they opened the Antique Shop for those of us who missed or just didn't participate in the really old events.
Oh some of those skins are lovely!! The blood explosion one is just heart eyes I wasn't looking foward Survival (just because I thought it wasn't my jam), but now I am dying to get some of those.
SO THERE IS WHERE THAT BEE IS FROM!! I got the random event for the bee calling me twice but it was so frustrating that I still didn't have the Blue Building! Thank you for the info, now I feel like getting there even more lol
When I have to get out of the house more (quarantine is still going strong here), I will for sure use it, because training is already a bit slow, I think I will legit be stuck if I can only get a few points per day dfkwkf Thank you for the advice!
Ooh! These are awesome:

I'm excited now ππ
